I am here to answer your toughest leadership questions in one minute or less. I've been on my current role for seven years. I always get great performance reviews, but lately I felt stagnant and there isn't an obvious path to promotion or the next level, despite all this great feedback that I get. So how do I feel like I can move forward at work? Listen, I think the first place to start is what does it even mean for you to move forward at work, right?

1:27Have you defined for yourself what success looks like, what that next phase looks like for you? Because if you don't have a clear sense of what that is, then it's very hard to get feedback associated with that. So first, be very clear around what that next forward looks like. I think secondly, you should try to find out over and beyond the feedback that you've gotten, are there other things at play that you might not be aware of, right? We all have our blind spots. Part of being able to figure those out or is to figure out whether they're going to be critical in terms of being able to get to that next chapter.

1:58So tap into your manager, your peers, your mentors, maybe it's even somebody in HR that you need to consult with to really understand, And is there anything that you're missing? So I would really pay attention to, is there feedback that maybe you haven't asked for that you haven't gotten yet that will help you then get to that next place?
