0:55Josh Drean:Is AI actually driving productivity or fueling burnout? A recent study found that 96 % of C-suite leaders expect AI to boost worker productivity, and yet 77 % of employees using AI say these tools have actually added to their workload. For example, they're spending more time moderating AI-generated content, upskilling themselves to use AI, and now being asked to do more work. Wasn't the point of AI to reduce workloads? The fact of the matter is, leaders are giving AI tools to employees and it somehow expects them to pull productivity out of thin air. As a result, 47 % of employees using AI say they don't know how to achieve the expected productivity gains, which in turn is fueling their sense of burnout.
1:36Josh Drean:Introducing new technologies into outdated work models is failing to unlock the full expected productivity value of AI. And while it's certainly possible for AI to simultaneously boost productivity and improve employee well-being, we can only get there through a fundamental shift in how we organize around work and talent. We share insights on how to do this in our book, Employment is Dead. You should grab a copy today.
