In short

Two hosts (Chris Black and Jason) reunite at the Chateau Marmont and trade celebrity/LA stories, then riff on food pricing at Erewhon, Hyrox (and a scandal involving a champion being disqualified after a bathroom/poop incident), college football culture, drug/health talk (kratom), and online controversies around Ed Sheeran, Macklemore, and Carrot Top.

Guest backgrounds

No separate guests are interviewed; it’s just Chris Black and Jason. Chris is a frequent pop-culture/celebrity commentator; Jason is a frequent co-host who also discusses health, lifestyle, and media.

Key claims

Erewhon shrinks slices (pizza/cake) while keeping prices high. Hyrox is intense and “gross,” and the champion returned the award after the incident. Kratom can be abused and is sometimes used as an opioid alternative. Ed Sheeran’s political misstep is compounded by perceived alignment with billionaire stadium owners/Live Nation. Macklemore remains “awful” despite political messaging. Carrot Top’s suicide attempt is met with more jokes than condolences online.

Notable examples

Delta One “A-listers” (names withheld) including Julie Bowen; Chrome Hearts engagement ring story; Joyce Theater Sinead O’Connor ballet; “Neon Deion” Depends ads; kratom availability at gas stations/head shops; Ed Sheeran apology/teleprompter photos; Carrot Top extortion rumors; Dakota Johnson/MGK mention.

0:18How long gone? What's really good? Chris Black and them jeans coming to you live from the Chateau Marmont together again reunited in an overcast Los Angeles.

0:26Jason Stewart:Chris got the big room who paying for this one. This ain't even the biggest one. I mean, we're up out of the bungalows, moving on up. I had to take an elevator to get here, not no little steps. Little steps? I didn't say stairs, I said steps. Are steps smaller than stairs? Yeah. They are. I've never thought about this delineation. Stairs take you to a flight, and steps take you to over there. Okay, I saw it. When you go to, when we're staying in the bungalows when when gq's paying for it we're staying in the bungalows how many how many steps do we does it take to get from the sidewalk of sunset boulevard into your hotel room it doesn't make up a flight oh you're right it's about it's about three to seven it's you're right actually okay so maybe what what are we going to say the under is then what how many stairs i i think under 10 i've i've looked it up before like when because when you go hiking that's crazy and it says oh I see okay I don't know is it like seven it's like 14 I don't know there's there but there is somebody's weighed in on this a professional has you know what this seems like a great job for Yahoo Scout honestly this does seem like a job for the Yahoo Scout dear friends over there but yeah there is an over under on it but either way it is nice to be in a room where you know because the old the bungalows of Chateau it kind of feels like you're at Knott's Berry Farm you know what I mean it's a really great place to do cocaine and this is a better place This is a better place, but I think because it's removed from the building, you can get a little more rowdy with it.

1:58Jason Stewart:Bungalow rules. It's like the bonus room of the hotel. It's a bonus room. It's the basement where you put the teenagers and you let them drink down there because they're at your house. I'm going to go to the bungalows and do my first finger bang. Me? Tim and I had dinner last night. We sat next to some literal teenagers who were having dinner, and it was just so fun. Here or somewhere else? Here. Yeah. But on the way here, I saw... Like undeserving 15-year-olds and Chrome Hearts having - They look good. Did you see the Chrome Hearts engagement ring? Woo! Whose? One of the guys that works at Chrome Hearts got his chick Chrome Hearts engagement ring.

2:30One of one. Guess who sent it to me? Alex, which is the fucked up part. Oh, wow. She's like, I thought you would like this. And I was like, did you steal Luke's phone? What's going on here? Why are you sending me the Chrome?

2:42Jason Stewart:Why did you think I would like this? It is really - Has she turned? No, of course not. Okay, okay. She won't even let me rock Chrome. If I buy Chrome, it has to be a gift for Tim. That's wifey right there. Hold that chick down. No offense to our Chrome family. She won't let me hold it down. But I had an interesting flight yesterday that I wanted to. I'm going to redact some names, but I'm going to tell the story. Yeah, we're recording live and uncut from the same hotel room, so we can't necessarily leave. There is no cutting room floor. There were two, I would say, A-list celebrities in Delta One.

3:21Jason Stewart:That happened to me as well on my flight back. The mom from Modern Family, and then for a minute there, Carolyn thought it was Justin Bieber, but it was just a guy. This is, I would say, a level above that. Yeah, a level above not Justin Bieber and the mom from Modern Family. Yes, mom from Modern Family. Shout out to Julie Bowen. You look good. Number one, Mom Batty. So whatever, these two are up there. They're together. Like two women, they're friends, but they're traveling together. There's someone that we talk about on the show a lot who's also on the flight. And at the end of the flight, that person goes up to one of these A-listers and tells them a little anecdote.

4:04And she is just cool. and then because what happened was so the plane lands we're all waiting to get off this person cut up like grabbed their bags and cut up to make small talk with this other person okay so

4:25Jason Stewart:so it's it's two very famous women yes a-listers yes and then a third person who we talk about a lot what what letter grade do you give their level of celebrity oh i mean technically sadly probably c plus b even though they're not in in movies and we're and even if i try to guess this person you're not going to say it's probably for the better yes i'm not trying to push it yes so they want they so they skip the lot you know they skip the line to make small talk the small talk doesn't go oh, well, guess what they got to do? Look at their phone. Stand there and just look at their phone because Shorty said, I'm done engaging.

5:07Jason Stewart:C plus B minus was convinced a stop and chat was about to happen. It was about to be a book club style key in first class. I think they thought it was about to be a key before we de-planed and the key was cut short. Okay, I'm only going to, I'm not trying to guess who it is. Just one clarification. Are you saying they because you want to remain anonymous about the gender this is not this is not a non-binary you're not protecting a doll right now we're not protecting a doll absolutely not no absolutely not i'm not protecting anyone non-binary anyone transgender this is a this is a identity this is a person identifies as one sex i'm just trying not to give you any clues okay but i just was like damn we've all been there but you can't do that on the plane no unless you unless you guys are actual friends or if you are a level approaching a c level oh then you're good money then you're good money you made their day you say hey i'm nicole kidman what are you up to um rachel senate when angeline is going to be seated when angeline jolie came up to me and said i love your work i was stunned of course but i was like it's always nice to hear from an a-lister you know it's always great to hear from it i'm not the biggest fan of you but you know you're you're like i mean you're a goat it was just it felt like something that i was like damn this happens at like a party and it's fine because there's music plane you just dip off to get go to the bar see another friend nowhere to go on the plane you just gotta look at your phone regulation states that your ass gotta stay seated you gotta sit there kind of scroll a little bit and you know it takes some time to get the door open sometimes you know sometimes that you know sometimes the gate agents fumbling with the fucking you know we're just waiting for our last paperwork to come in why don't we just have you sometimes it takes a little time but i loved i was happy to see this interaction okay so you but you can't say who the A-listers are either.

6:55Jason Stewart:I'm not going to say any names. This is the thing that I think about whenever you and I are doing a pod like this where it's in the same room. I'm like, what are we going to do? What are we going to do without my beep? I feel like if we've stepped over the line, you have gone in and beeped before in this instance. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I hate to because I have to go. I might as well edit the whole pod at that point if it's a needle in a haystack, you know what I mean? Needle in the hay, sure. And once I get to cutting, then I can't stop. Not unlike my friends over at Erewhon who when they're cutting the sizes of the cake, they just can't stop making it smaller and smaller.

7:34We ordered some last night. But it's priced by weight, correct? No, no, no, no. That's bullshit.

7:41Jason Stewart:Yeah, it is bullshit. If I want a fat-ass slice, I want a fat-ass slice. They're getting deceptive over at Erewhon and it happens to every company and it's a shame to see it happening to them, but what are we going to do? If I'm already paying$15 for the slice, give me a little sliver extra. I know. Like, what's the big deal? Because when you do the bulk hot items or whatever, like, let me get the Kung Pao chicken or whatever it is, the coconut tendies, it's like$16 and you get a scoop full, whatever that may be, whatever that may mean. And then when you get the slice of pepperoni pizza, it is now a small personal pizza where the majority of it is crust.

8:20I don't mind the crust ratio personally as a crust lover, but I will say that the pizza, I know you're a pizza head. I am, it is disgusting that they have changed those small, like what is it? What is this? Pizza's book it? Like what the fuck is this? Give me, I want slight, if you're going to, it's just crazy.

8:38Jason Stewart:They found the one thing of correct value at Erewhon. And they ruined it. And these pencil pushing, this is Claude's fault. AI agent went in and said, this pizza is too bomb for the price. Let's make it worse. I'm going to air one right after this. So I'm going to do some price comparisons. Make the slice 14 instead of$9.99 and keep it. That's fine. Also, cake slices. But the cake slice, it's literally almost a half. I would say they removed maybe it's between a third and a half. Same price. It used to be a nice, satisfying triangle. Yeah. And now it is literal, it is a half triangle. And it just changes the whole vibe.

9:20Jason Stewart:It makes the cake dry out faster the more cuts you have. Oh. You know what I mean? I did know what you mean. But I see what you're saying. The more surface area that's touching air, the faster it's drying out. So the center of it will still. Not to get into science, but yeah. Yeah, you know, if you like your cake medium rare like I do. I don't, I also just feel like cake historically, a fat ass slice is how it's, I don't know. That's just sort of like how it's supposed to be delivered to me. Yes. Remember the size of that cake at San Vicente Bungalows? Oh, yeah. I mean, that was comical. It's comical, but that's the way it should be.

9:52Jason Stewart:I'd rather have comically big than comically small. Yeah, I'm not getting a cake at Ralph's or at Vaughn's, where, ironically, the slices are bigger. I'm paying for luxury and opulence, and I should be served a slice of cake that is beyond my wildest dreams. Did you get delivered, or was this? This was all delivered, yeah. I mean, I can't complain, but I did take the pizza. this is a air one pro tip hack if you for my vegan you know it's a it has like a butter chicken kind of vegan butter chicken feel you get the slice of pizza you rip the crust off into little kind of let's make a pretzel nugget size chunks and then you put it in with the coconut red lentil soup which kind of has like an indian doll kind of nice spice to it and you let them kind of soak in there for a minute and it gets a little pita bread non you know tomatoey vegetabley lentil kind of thing going on on top of some rice maybe this is some vegan eating right here well that's a that's a good use of of of this is a broke hoe meal at erwan it is a broke hoe meal but there are broke people who are vegan who deserve to eat erwan what i do with sometimes when i get pizzas i customize it myself when i when i get the pizza when i get my little pizza from little frankie's once a week i have arugula and parmesan and i top myself and and drizzle with a little olive oil to finish all that work so hunter so you did have something that you're training for what are you what are you training for here just morbidity or yeah you could say that you could say that I've always wanted to top myself I saw somebody say that For those of you wondering what it's like to suck your own dick It feels way more like sucking a dick Than getting your dick sucked I'd never heard that so simply put before That's so cool I didn't know you talked to Marilyn Manson still But that's cool that you found that out It's on site for Big Marilyn, fuck him No, he can't, he can get touched He can get touched, but I don't want to His skin is too grey um not unlike um our our high somebody wanted us to talk about high rocks the high rocks do do do do gate you know what somebody who's an athlete like that if you're actually i see both sides like ed sheeran yeah i see both i see both sides like ed sheeran i think that look it's disgusting but if you've worked first of all high rocks is very weird and it seems like the ultimate it's like if crossfit was worse kind of but you're buff as hell but it's like it's the rule it's really intense i don't really know it's a lifestyle change i don't know anybody who does it nick from sweet green does it he's the only guy i know who does it and i think he excels in it and his body is he looks good as a result of it he's very strong i uh but i mean and he seems to be doing in a chic good way i just don't know when you see the guy at la guardia with the high rocks backpack on and you like they you know what they think that backpack looks like they think it looks like the fucking triathlon backpack and it's like it's like a mad dog rucksack kind of thing they just think it they think it says something that it doesn't like the the it just doesn't it doesn't say they think it's they think it's giving hockey bag but it's more like ballet something about it feels like tech adjacent even though i have nothing i have no proof of that at all i mean high rock sounds like a startup it doesn't it probably was at one point yeah but But I don't think that, I think that woman, I think that woman, I hate to say it, she did the right thing.

13:22You got to finish.

13:24Jason Stewart:We all know eating out in New York has become an extreme sport. If you treat dining out like a full-time obsession and care about the scene just as much as what's on the menu, you need to listen to Expense Account. Expense Account uses food as an entry point to bigger conversations about culture, identity, taste, and the way we live now. It treats every meal as a window into someone's life and the world at large. Hosted by Jay Lee, food critic at Emily Sundberg's Feed Me Media Empire. Each episode features Jay sitting down with guests like writer Molly Boz, chef Carla Lally, PBS host Patty Ginch, and so, so many more to explore how food and culture are inextricably linked.

14:07Jason Stewart:You might also hear from musicians, writers, tastemakers. I even recorded an episode with them as well on the cutting room floor even the bartender at Jay's favorite joint because everyone eats everyone has a story and everyone has a take Jason I recently went for a full panel you know with the doc went through all the shit and you know I felt like I know he was doing his best to explain it to me but I left feeling and this is not a new feeling for me I left feeling dumber about my own body and I need a fix for that and I feel like you might have it. Yeah, I feel like your insights were not insightful enough.

14:45Jason Stewart:We need to maintain our testosterone, our estrogen levels, our thyroids, our cortisol, and Superpower handles over 150 of those biomarkers, not just the 10 to 15 that you'll get from that dumb old doc. Blood draws are available at over 2 ,000 locations or just at home. Take control of your health with Superpower. For a limited time, our listeners get$20 off their Superpower membership. Head to superpower.com and use code howlong for$20 off. And after you sign up, they'll ask you how you heard about Superpower. Tell them how long gone sent you to support the show. Yeah, but it's not the woman's fault.

15:22Jason Stewart:It's Hyrox's fault. So you're saying it's just like when that person shit themselves at the Noah Khan concert or whatever. As the person who's the promoter of the event, if there is a fecal biohazard, you have a decision to make do we pull the plug you know like when somebody dropped the glass in the pool over here at the chateau do we clean it up and take a chance that there's a sliver that maybe we missed and a baby falls on it and cuts their eye open and we die or do we clean it all up and say it's good and then someone gets pink eye and they sue us for you know whatever do you do you have to drain the pool metaphorically speaking or do you get out the lysol wipes and go, hold the bitch off.

16:08You already know what the High Rocks competition smells like. It ain't good. It smells like rubber flooring. We don't want

16:16Jason Stewart:feces, but we could do it. Throw it in the pile. You know it smells like rubber mats and sweat and CVS products. It's like, it's not... Maybe there needs to be, every High Rocks course needs to have those drive-thru car wash self-contained things. somebody hits the big road shut it down and then the whole thing does a self clean it's like the eye wash stations for emergencies when you're in biology class for the amount of shit that's coming out I'm fine with that I'm fine with that whole thing it's disgusting and it's crazy that she has to do interviews about it but she also chose to finish people were mad that she was in the hospital bed being like I won suck it bitch I also shit all over the course If you win.

17:05Jason Stewart:I'm saying if you win. Yeah, but do we count that as also, to be clear, she has since given the award back and resigned from being the champion because I think she was... Too much heat. Doodoo bullied. Yeah, too much heat. But also, you know, if I'm in second place and I'm hot on this person's tails, like in Mario Kart, they're dropping the oil slicks everywhere. Like, that's going to hinder my ability to do my best if there's shit seen all over the course. If you want me to push the human body, you get what you get. Look, my little box jumps are going to be, I'm going to be afraid of where I land if there's going to be diureses.

17:44There's several issues on the course, okay? I'm sure. Again, I've never been on the course, but I'm sure there are several issues. Because it's not like the NBA. They don't have guys up there cleaning up the sweat. When DiCaprio spills his fucking Modelo on the court, they got somebody to rush over with a towel. High Rocks didn't have that kind of budget yet.

18:01Jason Stewart:there's a difference between a little Modelo and a little Moe Dudu

18:10Jason Stewart:yeah so yeah sorry that you forfeit the victory maybe you can put on some I was watching some college football yesterday and I think it was Deion Sanders he was doing Depends ads Neon Deion baby he knows how to get a check shout out to Neon Deion but it was like the the the the plastic bag that the pens are in are were black so it was like that's nice it was like a magnums but for this is not a bit i i but i was just putting it together right now because it's kind of like depends xl or like depends midnight you know what i mean and it's not that it's for black guys depends after dark bro you got depends magnum well because i can't carolyn and I were watching college football go miss but why would you watch first of all Carolyn was not watching she was in the room with you while it was on it was a it was a very heated game that ended crazily it came down to the are you gambling not at all not at all bro college football is that's I know you're trying to get into sports as you get older and I Saturday yeah there's you could do anything else college football is bigger than NFL I like I'm not mad at college football I'm just mad at you.

19:25This has nothing to do with God.

19:27Jason Stewart:This is me. Look, when the weekend comes and I'm doing my thing, I like having sports on television. Sometimes it's U.S. Open. Sometimes it's football. No, I get that. I get that. Sometimes it's World Cup. I think that's too far. I think college football is just such a – there's so much happening. There's so many teams and so many divisions. Well, luckily, I don't have a team or care. I'm only invested in the present of these two teams. You're like my dad. my dad's just like i like to watch it i want a good game i don't really care if if if notre dame wins don't give a fuck notre dame loses don't give a fuck but i will know i what i have noticed well anyway they had the commercial for for neon deon selling black um black to pants but i was um what was it yeah we were talking about the texas longhorns there was like a conspiracy on my twitter feed that suddenly the texas longhorn stadium has been taken over by indian guys and people are saying what happened to texas why is the whole school you know indian guys and then the camera panning to the crowd at a college game has different energy than at an nfl game because nfl game just like here's the fans it's a it's a melting pot it's everyone every race every walk of life fat skinny wheelchair you name it but this this the college and the the type of people that go there so when the camera pans to the old miss it is just the whitest of white southern rich people who are you know and it's so tickets ain't cheap brother it's not it's not it is not so it almost feels like the cameras for each college stadium are sort of like they're trying to brag about their faculty i mean i guess about their their student body yeah because it's like an advertising we go to student sections rowdy full sec it's all hotties you already know i know i read a great article in your magazine about about rush stuff and how crazy it is and how sorority is it getting worse or better it's just sort of like it's really insane and competitive and it's like really about being skinny which i guess it always was but now it's like extra crazy really yeah because it's like went back to eating disorder a little bit well it's like mom i want like i'm 18 but i need the penjamin because like i got to get into this sorority and like i'm already hot but like i want to be hotter the penjamin meaning uh we'll go glp yeah yeah yeah so it's like i think that's the whole thing it's like this is kind of dangerous not the and these chicks are like well our other option is cocaine so you tell me what's kind of the vibe i was like i want to get in do you want to get in how mommy got in or do you want to take this shot exactly exactly mommy's fine mommy's fine mommy used to crush up a few different pills yeah all right pete keith bro that fucking what was you said it was it was a mix of kratom and ketamine ketamine and kratom i think i didn't know we were i didn't i thought i always thought about in my mind that kratom was sort of like a replacement for real drugs but i guess it's if you use it enough real yeah it's it yeah yeah yeah if you you it can be abused but yeah a lot of people use it to get off of opioids because it has a few similar when i needed it the heli thank god it wasn't there because you gotta be hooked on the crate it was a it was a crutch it currently is a crutch for when i go crate digging it means a little something different i'm not looking for the lps as somebody who has wallowed in the swamps a decent amount there is a sense of euphoria that you get from it that i mean i've i've never i've never done heroin and i never liked oxycodone so but i have done similar stuff where you get that opioid kind of hit and there is some of that warm euphoria from kratom and i'm going to stop talking about it to you right now why do you see my eyes lighting up like a no i i just i know that's the song i only have eyes for you the 50s doo-wop song that was going through your mind when i know it's like that but is it you you can literally get it anywhere still like it's still like a gas station thing it is but the real shit there's stepped on versions and there's there's a1 shit and the a1 shit do you have to get on the dark web or like a head shop it's some it's somewhere in the middle yeah like you can get them at like gray area but it's like it's like a peptide like it's not like a dealer thing no no no it's like it's like a husband and wife in denver who get it from wherever and they just run it out of the garage and like i hope it's good yeah yeah yeah and they'll have they'll have like real shit but it comes from a natural source correct yeah it's a leaf okay well just like cocaine yeah fine by me but for for some people and just like heroin for some people you take it you barf and go to the hospital and then some people are like i'll do that again yeah i mean i just can't what if you make ice cream out of having to tell your homie that you're addicted to kratom is i mean we know people who are who are addicted to kratom and it's a thing that is like it's embarrassing you know what i mean it's almost more embarrassing than heroin because you're like how did i fuck around and get hooked on this shit it's crazy you can get it at the gas station or whatever at the head shop but i guess that's where that's the society we're moving towards yeah that's where we at um yeah i was telling you earlier i emptied out the bathroom drawer and the and i would recommend this to all my fellows out there who live with their chick the drawer in the bathroom carolyn was like i know that whenever we move out of this house you're going to take this drawer and just dump everything straight into a trash can.

24:52Jason Stewart:It's just a collection catch-all. Let's just do that now. Of all the dumb shit. But this was unprompted. I did it myself. Good doggie. Good doggie. Emptied it all out. And then I went and sprayed and cleaned. And then just the mental feeling of the bathroom drawer only having four things in it. That sounds really nice. It's a panty dropper. Because I don't even want to know what your drawer is looking like. I don't. Actually, well, it's more of a cabinet, unfortunately, size-wise. There's a, there's, it's mostly stuff that will get you. Luckily in our house, if there's too much stuff, Alex takes the office and everybody's like, this is amazing.

25:30Like, why do you have all these unopened beauty products?

25:34Jason Stewart:Oh, like, like to give out to people. Yeah. Like, yeah. I used to, not to like have it in the bathroom. Like, no, no. Like you guys take the shit. I'll do it. I used to do a J crew too. It's like, I would get a box of 30 things and I would want three of them. And I'm like, well, people want this stuff. This is like stuff people use and pay for. I would much rather pay it forward. Give it to the interns. Pay it forward, yeah, for sure. Okay. And that's the best way to do it, I find. You don't have access to that kind of stuff. Well, I have access to people who, you know, family. I know, but just being able to take it somewhere and drop it off and it be gone, it's a good feeling.

26:12It's the easiest, cleanest way to get it done. It feels better when you put it straight into the trash. You know that, Chris. I wasn't going to say that, but as a guy who's searching for a high, I know what that feels like. Satisfying sound when it hits the bottom of the can. That big old thwump. Hits the VIP in the bathroom.

26:28Jason Stewart:It's kind of like when you're addicted to a nerd's rope gummies or something. Do I systematically eat them one by one throughout the day or do I cram 10 in my mouth all at once and get a real head rush? Am I dropping the AB moisturizers one by one straight into the trash sure do i ab would never hit the trash but there's stuff that see where your line like alex brought home a bunch of stuff from somewhere and she left it in the bag i'm looking through it i'm like you ain't you ain't using this i'm gonna pick out the three things that look the best keep them and now she's addicted to one of them one of the lip you know and i was like see i have an eye for this stuff i'm not beating the allegations but i have an eye for you're the picker i'm the picker american picker i've noticed that i'm the picker in my relationship now we talk about it somebody's got to go through it all.

27:14Jason Stewart:Carolyn's the planner. I'm the picker. Unfortunately, I think I'm both, which is bad, but that's maybe. You're planning on a pick and working for a living? Who picks for the picker, right? That's what I say every day to my therapist. No one knows what it's like to be the sad man. No, when I hit better help, that's the first thing I'm asking. Who picks for me? Who picks for the picker? I went to a, before I left on Friday, we went to the Joyce Theater for a dance. Oh, this is the Sinead O 'Connor ballet which i'm truly jealous of it was fucking sick because it was like all could you say like nothing compares to it they didn't even play that that's even the better thing good lord they played it clean up on i'm like relatively familiar with shanate o 'connor's music but i maybe not i was like there's some fucking slap all this shit hits all this shit hits and the dance they had pews they were part like it was the dancers on stage with pews and they were doing wild shit with the pews it was really impressive like some rosalia shit from like a strength perspective it's like a 60 year old woman with just our insane arms like they're lifting up the 60 year old ballet there were several older women in this one it was great hour and 10 yeah cook shop before had a delicious piece of fish some pasta head down to the day i'm asleep get up 4am for the airport no problem because you know them 60 year olds ain't doing the late show they ain't doing the 11 15 start time the problem with the dance stuff the problem for me i know this is annoying for alex and the people around me i can't sit still i'm always uncomfortable um because you're because you don't have drugs in you no just because like i'm just sort of like your chairs chairs are always uncomfortable it's a little bit too tight i can't i can't i cross my leg i uncross my leg i sit up i slouch i can't i can't get comfortable what if you i mean this is something I talk about all the time whenever I go on a plane you know somebody you know a flight attendant or whatever they talk about how tall I am and blah blah blah and you know and I'll say something along the lines of you know it's it's it's I'm I would rather be super tall than super short yeah except for you know when I'm on an airplane or something there's a few exceptions baseball game you know any type of stadium seating is going to be fucked up for us tallies but I'm sure I mean an hour and 10.

29:35Jason Stewart:No, it's fine. Exactly. That's what I'm saying. That's like not a lot of time. How much of it is your body size and just overall pain from the weight of, of being a, you know, a human being who's in their middle ages and how much of it is your attention deficit disorder? I think it's most, that's a great question. Cause I don't, I'm not like thinking about looking at my phone cause it's pretty captivating for an hour. You know what I mean? I can, I can handle it. What if you had, you know, um, our friend of the show, Jordan Berry, like he, he had a he has a little vape the little vape bar kind of thing and he's like they're starting to have a little squishy like oh stress ball like it's like somewhere because like there's the stress ball but then like little kids now are into like the squishy slimy yeah yeah squisher things so it's like to make sure that kids start vaping even earlier we install your you know your seven-year-old's favorite squisher into the mint mango mocha lata you know so if you had imagine if i'm such a loser i have to bring a stress toy for an hour-long dance performance out brother it's not it's not out of the question i honestly can't fidget spin it'll be but it really bothers it really bothers me because i know it's i like could tell lady next to me was sort of like what's wrong with this guy and i'm like i i'm just so uncomfortable i can't stop moving i don't want to do it and it has nothing to do with the performance i just i don't know you didn't think that you are i mean you thought at some point in your life you would grow out of having ants in your pants exactly and i think it's getting worse is what the problem is well i mean you're not getting taller but your pain level is increasing and then as you get older it's just so it must be the add it must be shit that's even scarier it's even scarier i would never you don't you don't like going to the movies because you, you can't look at your phone, right?

31:23Yeah. But something about a dance performance is actually, it's somewhere between music and a movie. So it kind of works for me more than a movie. Movies are much more boring to me than people like doing something physical. That's like relatively impressive, no matter what the kind of the,

31:38Jason Stewart:even if it is just one dimensional, just bodies and movement. I couldn't stop. I couldn't stop fidgeting. And then again, I stand up. I feel like I'm released from jail. You know, when the show's over, I'm fucking, and I'm moving, I'm grooving, I'm shaking, I'm baking. Yeah, maybe as well as baking. I think maybe you have to perpetually keep moving so much that the famous Don Draper quote, you only like the beginnings of things. You know what I mean? Like we want to, now what, now what? Even if it is good, even if it is amazing, it's still, we're still, there's a time limit on it. It's like, hey, we're going to go in the jacuzzi yeah and you know like that sounds amazing but after you know everyone 20 minutes the number comes faster than you think it's going to come where you're like i think i've sat in this water long enough even though it is pure heaven you're right you know you kind of hit a wall and the same thing with with every anything that you're doing you're right i just i was really frustrated with myself i was like this is fucking annoying i have to figure this out admitting recognizing the issue is a big first step admitting it especially on record on a huge podcast available on spotify pineapple big next step you know yesterday i i got here and the room wasn't ready i went to equinox got my got my we hope pump with all the fellas and then i came back here and i just sort of i had a stack of magazines i'd brought from new york and i just sat downstairs in the shade at the pool and just read them damn and i was some 2003 shit right here i was like this feels so good you know imagine if that was if those were all like us weeklies and shit that's the problem it was like harper's and in the new yorker so unfortunately i had to like pay attention you had some thought it wasn't it wasn't pictures of nicole ritchie leaving somewhere so i had to concentrate but i was like i did this and of course i was looking at my phone and shit but not crazy and i was like i gotta really i do it at home sometimes but it's easier like with a it's just easy i really like i've become that kind of old guy that keeps his magazines until it's time for the plane get on the plane fly through them leave leave them on the plane when i'm done with nothing feels better nothing feels better that's good i mean that's you're you're teaching yourself to really sit down and create the set and setting to enjoy it the most and also you fly so much and it's such a good feeling why not i didn't i didn't look i didn't watch any yesterday on that flight i didn't watch anything i slept in red only for six hours and i was very proud of myself because i had i had next gen nyc down the reunion part one downloaded on my phone yeah well when i came home from new york i hit a little hail project hail mary wow don't know why it's it's a movie about ryan gosling becoming friends with a rock animal and it's sort of like his dog and best it was really popular though it was like people loved it very popular but you know the when they when you see a trailer for a movie it's like a hot guy in space and it's probably going to have like a random 80s kind of soundtrack you know because millennials made it it had a lot of I was watching I also watched a little bit of Supergirl and Carolyn was like this is a what song was that fuck I forgot it's like the boy and girl oh Sleigh Bells there's a Modest Mouse song Sleigh Bells absolutely rocks holds up that song is so good I'm gonna let you hold that no that song is amazing actually every time I hear it it's crazy how good this song was and how it's sort of like kind of a crazy song and it's the guy from poison the well it all all the factors are crazy it was a special time when that all happened special time but all these all these movies are having people our age you know and millennials and whatever they're becoming supervisors on these marvel films so i'm like i'm glad sleigh bells and modest mouse and whoever else got a little checkiana i guess it's a big Chequiana.

35:38I mean that movie bombed. Yes. I saw her. I was in the airport lounge with her as that was getting destroyed in London and I was like I was looking at her to see if she had pain in her eyes and I'm like well she got paid too much to probably. I mean it'll probably be a small setback but.

35:54Jason Stewart:Yeah yeah yeah. I mean it'll end up breaking even by the you know when it's all said and done with the toys or whatever. Hopefully there's a McDonald's toy that we can do a commercial for. But yeah she made her three million dollars or whatever she's all good did you see um there's a lot happening online right now we got ed well not even ed we got we got channing tatum with the burner yeah i saw arca's got arca twitter got hacked no hell no yeah i opened up twitter on the way here I seen Arca giving away 10 MacBooks. I said, they hacked the doll.

Read the full transcript

36:34Arca said, invest in my coin. You're like, wait a second. Hold on. I don't think Arca's into that type of shit.

36:40Jason Stewart:So no strings attached that I can get the big MacBook? You're saying 16 inch. No, Channing Tatum, they're saying that Channing Tatum has a burner that comments positively on pictures of him and shit about him and negatively on shit about Zoe Kravitz and Harry Styles. and it's and it only follows one person who is chanting Tatum which is almost like I hope no one catches me. It's so funny that it's cool honestly. And he's just dumb enough to like not know how to do it. But the comments that he's making aren't that mean. It's not like you know what I mean like a burner usually is people being like gnarly.

37:12It's just him being like they don't look happy. You know it's like. Not for me. She's actually not that nice of a person. It's like that kind of vibe. It's really funny.

37:20Jason Stewart:Someone didn't get eight hours last night. I hope it's true because Dumois is also I think it has to be true Gawney winner Mary Beth Barone walking over the Williamsburg Bridge with Joe Alwyn who's also now same weekend walking over the bridge with Sarah Pidgeon again Joe's almost like I guess a queen maker as you know like you you gotta kiss the thing but I'm saying they're saying Mary Beth and him are in a project together so they could just be it could be work related but either way we're running sides at Borgo it's a good look for everybody I think because he's sort of just a kind of a hottie that doesn't, I don't know him from anything besides dating Taylor Swift.

37:58Nobody knows what he does. But I'm like, man, you gotta go.

38:01Jason Stewart:He goes to the park in a J.W. Anderson t-shirt and just, you know, looks at a tree. He's looking at butterflies with Sarah Pidgeon. It's good stuff. Good for him. But we gotta talk about Ed, I guess. Mm-hmm. I've never seen. They got Ed. They got Ed. And Ed fucked up bad with the, you look, man. as a person who recently used a teleprompter I wouldn't read my apology off a teleprompter you gotta memorize it or freestyle it I didn't watch it I just saw some photos but you can see him looking down at the pre-recorded the same way you can tell because it's not the good kind where it's eye level it's gotta be down a little literally just what we were dealing with the other day so you gotta look at it if you wanna look at it but man And he, that, I feel bad for him with that.

38:51Jason Stewart:Or have, he's got, he already has the in-ear monitor, have your manager off the side feeding you lines or whatever it is. Or, I don't know, you're a multi-million dollar once-in-a-lifetime talent who is known for improvising music and lines and performing live. Do a one-minute speech. Doesn't need to be a whole fucking 20-minute thing. One minute. You know what makes me the most mad about this? It's not Ed being a I just see both sides guy. It's people trying to now act like Macklemore is good. And it's like you can be on the right side of history politically and still be a stain on American culture.

39:32And let's not let's not. We're not going to do that. We're not going to. We're not. He can have good politics. I will give him credit for that. We're not going to give him credit for anything else. I'm not going to let that happen.

39:42Jason Stewart:Luckily, it doesn't seem like people are trying to do that. I think most people are siding with you, but they're just not saying the quiet part out loud. Like you have the bravery to do so. And I agree. And I think most people are, you know, I've seen some memes of like the reluctant Jay-Z listening, you know, like me trying to force myself to listen to Macklemore music or whatever. But I think most people are saying like, you know, let it be known and clear. Macklemore is still awful. And how did he even get on there? but you know because saying free palestine is a good thing to do in front of an audience but it's not necessarily going to completely reverse people's thoughts you can't we have to separate the art from the artists yeah if james franco said free palestine people would still be like you're still james franco yeah they don't give a fuck yeah yeah i just think that i ed ed fucked up but i you made a really interesting point yesterday in the group chat which i've been thinking about a lot is that ed obviously fucked up with the political side of it but he also by sort of not not by accident but i guess by virtue of the situation he looks like he's also siding with robert craft and all the billionaires which is is almost as bad of a thing to do in today's climate yeah saying yeah i was saying like him basically taking direction from a billionaire stadium owner who's you know his his interest is other billionaire people who own stadiums who produce you know live nation large-scale events that's the company line that he's siding with versus you know whatever so that that's almost more damning than it is to some people that's more damning my favorite part of all of this is that yeah i mean because i don't know of anyone necessarily that thinks that ed sheeran himself like wants palestinian people to die no he doesn't he definitely doesn't he's just he just wasn't he wasn't standing ten toes down and i also i mean my favorite part of this is that all right your openers yeah whatever all the openers quit bro your own band quit your own band quit is is that's unheard of stuff i've never seen that i've never seen it before and similar to what we were talking about the the cfda guy when we were saying like should you know what's going to happen with him should ed sheeran be forced to step down from you know quote unquote the board of whoever like at some point is somebody going to be like let's just kind of like the high rocks thing like enough shit has been let's just close it down hose it off we'll come back again next year after some whatever like at one at what point do they do they just call it you know what i mean i mean i think that it could get to that point i mean but the thing is then at live nation looks you know it's just everybody everybody kind of looks bad except macklemore which i think is what is the most fascinating thing about this but it's it's an interesting it's yeah macklemore if you're listening you ain't out yet no you're still down there no no we ain't let you out of the cage no no you're we ain't letting you out You can go for a walk with your parents?

42:53No. That's about it. Dude, look, yeah, I'm happy you got this little shine for being right once, but you still did, what's the song called? Thrift Store? Don't go back and do it. What's his name? Where's his boy? I forgot. Ryan Lewis. Where's Ryan Lewis at? Where's Ryan Lewis? I'm surprised we ain't got somebody knocking on Ryan Lewis. Stereogum sent somebody to ask how Ryan Lewis feels.

43:12Jason Stewart:Free Ryan Lewis. Free Ryan Adams. Free the guys. Free the Ryans, bro. Free the Ryans. Free the Ryans. Yeah. Macklemore, you've got a lot of money. You're a great artist. You can create so much stuff. Just make sure it's not music and we're all good money. Do whatever you got to do. Produce some movies. Jim Carrey art. Do that. Do whatever you want. Yeah, dude. Do some Alec Monopoly style painting. Start building some large scale model airplanes. I'm down for you to do anything but make music. Now people like you, don't waste this. Bro, get the garden going. Because he was reviled until this moment.

43:45Literally reviled. And he's now popular for making a political statement, which is a very rare thing to get popular for, I would say.

43:53Jason Stewart:And 10 years ago, he went on stage wearing a Jewish mask. Do you remember that? Yeah, Bob Lefsatz doesn't forget that. Yeah, he wore a Jewish mask that had an exaggerated nose, let's say. There's just no winning. There's just no winning. There's no winning. I mean, Macklemore said, I'm going to put on the Rabbi Shmooley mask, and that's all good. The Shmooley instead of the Shiesty. That's what he did. Yeah, I'm going to throw on the ASAP Shmooley. Everything's fine. I'm going to say Free Palestine, everything's fine. He's playing both sides. It's this whole shit. But yeah, Ed, just step down.

44:38Jason Stewart:At this point, the only people who are going to go to an Ed Sheeran concert in good faith, I don't know. like they couldn't get the babysitter to switch dates. No, it's people that are like. It's people who need Ed Sheeran's music like blood, like religion. It's people. I don't know. To me, it's more people who are like, I don't care about any of this. I just want to see my daughter's favorite musician. Yeah. This isn't my problem. Like I don't. Yeah, how much of it is parents and kids? Because kids probably don't know about all this drama. Genocide? No, I don't think they do. I don't know. I wonder.

45:17I mean, the ticket prices are affordable enough where we could go check it out any night of the week for under$30 ,000. Oh, who wants to pay for it?

45:25Jason Stewart:Vice Magazine, I went to an Ed Sheeran concert on fucking toad venom.

45:34Well, I wonder what the – because he had to do the speech last night. So where does it go from here is the question. Like what does the next show look like, you know?

45:42Jason Stewart:yeah i mean no like no one's in the mood ed's not in the mood to perform front of house back of house everybody nobody wants nobody wants his own cousin has come out being like told y 'all this motherfucker's a bitch blood your only yeah your your whole your family's being like i told you he was an asshole the thing about ed sheeran i've always heard over the years as someone who's made fun of him and for you know his touch whatever people are like the thing about it is he rules he's a good hang everybody has told me that over the years like skrillex syndrome anybody that knows him is like nah he's he's a good hang blah blah blah which is i mean that still could be true but he's a good hang nobody wants to hang with him anymore share a pint with him you know this is fine this is just too yeah there's just such a i mean he was put in an impossible position in many ways but if i'm in that room i'm telling him you sorry bro we can't go with craft we gotta we gotta like yeah but you gotta come out and say six year old obviously evil billionaire yeah like you gotta you gotta whatever the boss says like even if i'm just a little street bus even if you're on the wrong even if you are fucked up and you're like you know what I'm down.

46:59I'm IDF Ed. Like, even if that is how you feel, you're people, and you should be like, I know I can't. I know I have to go the other way. It's crazy.

47:10Jason Stewart:I'm IDF Ed. I don't think he feels that way. That's the problem. No. He's not giving free press. He's not giving Bari Weiss. But he's got it. IDF Ed, ASAP Bari Weiss. It's all. Oh, man. It's tough, bro. It's tough. And then another insane-looking redhead guy covered in tattoos, Carrot Top. I mean, obviously, it's very sad that he has attempted suicide and he's a troubled person. He's getting extorted. What hilarious guy isn't, you know what I mean? Yeah. But I was wondering if you've thought of any other examples, but is this the first suicide attempt to be ratioed online where like more people made jokes about his suicide than sent heartfelt condolences or whatever look look we're part of the problem in most ways with stuff like this we we as in you and i or society let me us but then it really is like we don't like the the way that we sort of interpret things like this that are like actually so dark and sad and make everything a joke and i I don't, it's only going to get worse.

48:29Like, we're part of the problem. I'll do it too. But you're right. It's like, I haven't seen anybody say like, damn, pray for Carrot Top. It's only like.

48:35Jason Stewart:I've seen a couple. For every joke. It's mostly just people trying to get jokes off. Yes. Yeah. And it is all society's darkness. He was getting extorted. He was getting extorted. Really? I didn't know that. Yeah, they're saying there was like someone was extorting him for a sex tape. bro you need the sex tape unless it's serving micro but i mean yeah because society is so dark i'm looking at drudge report and we got ed sheeran cross-eyed ass photo on there you know because it's big news and then you know seven lines down no photo just a little carrot top you know attempted suicide thingy drudge can't have two people who look like that too it'll be too much and we got miley over here with her gums on you know on the left arts and entertainment you know what else we need to talk about another tragedy dakota johnson machine gun kelly look look i know you like rockers bad stuff i know you like rockers you can't go from tuck the goat to mgk one of the worst of all time the woke dj you're blowing it dakota any you like musicians they're hard to date i got a mil I got a million guys in my life that are professional musicians that would be a better option.

49:52Jason Stewart:Can you imagine getting Dakota Johnson ick? Dude. This seems impossible. It's virtually impossible. MGK said, hello. She's wearing a see-through shirt with MGK. You can't even concentrate on what's important. You're only worried about MGK. That's why your wind's low. Yeah. I mean, once you start dating MGK, it makes Skeet Davidson look like fucking. Skeet's marriage material. Skeet's a prince. I'm sure that Machine Gun Kelly is charming. I mean, obviously, he's a pretty big star for a reason. I'm sure he has his charms. Probably a great guy. I'm sure he's a great guy. But that feels like something your parents call you.

50:34Like your Hollywood parents are like, look, we let it go for a while, but this is too far.

50:40Jason Stewart:Do you think her team has had a sidebar? I bet Don Johnson himself. Don probably is like what the fuck are you doing From DJ to DJ we need to have a talk We need to DJ one one I mean I think Wait who did MGK he had the kid with What's her name the baddie Yeah Turbo Thought Megan Fox Don Johnson would be like I'll let it slide cause he got Megan I see that Cause dads will look like If you took down Megan Fox in the prime And you're a Don Johnson age you like for listeners at home i'm giving dap to chris just a little down though like all right yo i see you i see you but it's it's crazy and and hopefully they met at taylor swift's house there's just a lot happening here and i'm praying for dakota because that how does mgk get invited to taylor swift house he is a wankster that's what i'm saying because these people don't know that taylor swift's been famous too long she can't judge that do i need to come around on mgk i it feels like it would be one hang and you'd be like Alright, I get it.

51:44But the music is...

51:46Jason Stewart:Yeah, the music is atrocious. But he probably smokes good, eats good, lives good. No, I'm sure it's totally fine. I'm sure if we had dinner... The body is fucking insane. I'm sure if we had dinner... He's got the blackout tattoo. I'm sure if we had dinner with MGK, it would be totally fine. I still don't want him taking down A-listers. He show up wearing JNCOs, dressing like hometown. He doesn't even have JNCOs. He has other shit. He has shit we don't even understand. He had the JNCO Margielas. He has the, it's just, it's crazy what he looks like. But Dakota, she has range. I'll give her that.

52:17She loves a fucking sexy white boy.

52:20Jason Stewart:Chris Martin and role model, they're cut from the same. Yeah, imagine being Chris Martin. You wake up, look at your phone. You say, my ex-chick is with MGK. Good lord. He's like, all right, look, Gwyneth, I get it. No, Gwyneth, that's a moose head above the fireplace. you show the grandkids that that's crazy man but mgk unless unless you're trying to brag to your like 11 year old niece everyone's going to be like oh i look at you differently but maybe like i said maybe it's time to take a take a third look at mgk take a third look third look at mgk um do we want to talk about the ghanies at all or yeah sure we got carrot top in the news no i mean yeah i yeah I feel like we didn't really talk about it because we were just, it was a whirlwind, but yeah, thank you for everyone.

53:13Yeah.

53:13Jason Stewart:We were like five minutes on the intro. Thank for everyone who came. It was fun. I mean, it was sort of, it wasn't really fun for us, but it seemed like it was fun for everybody in the room, which is all that matters. Yeah. We were too, uh, what I was saying before it is, is LeBron having fun when it's the fourth quarter and you gotta, you know, make the win happen now, but he's focused on excellence. And so were we, um, you know, I didn't even drink that much. Did you not? I had, I had one, I had a tequila soda. It was a big one, but I had tequila soda that I nursed throughout the night. And then I had a couple of beers afterwards, of course.

53:46Jason Stewart:And then I did other stuff afterwards. Yeah. Then I stayed up till four in the morning. Yeah. How could you not? It's crazy to stay up that late. Did you change clothes? I did not change clothes. Staying up that late in a tuxedo. But I did have different shoes. I changed into some more, some like chill kind of loafers out of the wooden sold. Oh, okay. That's smart. You're on your feet. Yeah. What kind of music? What kind of music? Were you and George going B2B? We were going 3-2B with VTSS. Oh, wow. Three CDJs, one cup, and you could smoke inside. So it was. Okay. Who was, who, what were you, what was the genre of music?

54:29Obviously it ebbs and flows.

54:31Jason Stewart:It was ebbing and flowing. I would say VTSS obviously playing techno remixes of stuff. I would say the overall theme was playing dumb, silly shit more so than we're going to have a serious night of clubbing. But you couldn't get away with Blur. Way worse than Blur. No, I know worse. No, they played Blur. Okay. I think George always plays Blur. George definitely played Blur. But I mean, they were playing fucking LMFAO and shit. Okay, it's like that. They were going full. Remixes, though? or like just the straight up both some some straight up originals some just straight up like here's the here's the black eyed pea song but there was enough young people in there for it to be you know post ironic yeah sure enjoyable yeah i play you know i played some dumb shit as well i played like katie perry california girls and you know just gay bops um charlie she had the brightest idea she's like put on she wolf now and she will destroy put on it's code red put on she wolf now put it on now bro i i used to play she wolf when it first came out i would play it all the time and it was like a little bit of a sleep it was like a robin b side like for those who know kind of thing and i looked on spotify she wolf has like half a billion streams on it's like 400 something million streams on there just decimating other songs of hers that we we sort of know as can on interesting because it's such like a sleeper gay music video night song and it's a beautiful song it's very it was sort of like abba maxing yeah and this this song came out at you know 10 years ago at least yeah yeah maybe maybe around 10 years ago but i used to play it all the time had great you know great string section had a it was just a it's an amazing pop song i'm surprised nobody has we haven't taken that to the bbc live lounge where's the where's the umru remix or something it's just around the corner um but yeah um shout out to our our man connor over at threads for blessing us with the threads carpet i was able to download threads and i've poked around and i feel like it really is like a perfect like 50 50 mix between twitter and instagram it that's the i think that's sort of which obviously is the idea but so like for every you know every time you see a post of like here's my work or like i'm a graphic designer my cpg branding whatever thingy there's like three things where it's like you know this i the iphone the new iphone 18 aperture looks like my pussy or like you know we're still having fun we're still having fun with it yeah we're still i can't believe like getting into the muck of twitter i didn't even fucking i told alex i would give her the 18 because i was like i don't i i like i want to play with it but like i like my air and she's so excited and she loves it now i'm like all right well i guess you get to keep it well i mean you you may have received this phone pro bono yeah i did so then you can just buy yourself one i put up a video today of sam an apple card i've put up the video today of sam using the the duo i saw that it's did you get approval from from turn i saw other people post it okay but i i i was like i i think we talked about this a little bit but i was really impressed the way it felt it was kind of crazy it was kind of crazy a lot of people have asked me about i'm like i don't know exactly who's going to use this but it feels when you felt the 18 in your hand or when you felt the fold in your hand both i mean 18 is big but the camera's crazy 18 is big it's a handful for me it's a handful i don't understand how that would even work did you get yours yet no i have not received it yet but driving up here i saw the billboard and it says they come out in like a month like a month from it's like the 23rd of october yeah i think you're i think you're right so if i do end up getting one from my beautiful cupertino family You got to go blow minds at the AT &T stove.

58:37Jason Stewart:Even if it comes one day before drop date, I would love to just walk around the Americana Apple store with my little folder and be like, oh, it's not out yet? That's so weird. I got mine a little while ago. Yeah. It's so, yeah. I can only imagine the kind of people that would notice that and want to talk about it. Apple, I'll take the baby blue. I'll take the grapefruit. Grapefruit? I mean, sorry. Eggplant. Aubergine. Oh, aubergine's not bad. Because the colors are like kind of like burgundy purple and a baby blue. It's very... there's a black one of course quebecois listeners it's very montreal expo's 1980 color story great color story um we we yeah so yeah shout out to connor we love y 'all um yeah thank you for everybody who sponsored thank you for everybody who came out to everyone from apple who came out thanks to all the performers of course you guys did us a solid jay mascus i guess saw a lot of photos a lot of story replies being like well if anyone was wondering who is going to play you can just look at that guitar and you know yeah it's good unmistakable you got the baby purple curly squishy cable plugged into the a lot of people thought we were that we had something to do with him playing the cure cover and i was like no no i think i think jay doesn't know who we are but he knew who the audience was i disagree i think jay knows more i was i was building with jay's wife his wife's awesome or at least his baby mom's i'm assuming wife and his son who just got into pratt i think he had the jordans on yeah he was looking clean he was looking clean but uh you know jay jay doesn't give you much as we all know if you listen to his episode of how long gone but i think he's he's more all-seeing than i'm sure oh i'm sure i'm sure i i of course he's got his finger on the pulse there's a chance he's even listening right now when i talked to brad when i after neurosis soundcheck i talked to brad and i was like how'd it go he's like he just told us what the chord was and then said just do your thing i was like they were like do you want to brad was like oh do you want us to kind of like match the the album version he's like no it's like e minor like just do whatever and they were like all right and then somebody was saying like he's not even playing the song the way it sounds on the album he's just playing it in a different kind of slower it was awesome meandering it was quite good yeah i kept saying this is the first time in a while where i've seen a band play or a musical performance where it was like i'm gonna create improvised art right up here you know with my body he he was playing and he walked off stage with his long cable and went downstairs and came back up and pure improvised music with the band and you would never have guessed that they hadn't rehearsed the song before not even once it's crazy It all just worked, and it's rare when you watch a band play, and you're like, oh, I'm watching art versus people play a song.

1:01:21I mean, I'm a little upset. The run of show got fucked up for my debut, but they'll be next year. Morvy fucking dropped the ball.

1:01:28Jason Stewart:I don't know if you're that upset about it. But maybe do you like singing in front of a crowd? Well, I'm saying I got pumped up because we rehearsed it. So I was like, all right, fuck it. I guess I'm doing this. You got third-eyed blind blue balls. Brad, they're all too encouraging. they're all like too nice about it because everyone wants to see your fucking little ass up there singing doing what they do every night it was just brad's just like you and then i mean i look whether whether it would have been good or not they don't want to see you fail they're just well they don't want to see me fail the entire audience wants to see me fail not not my friends and family i sent you a little song it was all right they didn't they know they don't want to see me fail but we'll come around to it was it was fun even to rehearse it was fun but even to be nominated exactly they'll be next year um i think that's it how long gone yeah that's it how long gone thank you guys for listening thanks for a whirlwind week we're back i'm back in la my body's feeling normal again i'm not drinking every night of the week smoking cigarettes every night of the week but it was good to finally end it at um at the at the club with charlie over at friend of the show ellie ellie escobar's club oh is that where it was yeah in in brooklyn it's called starts with a g like genevieve giardinera genevieve i didn't realize that was his i didn't realize that was his yeah it's his spot and i god i feel bad that i missed it but he opened and of course he fucking slayed he's so good at gg it's crazy um thank you guys for listening howlonggone.com is the website we're back next week with with more podcasts as usual we'll see you then thank you SOS, she's in this dance.
