In short

Rewatch recap of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 7 episodes 9 & 10, focusing on the John Waters-themed musical/acting challenges, the “poo/eggs” skits, runway looks, and the resulting eliminations and lip-syncs. They also debate production choices (Untucked format shift, challenge song selection) and share behind-the-scenes memories.

Guests (backgrounds)

Trixie Mattel (drag performer/comedian; known for roast-style reads and musical theater/character work) and Katya (drag performer; often discusses performance craft and behind-the-scenes details). They reference Ginger Minj, Kennedy Davenport, Pearl, Fame, Violet, and others from Season 7.

Key claims

The John Waters musical number was “unforgivable” and poorly matched to the contestants; the “poo” word choice and song were grating and hard to stage. The Untucked/production format felt demoralizing and not like a real show. Ginger’s egg-skitting performance was Oscar/Tony-level; Fame’s lip-sync was extremely boring.

Notable examples

Egg-chucking rehearsal details (raw eggs, lingering rotten-egg smell on hip pads); Kennedy as an old grandma in “eggs, eggs, eggs”; Violet’s tape-face mini-challenge; the “Country Robot” and “Charleston twerk” mashups; Pearl winning the lip-sync while Fame is eliminated.

1:48Katya Zamolodchikova:And I should never.

1:49Trixie Mattel:There's a reason why I was nominated and I won. What is it? It's an award for dance. Why are you like that? I'm incredulous. What happens if I actually have done something and I get recognized?

2:02Katya Zamolodchikova:Well, it's like when Neil Armstrong landed on the moon.

2:10Trixie Mattel:What is it really? It's an award for dance.

2:13Katya Zamolodchikova:What are you talking about?

2:15Trixie Mattel:I actually, can I say?

2:22Katya Zamolodchikova:No, I won't. But you know what?

2:23Trixie Mattel:You know, I could say a lot of things. I could be mother goose. I could get disgraced though. and it could be taken away from me in the next year. And then I have to stripped of your metal of my, my crown. Oh my God. I want to say, I love to dance. I would have never thought that I would receive an award for it, but here we are. Well, honey, if it's at the cheetah and ain't dancing, I know that much. What I worry about is what if somebody who's a professional dancer was nominated in that category and was like, wait a minute.

2:45Katya Zamolodchikova:Yeah. What if I'm fucking, um,

2:47Trixie Mattel:you know, Henry goldenblatt or whatever. But I think, I think it's voting related and Trixie and Katya fans are like those spam Uber East accounts with the multiple phones in the wall. Oh yeah, they're ready.

2:58Katya Zamolodchikova:It's giving Russian bot. We got teenage girls who are at home voting.

3:03Trixie Mattel:Not just voting.

3:04Katya Zamolodchikova:Good luck out voting us. Not just voting, baby. They're patched into several mainframes in different countries. Hackers. Hackers. Yeah. I still would love to know which dance performance this receiving moment is. I think it's just like the energy. I don't honestly.

3:19Trixie Mattel:Stop. Shut up. It's not for one thing. It's like a creator award, best dancer. I don't know how that's happening.

3:25Katya Zamolodchikova:Is this a loophole? It's like the Golden Globes when they put August Osage County and Best Comedy or Musical. I mean, they didn't do that. Okay. Yeah. Well, nevertheless, congratulations. Thank you. Yeah. Thank you. So well-deserved. I mean, you're not - Stay mad. You're not - No, listen. I'm going to give it up because it takes a lot of calories to really be a hater. And I just want to congratulate you on your well-deserved and very, very well-deserved success. Thank you.

3:49Trixie Mattel:Smile while you still can, Bix. Bix. Bix. You Botox bitch. Before I bust all your front teeth out, you fucking fat bitch. So, okay. We're in this episode here. We lost Jaden Dewar Fierce last week. R.I.P. We lost her to tuberculosis. We lost her to tuberculosis. The lip sync was Tiffany. I think we're alone now. Which is funny for twins.

4:14Katya Zamolodchikova:Yes. Very funny. Very funny. Although Break Free could have been also really good by Ariana previously used. Break Free. Break Free.

4:20Trixie Mattel:So we open this episode.

4:22Katya Zamolodchikova:That is a very, they don't do that witty kind of like nod anymore.

4:27Trixie Mattel:They do like, do you remember when they did the all black and white looks and then they did like Bloody Mary? I thought it was Colors of the Wind. That would have been funny. They do sometimes pick them for the thing.

4:38Katya Zamolodchikova:Really?

4:39Trixie Mattel:Sometimes. Okay, so we open with the reading challenge. The season seven reading challenge. What do you remember about putting that together? Because I remember being ready to rip into all of you. I don't remember.

4:49Katya Zamolodchikova:I actually don't. I remember from All Stars. I don't quite recall this one I don't remember I remember

4:55Trixie Mattel:what did they say I remember winning when I got back in that night they said alright go home tomorrow just so you know it's the reading challenge

5:01Katya Zamolodchikova:oh you know what and I do remember us all kind of collaborating because a lot of the girls weren't really I mean myself included I wasn't really like an insult comic so we kind of struggled a little bit I know like some people were given reads by me like I feel like I said oh this is something good or vice versa right we kind of like workshopped it I feel like

5:18Trixie Mattel:I've done a few of those tours where you like roast and I love roast I love reads. I love mean, funny shit. I don't. I love it. I do tend to cross the line. And then later someone has to come up to me on the tour bus and say, hey, anything but my divorce. Okay. And I go, oh, okay. Change it up for tomorrow. You know? Yeah. And you're like, this divorced bitch can't find one fucking lover. They'll tell me after I've said it, like, hey. I know. You know, my mom just died. Yeah.

5:43Katya Zamolodchikova:Please don't mention her being a fat ugly bitch. I'm like, oh, sorry. You know?

5:46Trixie Mattel:But. But then that same person is like, anyway, Trixie's so ugly. the one who fucked her was her dad. And I'm like, so what, so what's the two way street here, girl? You know, why can't you make fun of things that are, you know, my hairline or my, you know, whatever. Um, so I do like that. Violet says, Katia, why don't you make it like your hairline and receive? That's a good one.

6:06Katya Zamolodchikova:Fame is the worst reader. Oh baby. My God, you guys,

6:10Trixie Mattel:I remember it like it was yesterday. It was so,

Read the full transcript

6:12Katya Zamolodchikova:it's, they got, there's a thing called tough. When you feel like viscerally embarrassed for somebody on stage, it was very horrible to, to have to endure for me and everybody else.

6:22Trixie Mattel:Yes. It was like,

6:23Katya Zamolodchikova:it was like, baby, just get her off the stage. Just get her off the stage.

6:26Trixie Mattel:Everybody picked their worst joke and their worst AABE and just went for it. It was like, it was really not a great moment. So bad. You know, I win the reading challenge. I remember feeling very good about that. Yeah. Did you win some money? No, I didn't get a fucking anything. Are you fucking kidding? No, no, no, I did. Oh my God. I did. Thank you for jogging. No, no, no, bitch. I will tell you whore what I won. I remember RuPaul goes, and you win a phone call home. I had just been home the day before. Mind you, we know Val doesn't call me. She won't even pick up. My mom called. I called her this morning on the way here in the car and she said, oh, can I, I'm going to have to call you back.

7:03Trixie Mattel:I'm going to step outside. And then she called me on speakerphone from outside. She said, I just brought you on the patio with me. So if I get her on the patio on speakerphone, she'll smoke. We didn't talk to me, but that's it.

7:14Katya Zamolodchikova:I can't.

7:15Trixie Mattel:I won a phone call home. Who did you call?

7:17Katya Zamolodchikova:You called James Sokolov attorney at law.

7:20Trixie Mattel:No. Ginger was married at the time to someone else. Oh, you gave your - And she missed her husband. Oh, you're such a - What a selfless act. So I gave her my phone call. Good for you. And then they never showed it.

7:31Katya Zamolodchikova:Of course, because you were just cheating out to camera the whole time. That's what I'm saying.

7:34Trixie Mattel:If you're not going to use that, I'll order your pizza. I'll do something. I'll call movie phone. You should have ordered your pizza. It would have been amazing if they filmed it and I called movie phone just to see what movies were playing. Or you called our congressman. Oh my God. Or prank call. If I get one vocal home and they're rolling the cameras, do you have Prince Albert in a can? Like, I would have fucking loved that. I'm looking for Amanda. Amanda hugging. I just was mad. I remember watching it and being like, wait a minute, wait a minute. If here's the glorious footage of me talking about domestic abuse,

8:00Katya Zamolodchikova:can we get the phone call? I give you a through line. I give you a button. Like, come on. I'm giving you. And we know why I'm not calling home. You know, I'll get popped. Wait, wait. So we haven't thoroughly discussed the huge dynamic shift away from produced and untucked really at length. Mama, this is like boring boots kind of sort of. I mean, have we talked about Kennedy falling asleep and untucked?

8:25Trixie Mattel:Oh, can I be honest? Nothing. Did we talk about this? Nothing hit me with reality more than when you're on Drag Race, the first episode on season seven, and you walk into what you think is going to be the interior illusion lounge. Another show. Another TV show. Another TV show. They decide to make it a 35 minute gritty sad documentary that's YouTube only.

8:45Katya Zamolodchikova:A no audio slice of life, black and white screensaver kind of video. Erase her head. It was so, I was like, I was like, well. March of the Penguins. Yeah, I was like, no, that won awards. It was like, this was like, this was like planet Earth surveillance footage. It was surveillance footage. It was parking lot surveillance footage. Shot on Samsung 8s. Yes, we had three. I mean, it literally was. It was so weird. It literally was. It literally was. That was the whole, it started as surveillance, like black and white. I hated that on top. I hated it.

9:14Trixie Mattel:I hated it give me the real Untucked bring back the fucking interior lounge I'm sorry bring back

9:20Katya Zamolodchikova:I feel very attacked bring back teleport us to Mars bring back sugar daddy

9:23Trixie Mattel:like there was none of that and put it on TV the funnest part about Drag Race was sometimes

9:28Katya Zamolodchikova:Untucked would start

9:29Trixie Mattel:and it would be so exciting

9:30Katya Zamolodchikova:some people would look at Drag Race as a prelude to Untucked as being the main event I mean for season 6

9:37Trixie Mattel:season 7 we got the worst Untucked

9:40Katya Zamolodchikova:and it was ever yeah and it was also a demoralizing setup it was like Like, okay, so we are, like, our moms and dads moved away. They left us home alone, and we're going to have to fend for ourselves. You know what I mean? It felt like the beginning of the end. Yeah. It was not very, it didn't feel very. I hated it. I hated it, too. I hated it. Although, I got to say, it was, the only good thing about it, I felt, was, like, you could just relax.

10:02Trixie Mattel:Well, it also wasn't on TV. That's the part I don't like about it. Well, no shit, it wasn't, it was a nothing. Like, I'll shoot on a new set, obviously, whatever. It was a button.

10:10Katya Zamolodchikova:It was an afterthought. It was an afterthought. where's the TV? Also their YouTube channel mirror. I think you had more subscribers back then than they did. Do now. You know what I mean? But yeah, it was, it was, it was like fun, kinda, but it was like not a show. It wasn't a show. We didn't do a show.

10:26Trixie Mattel:Yeah. That really disappointed me. It was like going to meet Santa and seeing him smoking behind the mall. It was like, Oh,

10:31Katya Zamolodchikova:his pants down, jerking off,

10:32Trixie Mattel:jerking off. Um, okay. So we get announced that John Waters is going to be there and we're going to be doing musical vignettes taken from iconic John Waters films. Yes. Did you know about John Waters at the time?

10:43Katya Zamolodchikova:Yes, I was very. So this is one of those moments where like, as the setup is rolling out, I'm like, I'm not going home this week. Boop, boop, boop, boop, boop.

10:50Trixie Mattel:And also no offense to everyone around us. I was like, okay, we're singing and doing comedy. It will be okay.

10:56Katya Zamolodchikova:Yeah. And when I was the, the, the, um, the latch in the door of me not going home when she said ugliest dress ever, I was like, you said, can we rewear things or not? I was like, baby pack it up. You should have come out with Despi's dress again. Oh, I know. Because now that all the whole back was all rubbed off from the sequins with no lining. Girl, that was my moment to shine. I knew that was like when I felt my name on the marquee. And I felt like the green carpet roll out. And I was like, this is my swamp thing moment. This is the moment where I get to show how chunky my ski is.

11:31Trixie Mattel:Right. Well, speaking of, I completely forgot all about this challenge. And we'll get to our skits. But let's start with who. Okay. So this is. But I learned this. You can't say poop on TV. So you're allowed to say poo. Okay.

11:44Katya Zamolodchikova:Which is why we kept saying poo. Okay. So, okay. There are so many things I got to say about this. And I, my heart really goes out to the three girls because they had the, the chips stacked against them. Single mom who works too hard. And has three jobs. And never stops. And then she gets penalized for being a minute late, parking in the wrong parking spot. She gets towed. She doesn't have money for the tow. It's the whole thing. She's trying to get by. She's just doing her best. DSS is expensive.

12:11Trixie Mattel:These girls were, all three of them were unequipped. They were unqualified to wear these shoes.

12:17Katya Zamolodchikova:And also those shoes didn't fit anybody. Those shoes were sad. Mama, it wasn't bad. It wasn't bad. It was a crime.

12:26Trixie Mattel:Not to mention there's other scenes in Female Trouble way more interesting than eating shit.

12:32Katya Zamolodchikova:The lobster? The courtroom scene? I mean, think about John. fucking hairspray. Hairspray.

12:42Trixie Mattel:Polyester. Well, I think that's what they were trying to do is because hairspray is a musical, let's make other John Waters things a musical.

12:48Katya Zamolodchikova:Who fucking cares?

12:49Trixie Mattel:Right.

12:49Katya Zamolodchikova:Like, it doesn't, there's so many, you could have done, what would I have, long story short, this was fucking unforgivable. It was, it was not interesting. The girls didn't feel set up for success. None of us, not even Ginger could have done that song well. No. Because the song was unlistenable. It was, I have a personal, huge, like, visceral reaction to the word poo. And Violet with the fat belly looking pregnant. It was, I felt for those girls so much. They were so miserable and it was so deservedly. It was tough to watch. I hated that.

13:22Trixie Mattel:Also, all three of them, I don't think any of them are suited for collaboration.

13:27Katya Zamolodchikova:No, and also for being ugly and, like, gross. And also, they were, it was one of those, like, hypocritical critiques where they were, like, your guys are doing too much. right. Doing too much. On a John Waters drag musical. Too cost to me. Yeah. Too cost to me.

13:42Trixie Mattel:The only part I liked was when fame was like this. Oh yeah. It made no sense, but I loved it.

13:47Katya Zamolodchikova:Also, I liked that Rue Ginsburg or Merle Ginsburg thing when they had the absurd one. This made no sense either. Right. Like they, it wasn't able to, you weren't able to stage it. Well, I think something better would have been like, um, uh, something about the filthiest people alive. Right. Do you know what I mean? Like something like Raymond, Connie, marbles and divine.

14:06Trixie Mattel:Yeah. That would have been perfect. Or like I'm trying to think in Female Trouble when she's in high school. They could have played the high school girls. Wait. No, wait a minute. What? Pink Flamingos is the dog eating shit. Sorry, I'm so sorry. But Pink Flamingos is the filthiest people alive. Yeah, Connie Marbles, Reading Marbles.

14:19Katya Zamolodchikova:Connie Marbles, Divine, and then Edith Massey. Wait, is Egg Lady is also Pink Flamingos, right?

14:28Trixie Mattel:Yeah, that's awesome. Okay, got it, got it, got it. And then yours is Female Trouble.

14:32Katya Zamolodchikova:Ours is, yes. Yours is Female Trouble. I better get those cha-cha heels. Eat your makeup from, I mean, way, way, way back. I mean, eat your makeup is a perfect thing for fame. I love Desperate Living too.

14:44Trixie Mattel:Desperate Living is, I think, my favorite one. That was with the lesbian, right? When she gets the phalloplasty and then decides she doesn't want it and cuts her own phalloplasty dick off. That's what I haven't seen.

14:52Katya Zamolodchikova:Was that the lesbian queen of the whatever? Yeah, it's like a queen of a garbage town. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There were so many more options. And again, I can't hear the word poo without just - I hate it. Poop is fun. This is poo's gross. It's just the gross.

15:13Trixie Mattel:When July arrives, we as humans can finally live up to our full potential as sun-dazed creatures who say things like,

15:20Katya Zamolodchikova:let's go kayak on the open ocean, or I can absolutely pull off a straw hat and a floral shirt. This summer, I'm dreaming about a getaway to Traverse City, Michigan,

15:29Trixie Mattel:where I found a beautiful home in Lake Michigan that I booked with Airbnb. be, the perfect headquarters for peak lake-based summer whimsy. I want to wake up slowly, make coffee in a real kitchen, then head out for cherry pastries, pumpkin pancakes, and a heroic afternoon of pretending I actually know how to kayak. After that, maybe we can drive out to Sleeping Bear Dunes, climb an enormous sandy hill, and then stare out at Lake Michigan like we're in a fancy shampoo commercial. Then, in honor of the season, we reward ourselves with ice cream. That is what the height of summer does to me. It makes every trip feel less like a vacation and more like a golden little movie where everyone is slightly sunburned and deeply committed to snacks, all with a home base that feels like somewhere you can actually settle in.

16:14Trixie Mattel:That is why I love booking stays on Airbnb. I want a living room where everyone can collapse after a day in the water, a kitchen for late night sandwiches and lazy breakfasts, and enough space to feel like we are living our best summer lives. And if I'm traveling with friends, even better. We can stay together, eat dinner together, and play card games badly. And maybe that one great trip becomes three great trips. Maybe it's Traverse City now, the Outer Banks next, or a long weekend in Bar Harbor

16:42Katya Zamolodchikova:after that, eating lobster rolls and becoming emotionally attached to a lighthouse. However summer unfolds, it just feels more personal when you book through Airbnb. When July arrives, we as

18:07Trixie Mattel:We can stay together, eat dinner together, and play card games badly. And maybe that one great trip becomes three great trips.

18:15Katya Zamolodchikova:Maybe it's Traverse City now, the Outer Banks next, or a long weekend in Bar Harbor after that, eating lobster rolls and becoming emotionally attached to a lighthouse. However summer unfolds, it just feels more personal when you book through Airbnb.

18:29Trixie Mattel:This episode is sponsored by Wonderful Pistachios. Hey Katya, I have an important question for you. Do you know what I love about summer? You know what, Trixie? I don't. Well, good, because I'm about to tell you. Everything feels just a little more fun.

18:42Katya Zamolodchikova:Longer days, warmer nights, and snacks that feel like a treat. I could not agree more. And that is why this episode is sponsored by Wonderful Pistachios. Right now, I am deeply, emotionally, and spiritually into Wonderful Pistachios' chocolate sea salt and chocolate toffee flavors.

18:59Trixie Mattel:OMG, same. The delicious roasted pistachios are thinly dipped in dark chocolate antioxidant goodness, so you get that sweet, indulgent flavor. They are like a first date with your snacking soulmate.

19:12Katya Zamolodchikova:I agree. Chocolate sea salt strikes just the right balance. A little salty, a little sweet, and covered in rich, dark chocolate. They're like a long, deep cocoa kiss on a summer night.

19:24Trixie Mattel:And Chocolate Toffee has that sweet, crispy toffee with roasted pistachios and dark chocolate containing 50 % cacao. It's crunchy, rich, and sweetly delectable, like me.

19:35Katya Zamolodchikova:Plus, they have the protein power of pistachios, so it feels like a better-for-you indulgence with a sweet punch.

19:42Trixie Mattel:Snack time never tasted so good, girl.

19:44Katya Zamolodchikova:Try Wonderful Pistachios Chocolate Sea Salt and Chocolate Toffee today. Visit wonderfulpistachios.com to learn more.

19:52Trixie Mattel:We're getting ready to dress as Divine. I'm walking around with my hair gelled down looking like the killer. You do look like the killer. I think I glue-sticked my hair down and foundationed over it. Which is so chilling to me. I feel about chills. So our accompanist is Lady J. Yeah. Fabulous. Old school Lady J. On the piano. Lady J looks a little different now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah. Very different. She's blonde. She looks like Willem or something. She looks like Anna Nicole. Yeah. The note I took was, I kind of just flop at everything on this season. Even this, which is, I do okay. Ginger bulldozes me.

20:28Katya Zamolodchikova:But here's the thing about that, though. She's amazing. This is, I feel like, out of any type of thing I've seen on Drag Race, she is, this is an Oscar Tony winning performance. it's unbelievable how able she is to channel Edith Massey and so grotesque and so accurate and so like she gets everything it's just perfect she's perfect it's incredible it's incredible it's fucking amazing and she everything on the song is delivered so well doesn't hurt that the song is fabulous the song is good too it's great it's catchy every morning when the sun comes out it's like you hum it and you want to sing it like it's fabulous and you guys are singing great and she just And the set is good.

21:11Trixie Mattel:It's the baby pen with her in it. And it gets so nasty. And then we're crushing eggs on each other's faces. So gross. We got a good skit. Yeah. And honestly, I remember my focus being, I'm not going to beat Ginger. So I can't be the person who completely disappears next to Ginger. No, you did fine. And I luckily did fine. Yeah, you did fine. I would have, none of us would have ever beat Ginger in this challenge. No. Except maybe, honestly, Kennedy was, we have to talk about yours. you guys were both so good we had a fucking blast Kennedy was so oh yeah we have a voice note from Ginger who apparently has a phone congratulations on your phone purchase T-Mobile

21:55Katya Zamolodchikova:in the morning when the sun comes out I could poop you in my bum all day

22:02Trixie Mattel:well well well if it isn't Trixie and Katya hey girls It's Ginger Minj. She's at a Raising Pins. I am no longer an overweight, but I am still an asthmatic chain-smoking cross-dresser from Orlando, Florida. That's why. And I'm so happy that you're actually doing this rewatch. I should do it myself because I haven't actually sat down and watched season seven in ten years. She's good at it. But there are things that pop back into my memory. I thought she was going to win. Mostly, everybody goes, what's the best day ever? Was it eggs, eggs, eggs? No. I'm grateful for eggs, eggs, eggs. And I think that Trixie and I had a great time doing it.

22:44Trixie Mattel:But do you remember they stood us there for like 45 minutes just chucking dozens and dozens and dozens of raw eggs at our faces while they were trying to get the right angles. And, I mean, this, of course, like the show has grown and expanded. And now there's a much bigger camera crew. Well, crew in general. But at that time, there were like two cameras that were trying to get everything. So they just kept pelting us with eggs. And then we had to go and immediately shower. But then they took, you wore my hip pads on top of your hip pads to give you that shape. And they were covered in raw egg.

23:26Trixie Mattel:And they took them and had to, well, they said they were going to wash them, but they didn't. Or maybe they did, but not well enough. and for like the next two weeks, those pads just get worse and worse and worse. And it smelled like rotting eggs. Oh, like she needed help with that department. Not to mention, who wants their butt area to smell like rotten eggs? I have to say too, now that she said that, I remember standing in this baby crib and it's cold on Drag Race. Freezing. I'm smashing eggs all over her. We're whipping eggs at each other. I'm whipping real eggs at her. And I remember smashing the egg on her and the shell and the yolk running down her eye.

24:11Trixie Mattel:And I remember being like, is this okay? Is she going to ever sing again? She is, if anything, she commits. She was amazing.

24:19Katya Zamolodchikova:And also, this is a musical theater thing, obviously.

24:22Trixie Mattel:But when you're not singing, you're still supposed to be in character. That whore never broke character.

24:27Katya Zamolodchikova:It was, I mean, it's truly fucking stunning. I think it's one of the best performances as I've ever seen on Drag Race, period. It's the best performance of the season, I think. Oh, 100%.

24:37Trixie Mattel:100%. Okay, you might not be able to sing like Ginger. You were incredible. My note I have here is that you are amazing. Really?

24:44Katya Zamolodchikova:Are you kidding? I had the, this was by far the funnest day or couple of days. There was not one moment where I was like fearful or nervous or anything. I was like, it was just 100 % fun. I wish. Kennedy eats too. Girl, Kennedy. I mean, good scene partner. Kennedy made all the food and then served it. and then we both ate. Well, I mean, you don't have the anxiety of her not performing well. So you just get to do your thing. I had to keep up with her. Right. Because she had the main part and she had most of the lines and I just -

25:10Trixie Mattel:What the hell are these?

25:12Katya Zamolodchikova:Your new shoes. It was like, it was so fun and the Lucian pee on me. Lucian pee on me. But it was like, that was one of the rare days where I was like, oh my God, I know I'm not going to go home. It was just so, so, so, so fun. There was no stress. Got to be ugly as fuck and then also ugly on the runway. Yeah. It was like definitely my moment.

25:32Trixie Mattel:You had so many moments. When they announce who's in it, you do this slow turn to the camera. That's psychotic. Also, the thing where you're like, all I ever... Oh, yeah, the legs and all the busted pantyhose. She beats the shit out of you. I know. Like, she beats the shit out of you.

25:46Katya Zamolodchikova:And I love to get thrown around. She beats the shit out of you and then throws the tree on you. Smack, smack, smack.

25:52Trixie Mattel:Can I tell you? You probably don't have this memory. So, you guys know on the workroom on Drag Race, it's all these tables. And when we're not performing, we're sitting there with our headphones and rehearsing. this whore is sitting there by herself at a table and I don't even think you know that I'm in there. And she has her lyric sheet and she's dressed as that old lady and you have the lyric sheet and the headphones and on a loop you're going please Todd. Please Todd. Todd. It's Christmas Todd. And I remember watching you like what is their shit about?

26:24Katya Zamolodchikova:It was so so fun and they really turned the party with those sets besides the poop the sets were good your guys's was amazing ours was great it was like

26:35Trixie Mattel:we really got handed the best thing about your scene too is your scene plays out in that movie it worked perfect for a musical Dawn would have a tirade because she doesn't get the shoes

26:45Katya Zamolodchikova:and also we had a great we had a great climactic denouement and it was just like really satisfying to see Christmas is always a good starting point too a mom and daughter on Christmas love it oh yeah yeah I really you know there are a few times as a participant and a viewer in this process where I think shenanigans are afoot. This is one of the, this is one instance where I actually kind of, as a viewer watching it back, it gave me pause. I was like, what's going on here with them three? Why'd they give them that shitty number? You know what I mean? Oh, you feel like it was intentional? I was like, shenanigans.

27:17Katya Zamolodchikova:I don't, usually my opinion is that it's never shenanigans, it's negligence. You know what I mean? Things don't, people aren't plotting against you. They just make mistakes or they overlook. You know what I mean?

27:29Trixie Mattel:TV can work both ways. The group that no one expects to do well, doing well, is also good TV. Sure, sure, sure. They also could pull it out. Yeah. Or it's an interesting story if one of them kills it and the other two are awful.

27:42Katya Zamolodchikova:Sure. But I don't, so as a rule, I generally don't think people have the time or the energy or even the intelligence to plot against you. No, I don't either. It's negligent.

27:50Trixie Mattel:Yeah, I absolutely agree. But girl. They're not there to make it easy for us. No. But I don't think they sit in a room and say, let's fuck her life up. No. I really don't. No, they're outside smoking or having lunch. Right. They're not like, they're regular people. They don't have the time. And also when you're a drag queen flopping on TV, it's very easy to say production headed out for me.

28:07Katya Zamolodchikova:Yeah. They don't even have it out for themselves.

28:09Trixie Mattel:Girl, you weren't even out for yourself, you know?

28:10Katya Zamolodchikova:But that number sucked. Yeah. It really sucked. I hated watching it back. It was sucked and I felt bad for them.

28:18Trixie Mattel:Yeah. I think we get, somebody says, I'm not ready to go home, which I love when they say on TV, because who is? No one ever. Well, actually I did. Right. no one ever says i'm ready to go home i said i'm ready to go call my uber do uber didn't exist at the time um sorry also oh yeah i wrote this and this is like i don't want to be whatever to anybody do pearl and fame hate each other like their energy they're always bickering in this

28:46Katya Zamolodchikova:series about it at this point they just think about their personality types fame is insufferably verbose. Pearl is incredibly chill. There's just oil and water. You know what I mean? They were like

28:58Trixie Mattel:kind of fighting because they're putting their skit together and they're fighting putting together poo. And watching people really be irritated like that is like, ooh, hard to watch. And also having

29:08Katya Zamolodchikova:an arm wrestling contest over shit is just really futile. Yeah.

29:15Trixie Mattel:When July arrives, we as humans can finally live up to our full potential as sun-dazed creatures who say things like, let's go kayak on the open ocean, or I can absolutely pull off a straw hat and a floral shirt. This summer, I'm dreaming about a getaway to Traverse

29:30Katya Zamolodchikova:City, Michigan, where I found a beautiful home in Lake Michigan that I booked with Airbnb, the perfect headquarters for peak lake-based summer whimsy. I want to wake up slowly,

29:42Trixie Mattel:make coffee in a real kitchen, then head out for cherry pastries, pumpkin pancakes, and a heroic afternoon of pretending I actually know how to kayak.

30:16Trixie Mattel:That is why I love booking stays on Airbnb. Maybe it's Traverse City now,

30:41Katya Zamolodchikova:the Outer Banks next, or a long weekend in Bar Harbor after that, eating lobster rolls and becoming emotionally attached to a lighthouse. However summer unfolds, it just feels more personal when you book through Airbnb.

30:53Trixie Mattel:Oh, our runways. Okay. Mary, gotta give it up for Kennedy as the old grandma lady. See, this is where I disagree. That shit cracked me up.

31:02Katya Zamolodchikova:I think it was too easy. You think? Yeah. I think Kennedy and Ginger are big time dings on this runway. Oh, I hated Gingers. Gingers and famed. Kennedy, Ginger, in my opinion, Kennedy, Ginger, Fame, and Pearl. Huge dings. Did not follow the assignment. Fame looked beautiful. Fame was editorial. Fame looked so beautiful. With one of the most beautifully sculpted updos ever seen on the show. I could see the tape. But like the makeup. The makeup, gorgeous. The tears. I mean, it was like breathtaking. Gorgeous. Pearl. It was Vogue Italia. Pearl was pretty cute. Yeah, it was like pretty cute. You're adorable.

31:35Katya Zamolodchikova:yeah Ginger was like oh that dress is horrible because it has like a rip in it

31:39Trixie Mattel:Ginger you've worn uglier things

31:42Katya Zamolodchikova:oh shit honey I would have taken something off out of the closet

31:46Trixie Mattel:baby turn the wigs around Dina you know what I mean and I will say too I ate that challenge you look like Natasha Leona at a craft fair at a meth lab I remember seeing your shoes I remember being like is this too far

32:04Katya Zamolodchikova:Maybe. When it comes to ugly, there's no limit. The limit does not exist. It was ugly. But I remember, I remember I went, because I was struggling. Did you get the wig? Mama. Oh, you know, the wig came courtesy of my friend, Jake Tinsley, Frida Fry's, who also gave me that track, the Mugler track suit I wore in All Stars Later. It was just this gigantic loaf that I like fucked up a little bit. But I remember being in a thrift store prior to going to drag race and just looking for shit. And I was like, it was like, it spoke to me. like it like glowed i saw that crochet piece of thing and remember what rupaul said knitter please

32:39Trixie Mattel:oh god rupaul said knitter please that that was so funny she also um she also says about violet um her clown pussy is her clown pussy is on fire oh violets she she bet she bested me also she made that in like 15 minutes she said i didn't bring it ugly dress because i don't own anything oh yeah I'll never forget.

33:00Katya Zamolodchikova:She was in the workroom. She, she whipped that thing up in like two hours. From Fabric Planet. Incredible. Yeah. Incredible. But it was so ugly. I didn't want to look at it. You know,

33:09Trixie Mattel:I didn't,

33:09Katya Zamolodchikova:I didn't think it was ugly enough. Is clown ugly? Well, rainbow is so fucking ugly to me. I guess.

33:16Trixie Mattel:I didn't think it was particularly ugly. I mean, I thought I served, I was ugly.com spokeswoman. But then again, you know, Violet told me that she thinks that I dress like Nina West. So fuck that hoe with a shovel. I don't give a shit. And I saw a certain article that, she was did you see she was she said on her pod about us asking her for a voice note

33:36Trixie Mattel:who do you think you are don't you think that was a little crazy i was like girl shut the fuck up

33:42Katya Zamolodchikova:shut the fuck up girl you don't call me back yeah you don't call me back ho and it's

33:47Trixie Mattel:an assistant reached out you know if i want to get to you i might talk to gottmik also i'm sorry that you're the most girl check the stats i know you know what i mean i know you would never brag about your position. But that's the truth.

34:01Katya Zamolodchikova:Also, we're recapping Drag Race. Sorry for including you. I know. Like, did anybody else make up like a passive aggressive public statement about being contacted not by us? I know. Violet love you, but I was like, what the fuck, girl? They gave us wonderful, long, usable clips. We had to exhume Max and she sent us a voice note. That was like 10 minutes long. Pearl sent us one

34:21Trixie Mattel:from an RV on the edge of a mountain. And she hates us openly. Most of these people probably don't like, I just was kind of like,

34:27Katya Zamolodchikova:oh, damn, bitch.

34:27Trixie Mattel:Wow.

34:28Katya Zamolodchikova:Well, you know, She's a stay mad, Brenda. Yeah, that's okay. I still love her. Still love her.

34:34Trixie Mattel:Still love her. Raymond's outfit is incredible. Raymond. RuPaul. Oh my God. Raymond looks amazing as usual.

34:42Katya Zamolodchikova:It's the graffiti Ru dress. It's fucking great.

34:45Trixie Mattel:With the Afro with the graffiti RuPaul dress.

34:48Katya Zamolodchikova:Velvet. She, the velvet airbrush. And then again, the fucking makeup. The makeup. The fucking makeup. up. This tall black bitch just is like, she just, I mean every time in this season she gets on that runway and forces everybody into suicide. She does. Like it is it is diabolical. She looks ah, it's crazy. It's 60 fucking years old.

35:14Trixie Mattel:She's a little transcendent. She really looks amazing.

35:17Katya Zamolodchikova:That's her best RuPaul outfits. Matthew fucking fucked her in the ass all night long. And then Zaldi turned her over and fucked her again.

35:26Trixie Mattel:Also, I forgot to talk about my look. My dress isn't that ugly. My makeup is awful. I agree. I look awful this entire season and I don't know if I have to keep saying it. No, you don't have to keep saying it. But I look bad all the time. You just look like a prototype because now you're the final boss. Can I tell you, I think artistically not to be whatever, I don't think I was ready for Drag Race. I'm a couple months after Drag Race figured out the Trixie like I. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like a couple months later and I remember being like, oh, I wish I had figured out this big thing then

35:56Katya Zamolodchikova:If you had gone with, if you like with what you have now, like your best looks now going on, then would have been a very different story.

36:03Trixie Mattel:Yeah. My makeup just screamed like I have an idea, but I don't have the skills to execute it.

36:09Katya Zamolodchikova:Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know, it's a little bit. Yeah. The polish is not there.

36:13Trixie Mattel:The polish isn't there. I mean, I was. I mean, even when I got there, I remember Anastasia Bobby Hills giving us all that makeup. I mean, I'm also trying to use products I've never used. I don't know what I'm doing. Makeup wise. It's awful. It's bad. It's the eyes. It's the eyes, which is the whole point is not good.

36:30Katya Zamolodchikova:No. And especially because Rue's eyes are huge and so well painted. And she's not doing this like subtle shit. Like in the prancing episode. Rupaul has a lot of makeup on. Her fucking eyes are so giant. I mean, it's like.

36:48Trixie Mattel:Yeah. I just, as a general note, I look awful. I know. And I'm sorry. It's okay. Okay. But, but, but, but, but, but. Wait. so then

36:55Katya Zamolodchikova:who goes home it is

36:57Trixie Mattel:it's forget Demi Lovato's there oh Demi Lovato yeah yeah yeah who then I did her Christmas special like two years ago she was super cool and nice she was funny even if the stars and moon we get pearl and fame in the bottom yeah

37:09Katya Zamolodchikova:what a show stopping dance

37:12Trixie Mattel:dancery I know I thought it was Mia Double I know do you remember it being just not it really was a flat lip sync

37:19Katya Zamolodchikova:no baby I'm a controversial opinion that I maintain listen y 'all weren't there no but we were there I think every lip sync is boring

37:27Trixie Mattel:however this

37:29Katya Zamolodchikova:was a absolute shoe in for the academy award for most boring lip sync I mean Pearl did better than fame for sure oh 100 % I mean here's the thing if I would never have I would never have been intimidated by fame had I known about her because I would have gone on there and like why are you here you're behind the camera girl yeah you're behind the camera girl what do you do in front of the camera? Cause she's not a performer. Yeah. She's an incredible artist behind the camera. Yeah.

38:03Trixie Mattel:I mean, she kind of just had a completely different background than any of us too.

38:07Katya Zamolodchikova:She was an expert makeup artist. Yeah. And he had access to incredible drag. She didn't know what to do with it though. Yeah. You know what I mean? She was gorgeous. No, gorgeous. It didn't even cover it. She's like stunning, stunning, but that's it.

38:20Trixie Mattel:I mean, I was on drag race with her. You want to talk? boop boopie doop. Like I stood next to her on the runway,

38:25Katya Zamolodchikova:but she can't do anything on the runway. You know what I mean? Yeah. Like I know, no offense. Like, I mean, you know, she's not a performer. She's a model and she's an incredible artist. That's right. Right. I'm sorry. I shouldn't.

38:38Trixie Mattel:You're talking about someone's mother like that. I am. Um, but you know what I mean though, right? I don't. Um, I thought she was incredible. I can't believe you said that about her. Um, I forgot to have Lovato's there. Um, spoiler alert, Pearl, Pearl does win. She deserves the win. Yeah. Of the two. And we lose fame. Riveting on this planet. Yeah. What did she say? The galactic queen has departed or something crazy. I come and pee. No, she says the galactic queen departs. And then she like goes home. And we're like, okay. Yeah.

39:07Katya Zamolodchikova:No,

39:07Trixie Mattel:I forget what her. Shout out to fame. Love fame. Girl. She was, I love her. I'm all about celebrating people for what they're good at. Am I being hypocrite? That whore is good at good.

39:16Katya Zamolodchikova:What she's good at. She's the best at. Dude. Are you kidding me? I, she, I was lucky enough to be in one of her painted by fame tours. It was like one of the funnest afternoons of my life. She did not aspire to bump oars with us lip syncing at a gay club. No.

39:28Trixie Mattel:You know what I mean? She, I don't even, I actually don't know why she did drag race.

39:31Katya Zamolodchikova:No, I know. And I remember, I do recall like after the show, after the season, before it aired, I think maybe she was one of the first, she had a lot of buzz around her, but then it was, she was quickly singled out and scrutinized for her performance abilities or lack thereof. And I think she got a lot of hate and unnecessarily so.

39:46Trixie Mattel:But I also think that come, I mean, fame maybe is listening to this I think when you look like that people are looking or any way they can say yeah but she's

39:56Katya Zamolodchikova:right and I'm a hater too I we shouldn't she's probably breastfeeding right now she's not listening but like she's sucking on someone's TV right now yeah like yeah it's it's like if I went I don't know on a contest for anything it's like

40:13oh

40:14Katya Zamolodchikova:I mean that's kind of you know what we both said it's a tough It's a tough, tough, tough question. It's so shady when they do it in the beginning. Like on the second day.

40:24Trixie Mattel:Somebody said my name both times it was asked this season.

40:26Katya Zamolodchikova:You were off camera? Yes.

40:28Trixie Mattel:Cunty. No, the first time it was Kennedy in episode one. Yeah. That was so crazy to ask that question. I mean. Episode one. I know. Trixie. Say an all-stars, bitch. No. And then this episode, Violet says me. Just because she can't say fame.

40:44Katya Zamolodchikova:You know, she hates everybody.

40:45Trixie Mattel:Well, she's been who do you think you are since day one to me. Right, right, right. it all continues.

40:48Katya Zamolodchikova:And also in this, it's funny because up until this point, my perception of her is capital A asshole. Although in the next episode, we'll talk about Prans and Queens. We, I really get to love her. Well, let's, well,

40:59Trixie Mattel:let's get into it right now. So it's the next episode. Top of the episode. We do the post elimination. We just lost Miss fame. Yeah. RIP to cancer. We just lost her. To carcinoma. We lost her at the mall. We lost her at Disney World.

41:17Trixie Mattel:chewed up in the matter horn damn I wish when drag you know there's something also so pitiful about standing there with the statue I know between that untucked and the statue this season it's the saddest season of Drag Race Theory what they should have done

41:30Katya Zamolodchikova:is like RuPaul's super fun of this expression she's left for Paris when they die that's what you say she's left for Paris when someone dies she's boarded the Concorde to Paris so they should have had us like get on a fake plane and go to Paris Do you know what I mean? That'd be so cunty.

41:45Trixie Mattel:So you're leaving Drag Race, but we do have you going to your meeting for global entry. So make sure you have your ID and your birth documents. We have three nights stay comped at the Georges Sainc in Paris for you. You are leaving, but we have a table for you at the Wagamama. And can I recommend the vegetable gyoza?

42:06Katya Zamolodchikova:Steamed, not pan fried. so we have the mini challenge again is super super fun it's the tape face thing can I say what? fame leaves

42:19Trixie Mattel:and we start putting tape on our faces

42:21Katya Zamolodchikova:the ultimate irony is like it's too real

42:25Trixie Mattel:I never got this until now but I was watching it this morning and I go fame leaves and we all start taping our faces

42:32Katya Zamolodchikova:it's so fucking funny maybe they made it up on the fly I doubt that. They're not that smart. But like, yeah, it's so hysterical. It's crazy. It's hysterical.

42:42Trixie Mattel:So I'd never seen Housewives at this point. Me neither. I don't know what we were. And Pearl has always loved the Housewives. So I know she was in it to win it. Yeah, she loves Housewives. She was very funny. So I just remember being like, they showed us some trailers of the opening of Housewives. Remember, they bring out a computer.

42:56Katya Zamolodchikova:I don't remember that.

42:57Trixie Mattel:Sometimes on Drag Race, if you don't know the reference, they'll bring out a computer and go, oh, here's the intro to Housewives of New York. And they'll let you see what we're doing, what we're parodying. Right, right, right. and um you're oh my god what did Pearl say I'm

43:10Katya Zamolodchikova:I'm not only a slut I'm an alcoholic I'm not just a slut I'm also an alcoholic love what I I wish I would have said I thought about it right after what he said I was like I'm um I'm uh what is it I'm a socialist a sociopath no I'm a socialite a socialist and a sociopath or something like that I think that would be fun

43:27Trixie Mattel:you ended up saying um some weird long thing no it was like the best thing about being in an abusive marriage is the threat of danger keeps me so thin yeah a little dark your face tape was nuts girl again you look i thrive i thought it looked like kelly mantel i know and you said it kelly listen i'm sure kelly listen kelly's like a 21 year old look like me great love it yeah you know what i mean um i kennedy had a piece of she had one piece of tape on her neck do you remember how bad that hurt our faces i don't actually we were stuck like that for a while. Damn. It hurt. I love that. One of my eyes was taped closed.

44:08Trixie Mattel:Yeah, you looked like you got beat with the ice stick. Fan of the opera. I don't know what was going on. I looked crazy. It was fun though. That was a really fun mini challenge. I believe the winner is Violet. Violet. Good for her.

44:18Katya Zamolodchikova:Yeah, and then she just picks everybody, which is a great strategy. She just goes, whoever's right next to each other, love that. Wash your hands of the drama. Seriously, it's a great move. Don't overthink it. Just boop. There we go. Also, I'm kind of flattered that she picked me. I don't know. Because as asshole-ish as she was, she was so clearly talented and confident. I thought this was a very good challenge. Kim Johnson from Dancing with the Stars. Kim Johnson completely forgot that she's there. She's fabulous. She's really great.

44:45Trixie Mattel:Our second Aussie of the season because we have Olivia Newton-John.

44:47Katya Zamolodchikova:Oh, that's right. We're getting all the Aussies. Yeah, and she's like, Halari. Halari.

44:51Trixie Mattel:Yeah. So we're going to do the Tango. We get paired up. You guys get Tango Vogue. Tango Vogue. You guys get Country Robot. Country Robot. And Pearl and... Charleston twerk. Charleston twerk. Yeah. So we come out and this real little dance floor and we start learning our things. Yeah. You say you're not a dancer, but you, spoiler alert,

45:10Katya Zamolodchikova:you end up doing amazing. Well, here's the fucking thing about it. So I don't, none of this made it. So there's a lot of fun, interesting behind the scenes to you about this episode. This is the first time we learned that RuPaul has legs. Right. I'm telling you, we have never,

45:25Trixie Mattel:she was in this room and they brought us in one by one and RuPaul was in a blank, listen, like a hospital bed and the nurse would pull back the legs and they would kind of hold my jaw and make me look at it. Because I wanted to look away.

45:37Katya Zamolodchikova:And it was all exposed bone. Right. With maggots. And they were twisted up. They were twisted up and kind of rage up. You know? They're like, so RuPaul has spinal meningitis. And you have to leave her for dead. She's going to ask for you to save her. You got to leave the room. Stop.

45:59Trixie Mattel:I remember like 25 minutes had gone by and I remember being like, am I done? They said, no. And then,

46:11Trixie Mattel:then RuPaul says, I don't like it. So they hand me a bottle of SC nail polish and I have to change the toenail color to bubble bath. And I'm sitting there. And then I remember I left right before I walked in. Like, Oh, she was gone. Before I walked in, Violet was leaving. She was sobbing. Yeah. Right? It was so, it was really, it was a tough day for legs. And all the tattoos, like some of them kind of, you know.

46:35Katya Zamolodchikova:No, so we're on the, we're practicing our thing. And RuPaul on the performance day, of course, RuPaul's in the, she walks in the frame and I see her in this tiny little cha-cha dress with her fucking seven foot legs. I was like, holy shit. That's a first. But this was so. Why did we see her? We saw her somewhere. She was, she came out onto the floor for some reason. I don't know why. We saw RuPaul in Drag Standing Up, which had never happened to this point. Never, never, never. I had not, so... Mama, return of the black finger wave wave. It's weird that her knees went backward. Like a raptor?

47:10Trixie Mattel:Yes, and it's weird that she crab walked everywhere. It's a raptor. She can open doors. Clever girl. You know, that's how RuPaul got in there. Clever girl. They had locked it. Clever girl. So, do you have any feeling? I remember thinking Country Robot was like, sure. Tango Bogus. I mean, watching it, you guys had the best number.

47:35Katya Zamolodchikova:I think, yeah. I think we had, we definitely. Country Robot is fucking corny. Stupid. Corny. Also, stupid. Charleston Twerk was amazing. I think Charleston Twerk was the best mashup. I thought yours was the best. No, no, yeah. I think it was great. But I think if anybody was going to slam dunk it, it's such a – what do you call that? The dichotomy. It's like so diametrically opposed. Right. It's such a great combo. Country Robot was that too, but like – Sucked. Country dancing and drag. The robot's not a dance. The robot is not a dance. Yeah. It's just a stupid thing. And Ginger in the robot, she looks like a Roomba.

48:17Katya Zamolodchikova:Yeah. And also country like – no offense, but like the aesthetic.

48:22Trixie Mattel:okay well i don't feel that way but um i i have a lot of issues with this challenge one of them being i should have spoke up and said i i can't be lifting ginger minge i love ginger i think i felt nervous to speak up i drop her yeah i drop her well to drop a 70 year old woman she's a butterball i mean what are you gonna do i drop her on my lap but i remember feeling bad yeah but i didn't want to say no yeah you want to be a team player right and i could tell ginger's even nervous about me grabbing her. Also, because she's not a dancer. She's not a dancer, which can I say this? I took this note.

48:54Trixie Mattel:I learned this in college. The second my dance teacher told me, Darcy Wootz, Darcy Wootz, my jazz teacher, the second you say that you're not a dancer, it's over. You will not dance. It's over. Yeah. And when you go to auditions and stuff, it's not really anyone's business that how much you do or don't dance. It's like, of course I do. You speak Mandarin?

49:13Katya Zamolodchikova:Wow.

49:15Trixie Mattel:Ginger starting from a place of defeated. Looking back, I'm like, I don't like that. Also, you're literally no part of the expression. You're heavyweight.

49:22Katya Zamolodchikova:You're dragging people down. Right. And I'm not a professional dancer, but we can do this. Girl, by stark contrast, what do you think? You think Violet walked into that with it? She's like, of course I can. Mary, I invented this challenge. Right. I actually gave birth to you. Right. I own your birth certificate, you Australian bitch.

49:39Trixie Mattel:Right. You know, like. So Ginger and I try to make the best of it. But I just remember her feeling very defeated.

49:44Katya Zamolodchikova:And also, I would have hated to have your combo.

49:46Trixie Mattel:I hated our song. you know i'm lifting her off a hay bale at what at what point does the cut factor enter the chat i know where's the wagon wheel how about wagon wheel what to see wagon wheel what to see did prancing with the queens and we were in our rehearsal and everything was going fine and you picked me up and it's like something wasn't right and you dropped me and i landed on your foot and we couldn't even rehearse like the other girls did i forgot about that because We had to go to the medic. They had to pull us both aside. I forgot about that. You went to the medic? I was in the ICU for 13 days.

50:23Trixie Mattel:And then you had to be cleared and checked out before we could get back to our hospital. In an iron lung. So you and I didn't even have nearly as much time as everybody else did to kind of pull it together. I'm still proud of what we did.

50:33Katya Zamolodchikova:Excuses, excuses, excuses, excuses.

50:33Trixie Mattel:I liked it. I thought we did as best as we could with Country Robot. Like, what the fuck even is that? Thank you. But I have great memories. I really don't. I have good memories of it too, honestly. And maybe it's because Ginger had been there the whole time. So maybe she was like on the straight shot to win. I felt like, right. So for me to be, for her to be like, I can't do this at the time, I guess I was like, girl, well, we're in this together. Yeah. By the way, they also had an announcer being judges pairs. She came out of nowhere. Um, but that was,

51:07Katya Zamolodchikova:that was a curve,

51:07Trixie Mattel:but that was a, that was a little,

51:09Katya Zamolodchikova:I was a blow, uh, below the belt. It was a little special. Um,

51:12Trixie Mattel:but I remember just being like, well, Ginger, we have to do this anyway. So like I, I, I, I now looking back, I'm like, she was probably fucking tired. She's tired of it. Yeah. You know? Um, yeah. Yeah. I forgot she stepped on my foot and I had to ice it. We couldn't rehearse.

51:26Katya Zamolodchikova:And also girl, she, I, when I was watching this this morning, she's like, I hadn't slept all night. Guess who hadn't slept a wink all night either. Yeah. And that's, I remember, I remember very vividly. Not only was it the return of the fucking black wig that won't go away. I wrote it down. Your Frederick Douglass wig, Mary, my$34.99 Josephine Baker, Dorothy's boutique wig that has made, has graced the episode for the fifth or sixth time. Why did you get to drag race and say, I am a short finger wave black wig diva? My name is Sophie Tucker. I was born in 1880 and I got my start in the roaring 20s.

52:06Katya Zamolodchikova:Right.

52:06Trixie Mattel:During Prohibition, I was, you know, working in bathhouses.

52:09Katya Zamolodchikova:Yeah. Bathtub gin was my specialty and doing the Charleston, whatever.

52:14Trixie Mattel:It sounds like, have you ever heard those really dirty old school songs that are like, he eats my pussy baby. He eats it all night long. You'd be one of those artists who sings those nasty songs.

52:23Katya Zamolodchikova:But this was the only time it was actually apropos or like appropriate to wear. So I was like, thank God I have that. You have so much hair. And I did not sleep. You know what? I didn't sleep a wink. And this is the stupidest reason why I was so – I did not know how I was going to attach it to my head. How did you do it? So I put so much fucking gel in my hair, which I had some at that point. and then fucking, so my head became a helmet, right? Like of hair. And then I dug so many hair, long roller pins through it. And it hurts so bad. It hurts so bad. Like you couldn't rip that hair off of me.

53:06Katya Zamolodchikova:It was like sealed onto the, and it hurts so bad. It gave me such a fucking headache. And I hadn't slept at all. And when you know I haven't slept at all and you just did a whole cute, like long day of physical, like activity, your body's like overtired and starting to cramp everywhere. And I've been chain smoking 20 cigarettes a day.

53:26Trixie Mattel:Right.

53:26Katya Zamolodchikova:During the rehearsal or no, during the first run through because we did it twice for camera, I almost had a heart attack. And like, that's not an exaggeration. I was like, I think people started to like get a little scared because I was like so out of breath and I thought I was going to faint. Why are you trying to one up my foot event?

53:42Trixie Mattel:Because this was like, you went to the ICU.

53:44Katya Zamolodchikova:They flew me out of there in a copter. No, but I actually got worried for myself. And RuPaul was watching the whole thing. She was there the whole time. She watched all of our laundry.

53:53Trixie Mattel:And you looked over and she showed the leg again. I better pull it together. The rotting maggot. She showed the leg.

53:59Katya Zamolodchikova:She said, whore. No, but it was like, I remember being very miserable. I had a horrible time. And we had to do the outfits. Right.

54:06Trixie Mattel:We had to sew those fucking outfits on those shitty suxedos. They never talked about this in the episode. We had to make the outfits. Yes. Part of the challenge was making the outfit.

54:17Katya Zamolodchikova:They really glossed over that. They don't talk about it. No, baby. They give us the only nasty polyester fucking tuxedo that we have to create a whole other look for. And it was difficult. I made that fucking half dress. Yeah. And also I give Kennedy huge props for her little car wash number. I thought she can't sew at all. Are you out of your mind? Yes, I am. That's the worst look of all of them. Shreds of fabric. It worked. for the number. It was just a weird fringe thing. That bitch can't sew at all.

54:52Trixie Mattel:She went to Drag Race not knowing how to sew and we're supposed to say good job with the glue? Out of your mind? That was the worst outfit of the day.

55:01Katya Zamolodchikova:Was it? Yeah, I guess so. The car wash? Maybe because I just joined, I got a membership of this car wash on Sunset and I love when they do the thingies.

55:11Trixie Mattel:The best outfit was Violet's.

55:13Katya Zamolodchikova:yeah

55:13Trixie Mattel:violence was like wow I wish that was a full outfit it was amazing I don't like the mustache a lot you looked great

55:18Katya Zamolodchikova:I thought I looked good yeah you look so handsome the blonde half well cause you know what I stippled in a fucking beard so weird are you the witness protection program my name is Jeremy I look awful I'm not saying my no offense but you do I do look awful I do look awful and you did that you did the thing that I hate on Drag Race with the mugging on the runway

55:36Trixie Mattel:oof yeah I did that

55:38Katya Zamolodchikova:I don't like the pantomime man I hate Ginger's outfit too God love her she looked hard

55:42Trixie Mattel:I hate Kennedy's I hate mine I hate Ginger's You guys should have been

55:46Katya Zamolodchikova:Thrown in the dunk tank Yeah Who else was it Pearl and Kennedy Were very cute And there is I remember Watching it this morning I was like Oh their number is charming It's bad Pearl's terrible But it was so charming Yeah Oh for sure It was charming You honestly I thought we did great You and Violet were the best

56:05Trixie Mattel:I thought we did great You deserved the win

56:06Katya Zamolodchikova:Of course shocked I thought I was going home Like usual Fucking You and Violet were the best

56:11Trixie Mattel:Yeah and we won Yeah. Oh yeah. You won the challenge. We won the challenge. The bottom end ends up being me and Ginger. And that kind of sucked because I was like, I could levitate. I'm going to go home. Like Ginger's been here the whole time. Luckily it's Show Me Love, which obviously was a perfect song for me. But that song plays so often everywhere that whatever trauma you have for your lip sync song, I forget that I lip synced that on Drag Race even. Oh, Roar? Same. I don't remember. dreaming when I hear it I'm always like oh this is Drag Race or when I won All Stars it was Wrecking Ball so whenever I hear that I'm like oh this is my$100 ,000 song I don't remember I don't associate any of them with Drag Race yeah but Show Me Love I also was like oh this is Break My Soul forgot of course you know and Ginger was very downtrodden maybe Beyonce got the idea from watching Ginger on Drag Race maybe I think certainly of course that biter

57:07Katya Zamolodchikova:famous biter Beyonce

57:09Trixie Mattel:I go home again. I remember being like, whatever, because I remember being mad. I remember being mad we were judged as doubles.

57:15Katya Zamolodchikova:It was shenanigan,

57:18Trixie Mattel:tomfoolery, riggery. I remember being like, it was riggery. I mean, it probably still should have been me. It's not like I was amazing, but I don't know, because Ginger did the absolute worst that day. But Ginger was really good all season, so it probably should have been me, but still.

57:35Katya Zamolodchikova:It's not a cumulative judgment. But that's how I feel about people who come back should be able to win. Well, right. I guess in that sense, I do agree with you because like, remember when I'm, oh, I guess this is different. Like what if Violet went home and came back after missing two episodes, but she was really good. She should be able to win. Yeah. And then she would have to endure comments for the rest of her career that you shouldn't have won you were gone two episodes. Well, that's like when the win is split.

58:01Trixie Mattel:Oh God. You know, Kennedy and I filmed a tie for all stars and I was like, I would have hated that.

58:06Katya Zamolodchikova:Girl. I had to do. I dressed up. I would have rather lost. I had dressed up as you for that time that Monet and, what the fuck, Monet and Trinity did the split. And I saw the look on Trinity's face. She wasn't living? Mama, no, she was not. And I wouldn't have either. I would not have either. I was like, They both got 100 ,000. Kennedy and I were going to get half. No, it's not about the money. It's not about the money. Kennedy and I were going to get half. It's not the money, though. It's not the money. You don't do it for the money. You do it for the money you make afterwards. But like, Trinity was like,

58:39Katya Zamolodchikova:it was like that it was like crazy i get that i mean i would have been like uh do we rock

58:45Trixie Mattel:scissors now like what right i would have i don't know i mean when i won when i won i remember thinking this is this is going to primarily be about how de la left and shangela didn't make get to top two.

58:59Katya Zamolodchikova:But imagine like winning. It was winning, but very like, but like if we won, I mean, bizarro world, bizarro world. If I shared a win with you, I'd be like, that's amazing. That would be incredible. On season seven. No, I mean, imagine an alternate universe, like where we both did amazing and we were friends on the show and we got the first co-win. If we were friends. It was incredible. Yeah. That would be like, we would be unstoppable. Yeah. You know, would you do a version of all stars with,

59:24Trixie Mattel:with partners? Uh,

59:26Katya Zamolodchikova:no. Cause I hate working with people.

59:28Trixie Mattel:Yeah. Do you know what I mean? People, when they do like drag race, BF edition, I'm like, oh, I don't really want to do that.

59:35Katya Zamolodchikova:No, because it's not. I don't like that. If I'm going to make mistakes, I want to be responsible for them. I don't want to bring anybody down. You know what I mean? That's how I feel.

59:43Trixie Mattel:Yeah. And that's, I guess, my issue with it being judged as a pair. I was like, what the fuck is this, girl? I was like, and in the edit, we're not going to mention we had to make these outfits. Like, girl, bye.

59:52Katya Zamolodchikova:No shit, because I am a seamstress, but I'm not great. and also I need a lot of time and those machines were horrible. I had a very difficult time and it ate up a lot of, you know, time and like, whatever. Yeah. And I hate would have, could have showed up. I would have smoked that Hello Kitty shit. Oh, baby.

1:00:11Trixie Mattel:It's one of the only things

1:00:11Katya Zamolodchikova:that probably would have been good at. I know. Tell me why I thought Katy Perry was coming out.

1:00:16Trixie Mattel:What are you talking about?

1:00:17Katya Zamolodchikova:When they introduced the whole thing and the Hello Kitty character came out in the beginning of the episode. I know. I thought it was Katy Perry. I haven't watched it yet. I thought we were supposed to talk about it next episode.

1:00:28Trixie Mattel:No. Oh, really? Two today. Oh. I thought we were talking about Hello Kitty today. I'm excited for Hello Kitty. I have not watched that. I have not watched that since the first time.

1:00:39Katya Zamolodchikova:Yeah, I have a lot of fun things to talk about that didn't make the edit.

1:00:42Trixie Mattel:I'm excited to see it. So, yeah, shout out to me. I lost again. You lost again. Did you go home in disgrace or were you happy to be released? I was actually grateful I got to do it again. And honestly, I'm talking about me then. I didn't feel like I should have went fourth when I went and I wasn't thrilled about it going the second time.

1:01:03Katya Zamolodchikova:I thought it was a great justice that you get to come back. I was happy. I got to come back. Yeah. And also our broadcasts were happy for another$400 check, baby girl. Boop. Me going home from drag race, feeling rich in the red, $550 Delta luggage. Didn't have that money. Boop. Bye. Bye.

1:01:25Thank you.
