In short

The hosts riff on “becoming conductors” (music and train conductors) and then pivot into a broader conversation about self-care and “treating yourself,” especially through solo activities like video games and walks in the rain. They also debate how modern video games blur into real life—citing romance/dating mechanics in GTA-style games, AI/phone integration, and augmented reality ideas like Pokemon Go and hologram-like sci-fi. Later they discuss holiday comfort movies, Halloween/Christmas traditions, and end with a long chat about buying a “male” leather tote/handbag (gender norms, size, and cost).

Guests

No guests are featured. The episode is a solo/hosted conversation between the show’s regular hosts (Frank and Joey are referenced by name).

Key claims

Conducting is satisfying because the whole body is involved and requires coordinated “lift/shake” motions with a baton. Treating yourself means putting yourself first occasionally (e.g., solo dinner, spa day, or a walk). Video games are heading toward deeper real-life integration via AI, apps, and AR. Dating/romance mechanics could create real relationship friction.

Notable examples

John Williams and other film composers as “movie conductors,” Bradley Cooper’s Maestro, Star Wars-style holograms, Pokemon Go AR, Meta Quest room scanning, Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links, GTA girlfriend/romance mechanics, and Domino’s cheesy bread/cinnamon sticks.

0:00What's up everyone? Before we get into this episode, I just want to let you know that there is a major announcement at the end of it. so stay tuned till the end. Huge. Big announcement. Too much, huh? Too big. Too big. Too big. All right. Welcome back to the basement.

0:21Welcome back to the basement yard. How's it going, Frank? I don't know why I did that like I'm a fucking like like I'm Mozart or some shit. Conductor. Dude, doesn't that look so like satisfying. Can I say something about conductors? I have a question. Of the music. Yeah, yeah. Train conductors. Of the music. Oh, no. Actually, train conductors, too. Is it hard? Train conducting. I think the thing about train conductors, first of all, I don't think any train conductors listen to this, so we're safe. What about these conductors? Those. That's sick. Don't you think you could do it? I mean, train conductor, I could do this.

0:56Look. And then watch, watch, watch. You know? I'm sure there's more to it i'm sure there's a breakup here there's a horn i'll tell you this i have never been in a situation where i can honk a horn like that when that day comes i will be a very happy young man yeah if i am young when that happens i gotta say you're really projecting fall and i'm enjoying that fall's here baby i mean is here is it oh i thought there was like a solstice i mean it's like the end like the the unofficial like how they say the unofficial start of the summer is memorial day when it's still like a month later the unofficial start to the fall is labor day i that labor has been done dade it's done i when i'm looking at your hat and your shirt i'm just like i'm getting a cool breeze yeah i'm getting pumpkins oh i went out for a bike ride the other morning uh the morning where i fell right you know let's make sure we we don't forget that i am a victim and i am injured and i deserve all this let's see your cuts look at those scabs dude dude but i was out there and it was like 62 and i was like oh yeah now we're going now we're we're moving somewhere um but this conducting oh i would get so fucking into it dude i'd probably sweat my ass off because it's like a lot of like jerking well like i just want to like if there's like a big part of it if there's like a big part of it where there's just like a cymbal crash yeah they're just like over here and then you're just like bang like they just fucking it is a little bit of one of these things you know because you got to be able to do this and then you're over here too at the same time while they're going you know what i mean yeah but i think i think it's all and this is me having no previous knowledge of course not i think it's all like you have to it's like one two three like it's it's on account so like sometimes they're they're lifting i love the lift dude or this they're shaking and it's like bring it up oh but i like i like when they get a little soft with it.

2:49They're like, I need a stick. What are those called? A wand? A conductor's needle? A staff. There's definitely a word for it, and we're going to be pissed. I think it's going to be like what you said. It's not a staff. It's not a staff. It's lighter. A needle? A stick? A baton? Oh, good for you. Is it a baton? Conducting baton. Wow. Can we do a little exercise? Sure. Can you try to conduct Frankie's voice? I'll try to follow you. That's a great, great, great job. Are you going to sing a song? I mean, I will follow you.

3:38That's exactly what I think. That's pretty good. Here we go. Here we go. You ready? You ready? Like,

3:53Well, we're not done, we're not done, we're not done.

4:00Yes! I made a hard cut this thing. That's exactly what I, yo. We're both conductors. That shit, look up a conductor doing his thing. Look up a conductor doing, and like, it's gotta be a good song. Don't get a fucking dumpster of a song. But do we know any, like, classical... I mean, like, Star Wars. Yeah, we're not going to be able to play it. Don't hammer us for that. Hey, hey. I just love that, like, they, like... The whole body's in. What was that movie that Bradley Cooper did where he just wore a fake nose and he's like, I'm a different person now. I don't know the name. He was a... Maestro?

4:33Maestro. It might have been Maestro, yeah. But he was, like, a very famous conductor. Yeah, I don't know any. Do you know any? John Williams. I mean, like the people that do the composing for music, like for movies. Are those conductors? When they do like live shows, they conduct the fuck out of it. Yeah, they must. So like John Williams, Michael, you know, Giacchino. Whoever drove the Polar Express. Tom Hanks. I mean, technically. Was he a conductor or was he just kind of like, ah? He was like everyone in that movie, apparently. Bro, that movie sucks. I know you have a special place for it. No, I don't like it.

5:08Oh, okay. No, no, no. I mean, I think that when you watch it, you're like, this is a weird, even like a middle ground of when we had technology that was good and bad. Well, I think what it's kind of sometimes referred to is like the uncanny valley where like you look at it and you're like this. I know it's CGI, but it just feels wrong. You know what I mean? Like they just can't. I have the counting movements. One, two, three, four. Oh, oh, oh, this guy's getting quick with it. That's a long baton, bro. Oh, they got to see it. Oh, I love the, like... Tracking? I love that you could just, like, fuck it up.

5:44Look at how he's fucking holding it up there. Oh, he's in that bitch. I'll be honest with you. I didn't realize that it was, like, a screen effect until, like, maybe a second or a half ago. Oh, you thought he had a ribbon? I thought it was a ribbon, yeah. Yo, honestly, he's, like... Ooh, and the face, too. Like, ooh. That guy would be a good wizard, bro. He's out here, like, casting spells on a bitch. I'm telling you right now, those are two thing and a sword fighter. I think with no training whatsoever, I'd be very good at. Sword fighting? Yeah. Like fencing? No. Pirate fighting. That's different.

6:16Like pirate sword fighting. Or like, you know, like a long sword or a broad sword. Which is the one that they use in like Game of Thrones? I just call them swords. They're different types, brother. I just, but, oh man. And we gotta get our shit down pack because the new Harry Potter show is coming out. I know you're watching that. Hell yeah, I'm watching that show. You're watching that bastard, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Dude, I watched the trailer, so now my feed is just all old scenes. I love it. And I'll tell you right now, Dumbledore? My guy had it fucking going on, dude. Which is like... Gambon?

6:51The bone? You talking about the bone? Yeah, I'm not talking about... I'm talking about, you know, like... No, I didn't know if you were talking about the new one that they have. Oh, I mean, it's John Lithgow. We know John Lithgow. It looks like Santa Claus, though. This ain't Dumbledore. I mean, we gotta see. We gotta see how he pulls through. But like, the Gambon? Bro, I watched the scene where, like, they're placing him under arrest And he's just like, you want me to come quietly? And he's like, no! And he slaps and the fucking phoenix takes him away He is, like, a sassy fuck, isn't he? Dude, he is, like I know that, like, afterward, J.K.

7:22Rowling Was just like Oh, he's gay, by the way Right You watch those movies, there's little things in there to see a little bit of his, like, you know He's got some sugar He's got some Is he the one with the wand with the anal beads on it? Yeah Whoa. That's the elder wand. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Is that the one? Are you not versed in? I don't remember if that was his wand or not is all. The elder wand is his wand, technically. And then who gets it from him? God, this guy is bullshit, dude. You know what's crazy? I feel like those movies are the only ones that I consistently watch year over year.

7:59Nothing else? You watch Home Alone. That's a fact. Well, yeah, that's a good one. Yeah, that's true. Holiday movies are the ones, like Halloween movies, we've already started ripping those. Hocus Pocus has been on, brother. Oh. It has been on. And we are here at our yearly check-in. I just want to make sure I say it again. I believe that Bette Midler as, what's her name, Sanderson in that movie, Winifred Sanderson, is one of the best acting performances I've ever seen in my entire life. Such a funny take. It's a perfect movie nearly. I mean, it's Bette Midler, so. Yeah. And, like, it's just so good.

8:34But it's like Halloween movies and Christmas movies are the ones that like I've probably when you think about them watch the most because you just rewatched. Yeah. Home Alone. Home Alone 2. They're just so good. And also Home Alone like kind of just like I'm not in the Christmas mood until I've watched that. Like that's the thing that gets me over the edge. Do you wait or do you like you play around and you're like you're not like I'm going to wait until the day after Thanksgiving. You're like yo fucking November 19th throwing on. Before it's in stores which now it's getting closer and it's getting earlier and earlier.

9:04and like I've already ripped a couple. Yeah. There are stores that set them up. I mean, I remember when I worked, you know, in big box retail and it was like you got in like the end of August is when you started getting the shipments of all like the holiday stuff. And then the minute they get the opportunity to put it out, it's like honestly like a week before Halloween, they're like put that bitch out there. You'll see like the lights and everything. It's exciting. Well, this is like the time of the year where there is holidays. You know what I mean? It's packed. The rest is kind of spread out, and then you have, like, yo, fucking Halloween, fucking Thanksgiving, and fucking Christmas.

9:38Bro, it's packed. I mean, if you think of it, from October to February, that bitch is packed full of shit. That's true. Like, we got Halloween, Thanksgiving. Christmas. Christmas. If you celebrate Kwanzaa, we have Kwanzaa. There's Hanukkah. There's New Year's. There's President's Day's in there somewhere. Well, that's not a holiday. Some people celebrate quite intently. What do they do? They thank George Washington. And then it kind of ends around Valentine's Day. What were you raising your hand about? Did this summer kind of suck? Speak for yourself. Why? It's just like the weather was ass. I feel like it kind of like zoomed by this one.

10:22Time flies when you're having fun, though. There's a lot of rain. I can't speak for you. I don't even agree with that. Really? A lot of rain. A lot of rain. Was there? I remember a lot of rain, but I can only speak for myself. We went nuts. We had so much fun this summer. So maybe it's just your summer, bitch. Yeah, maybe you've got to go out of your way for yourself more. Probably. When was the last time you treated yourself to something? I've never been to a spa. I want to go. There you go. Does that interest you? No. What are we doing here? What do you like? You said treat yourself. It feels like something.

10:54I'd be treated nice there, I think. Yeah, you would. I mean, but like the treating of yourself doesn't necessarily mean like someone is going to treat you nice. It just means like you do something for yourself a little bit. Like this one's for me. Yeah, you don't go to a spa if you don't like the spa. Well, I would like to get treated nice. Yeah, but you're treating yourself nice is the point that I'm making. When's the last time you treated yourself to something? Wouldn't I be treating myself to a spa day? But if you don't like it. Why are you arguing this? I don't know if I don't like it. Oh, you've never been to a spa?

11:20No, I've never been. No. So you want to go and like, you know, get a massage and maybe sit in like a soaking tub. Cool. Get your feet like rubbed. Yeah, I'm not ticklish. I heard that's a problem for some people. That just looks like he was lying. I'm not ticklish. Come try it out. Okay, so maybe you want to go to a spa? But now you're going to be treating him. Don't treat him. You treat yourself. We're not doing shit for you. He's right. I was about to get a spa day. But you don't want that. He's trying to teach you something. You sometimes have to put yourself first. Don't wait for the universe to do it for you.

11:55You do it for you. Not put yourself first, but sometimes you need to just give yourself a little, like, you know. Yeah, just once in a while. Just a little. Like, you know what? This one's for me. This one. You know what? I'm going to take myself to dinner. I'm going to. Oh, I like that. I'm just going to get that. You know? Like. A little more. A little more. A little. But a little more, like, the shoulders have to be in there. A little. Yeah, but, like, playful. I can't. Should I go? How often do you treat yourself to dinner? Both either? Oh, not often at all. Never. I would say. I like groups.

12:28I don't know that I would enjoy going to dinner by myself, but I would go to a spa by myself or with somebody. Yeah, yeah. Okay. No. Damn it. A spa is not a... It's not... You got to treat yourself a little bit, dude, and that's okay. No one's sitting there and telling you to go goon to yourself. Unless you... Unless that's a form of it. Unless that's a form of it, so then that begs the next question. Treat yourself. Yeah. When's the last time you... When's the last time you treated yourself? A couple weeks ago. I was out in LA for something, and I took myself out to dinner, and I was like, ooh, ooh, ooh.

13:08Ooh, ooh, ooh. You know, and I just got a nice dinner to myself. I had a steak. What's your favorite thing to do by yourself? Second favorite thing. We all know the first thing. What is that? He's talking about... Gooning. Cranking it. Gotcha, gotcha, gotcha. I would say if I have alone time, I love sitting down and playing video games. That's a good answer. I really, really, really do. Okay. It is the one thing in my life that I really genuinely believe that I can do and not get sick of. Okay. I'm talking like an activity. I don't mean spending time with people. You know what I mean? I'm just saying it's the one thing.

13:49No. It's the only thing I enjoy. No, but, like, I can legitimately sit down with a video game or several video games and just play, and I'll be like, oh, my God. Yeah, like, sometimes I'll pop this on, and then I'll go to this, and then I'll go, oh, I haven't played this in a while. So, like, let's say you were, like, you said you were in L.A. So, let's say you were in L.A., but there was a system there with, like, any games. You'd be like, I'm just going to rip this whole afternoon, like, 12 hours. If I had the time. Yeah, that's what I mean. Yeah, if I had the time, I could see myself doing that.

14:18You know, and then I'm going to take myself out to get food. Or if I'm really feeling it, I'll just order food and I'll just be like, I'm gaming here, brother. Oh. I'm fucking. Yo, when was the last time you got like a Domino's and just like, yo, I'm going to fucking be a piece of shit. I mean, I have engaged in piece of shit eating regularly, baby. Don't you worry. Like a cinnamon sticks? Are you cinnamon sticks over cheesy bread? No, cheesy bread. Whoa. Cheesy bread over the cinna sticks. No, I can't do that. Bro, that cheesy bread, I don't know what the fuck it is. It is like crack cocaine.

14:48It is really good But the cinnamon sticks dude Domino's thought they were getting the free plug here They ain't now bitch Cinnamon sticks The cinnamon sticks are good but Wait did they get rid of them? And now they have like balls I mean I saw that someone has like Cinnabon balls Yeah It's like I think that's Taco Bell Taco Bell's got balls and shit all the time dude You ever have the Cinnasnacks from Sonic? I've never had Sonic in my life I've had Sonic once, and boy, oh boy, I never thought anyone would make me hate a hot dog. They sell hot dogs? I thought it was just like ham. Like everything's ham.

15:25No, brother. It's like the idea is it's like an old-timey drive-thru. So it's like a burger joint, and you can get a hot dog. Oh, that's why they have the rollerblades. Yes. Wars were fought over those things. Wait, if you were to just sit down and treat yourself to something, what would you do? Great question. Like by yourself. Ant's not there gooning in the corner. All right. Although he may be. Whatever you want. That's not what I want. Whatever you want. You know, I actually, I am a person who enjoys company and, like, groups. But I do think that, like, there are times I've been finding myself that, like, just a nice walk.

16:08I just like it. Like, just going for a walk. I love how I said sitting down and playing video games. And he's like, being active. No, but, like, I don't like walking when it's hot, though, or when it's, like, freezing. But that, like, I guess I'm just in the mood because of your hat. Yeah, that makes sense. But, like, that kind of weather and just going for a walk, like, ugh. What if, like, would you go out of your way for a walk or would you, like, just walk around where you live? So, like, let's say, like— Drive to a walk? Yes. Like, would you, like, go to, like, if, like, say, like, 30 minutes from you there was, like, a pretty, like, hiking trail.

16:41Or, like, the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. I think that's a good example. it's kind of like greenery and stuff would you go to a walk or would you just walk for the walk really depends where i'm at my mental state because i could probably do that or i would like sometimes like i guess this is how i kind of judge it because there's been times in my life where i feel like i'm really going through it and then i'll just go on like a fucking 10 mile walk or something like just just rip it how long is that taking you four hours all day i mean i don't know no a while but i've done that i've done it in the freezing cold too i don't know there's just something about walking it's like it's not like um it's not like exert it's not you're not like uh exerting yourself you're kind of like walking i mean you're you are eventually you're up yeah after 10 miles you're are you walking you walking in the rain you throwing like a poncho or something on no but i love running in the rain because i'm dramatic gotcha because you're listening to fucking define gravity in your head and you're like stepping in a puddle exactly i'm stepping in puddles as the fucking symbols are crashing no one can see me cry one of those well no i do but running in the rain is awesome like being in the rain is fun because it's like in the rain is really nice when you're young you like being in the rain this is about to be deep but when you're young you're about you like being in the rain and then you're like taught that like oh you're not supposed to get wet not be in the rain and umbrellas and shit but then when you just surrender to the rain you're like i'm just wet there's something nice about that i'm feeling it you know what i mean i mean the kids will anytime it rains Ruby and Maeve will grab An umbrella and their rain boots And go in the backyard It takes all of a minute and a half For the umbrellas to be on the ground And then they're just walking and singing And like scream singing at the top of their lungs In the backyard They crush it There's something about the rain That's a way to do the rain I think there's something in the rain That makes people feel alive Do you remember the video of Drew Barrymore Oh yeah She's like crying in the rain But I get it I get it too It was funny to watch But I get it It depends on the type of rain.

18:37If it's like a piss poor, like, no. I want it like, Becca and I call it 90s rain. Where like, it rains like you can look out and draw if you took a still photo. Like a fat. Like a fat drop. Yeah, yeah. Sometimes you get fat drop. Bro, and it sounds, last time we recorded, last week we recorded, I drove home from here and it was 90s rain. To the point where like, it sounded like this on my windshield. Like, it was fucking heavy. Yeah. And I was like, this is good rain. I don't like sideways rain. I like when it's straight down. So you're only good with straight... Straight rain. You're only good with straight rain.

19:16You don't want the gay rain. I only like when it's, like, coming down. But, like, when it's, like, in your face, you're like, ah, come on. Well, is it not always technically in your face if you're running in the rain? It's a good technically. I mean, yeah. It's true. Every time it's sideways rains, my door leaks. So I don't like sideways rain. I feel like you at this point fix it it doesn't sideways rain that often that's a problem for a different day there's other problems at the front of the line gotcha like taking yourself to a spa no that's back that's way back alright so we will pose the same question to you if you were to have like a by yourself enjoying the time want to like just unwind and be ant what are you doing I like the video games thing play Mario Kart how could you possibly want to do that I just, it's my, it's my, I like it.

20:04Yeah? And I sit, and then I check my phone, no one texts me, then I go back to playing Mario Kart. And then... I love how, like, you're, like... Drink a Snapple. You've gone through all that stuff. Oh, so that's a good... So if you're doing this, if you're doing whatever version of it, what are you eating? And what snacks do you have? He said drink a Snapple. So a Snapple there? Yeah, it's nice. Maybe order from a diner. I like my diner. It sounds like you need to be a little bit more experimental I'm not trying to say that this doesn't make you happy I'm sure it does No, I'll do it This sounds boring as fuck Well, I just think it's a very achievable thing Maybe you could see how you would react to doing some other stuff You're going for a walk That's true What are you talking about?

20:50Hey, hey, hey He's the boss That's true I am talking about going for a walk But that's also because, like, I don't really like doing a ton of stuff by myself. I like company. Me too. Yeah. I love how I'm like, I'd be alone. I'd play video games. And he's like, I like company. But we said if we were alone. No, I know. That's why it's, like, hard for me to think of something. And it's like, but even, like, something like video games. I don't like playing if I can't be, like, on Xbox with people. Really? Me too. Oh, I love. I literally. But you guys are, like, storyline video gamers. Yes. I don't like.

21:21Like, if I was into that, like, there was a time where, like, I would play, like, Assassin's Creed. and it's like, no one fucking talks to me. Oh, man. But it's like, that doesn't really happen anymore. I think, I mean, it's just about finding the right game. I'm sure if you popped on, like, fucking FIFA, you can just lose yourself in FIFA for an hour or two. Well, I'm losing myself in FIFA currently. Well, you're losing your mind. Yep. You're probably losing your mind. Have you seen the new Call of Duty gameplay? No. Might be back. Might be back. Also, Grand Theft Auto's coming out, so. I was never a huge GTA guy.

21:51I like Grand Theft Auto, but I also haven't played in forever. But this, it's getting to the point where I'm just like, what the fuck? Like, they're putting, like, real-life casinos in it. You can, like, gamble with, like, your real money. I also don't know if this is real, but I saw online that you have, like, a girlfriend that you have to text and make sure that you're, like, treating her nice. And I'm like, I have one. So I asked this question in our group chat. Like, at what point does that become your life? like at what point does that become cheating so like if i were to be playing grand theft auto because i think they said that like that part of the game that you're referencing you have to like romance and date your in-game i gotta flirt i gotta like yeah so like at what point does it become like this is a problem because i don't know if grand theft auto 6 has this mechanic as of recording it's not been out and i haven't seen an answer on it but like what if you can like full-on just have fucking gangbang sex in the game gangbang i don't know why i started that i would start slower um i yeah i don't know i mean i i would imagine it's not at that point i want you to get into the ai of it all i would say that starts to i would say right yeah i would say it's like this is weird like if like i think if you have to use your boy like if you have to like pick like choose and be like take her to dinner or sit on the couch or do whatever like those like that's fine but if you have to like put on the microphone be like hey babe it's me again then it's like all right this is crazy she's just like babe hold on she's coming back in the room what no but like honey why you're calling me so late that song is about cheating you told me that i oh yeah never put that together you told me that until later in my life yeah i I didn't either until I became an adult.

23:40My girl's in the next room. Sometimes I wish she was you. Bro, completely fucked. I just, I feel like it's getting to a point with this game where like, it is an optional part of the game to do the whole romancing thing. So like, I can imagine there will be relationships that as a result of that are, like they suffer because it's just like, you know, whoever it is, they'll be like, what, you're not going to take me out for a date? Marissa would never treat me this way. Yeah, exactly. But just like in the game, like you're out and you're going on full dates and then you're like shooting up a gas station.

24:12In GTA 4, you also had a girlfriend that you could take on bowling dates. And we convinced our friend that if you go on a hundred dates, you get an achievement and then there's a sex cut scene. Complete lie. He did. You guys are fucking horny little bastards. He did a hundred bowling scenes. Then he went, what the what? Yeah. And we went, oh, yeah. I mean, it's almost worse that he told you guys I did it. Like, if he had just done it and not said anything, he'd be like, they were fucking with me. Also, the payoff is a Grand Theft Auto sex scene. Yeah. Forms right there. Yeah, a 2008, you know, fucking sex scene in a video game.

24:47It takes so long. Or just a full human woman experience could have been. We'll suffice that. I don't think we were there yet. Or man. However. That is true. That's fine, too. Or any other. Right. Just cover it all. I'm just saying I think that like It's going to be interesting that stories that will come out Because there's always these people that were like With Grand Theft Auto coming out They're just like oh you know honey I'm not no more dates for the next couple months Because I'm going to be playing the game But there will be a version of that where it's just like They're basically like having a full-on relationship in a game That's yeah that's that's tough You think eventually or like I don't see it's unrealistic that they'll be able to call you From the game to your phone And it'd be like voice lines That I think we're crossing a line.

25:32We're crossing a line. I don't see that being super unrealistic. I don't think that's unrealistic either. I think that, if anything, the future of video gaming is that, like incorporating your actual life into the game and interacting with you back. When you really think about where everything is going to, like with AI and everything, it's like now interacting with your – and like, I don't like it. Yeah, like there's an app where it's like the Grand Theft Auto 6 app, and it's like your girl can call you and tell you to come and let's go and rob a bank together. It would be kind of like Pokemon Go where it affects your in-game character.

26:04Exactly, yeah. I don't like any of that. They had shit like that where you could talk into a microphone and it'll determine what's going on in the game. It's not worked well, but they had Pokemon games like that where you could be like, Pikachu, jump! And Pikachu will fucking jump and shit like that. I'll tell you this. If it gets to the Pokemon level where I can talk with fucking Charizard, then I'm kind of in. But doesn't Charizard not speak English? I mean, but they could understand you. That's true. And you could understand them, but to everyone else it sounds like, Char! You know what would be fire?

Read the full transcript

26:37You know what would be fire? If there were, like, glasses that you could wear, and then there was, like, actually you could Pokemon battle, and, like, they appear, like, on the street. You know what I'm saying? Like, we're in a park, and, like, we look insane to everyone else. Well, so, like, that kind of already exists with Pokemon Go. So, like, you can turn on, like, it's, like, I don't know what the toggle is called, but basically, if we're sitting here and we find that there's a Pokemon in this room and you turn it on, you have to, with your phone, look around and you'll see the Pikachu hop up on the desk.

27:10AR. Is it AR? Yeah. What's AR? Augmented reality. Oh. So it kind of already exists like that. And there are games like on the meta quest where like you could put it on and it'll scan your room. And your room will like look like someone is like an alien is like taking the roof off your house. And you have to like shoot shit like that. I don't know if I like that. How do we not have a Yu-Gi-Oh! duel thing yet where we put a card down and a hologram comes up? I could play Pot of Greed. Yeah, what happened to holograms? That was so like awesome like in Star Wars where like you could send a message.

27:44I'm letting you know right now. You guys We are at a really cool part of the conversation I'm so happy we're talking about this About holograms? I'm just saying Like in terms of like video games And shit like that Where I could I But it would also not be good for my marriage You know what I mean? For holograms Cause like if Becca is like Walking up the stairs And I go It's time to Duh duh duh duh duh Yeah that'd be so sick And she'll walk up And she'll be like You're 34 Yeah yeah Stop talking about dark magician You know what I mean? Like that would probably Babe Set an extra plate Blue-Eyes White Dragon's having dinner with us tonight Oh my god Babe, Kaiba's here Or like you're getting a phone call You should be like, hold on Professor Oak's calling me That should be cool as fuck I can't go Professor Oak is calling me We have a call later Babe, you understand I gotta work call it too It's Professor Oak It's not like it's wrong Can you just google the closest Pokemon Center for me you know Nurse Joy needs to see Weepinbell if I don't get there first I don't get my new Pokemon yeah dude let's bring back I had like recently downloaded a Yu-Gi-Oh!

28:53game and was playing with Josh like he had downloaded it too really? Duel Links? yes god it's so good it's so good is that a phone? it's an app it is I will say it's kind of passed us by a little bit like now it gets a little intense with some of the things where it's like you need to use special proto monsters to Duel Links zoom monsters and I'm like, what happened to the old stuff? I just want to hit attack. I just want to hit attack and defense. I've lost in one turn. I want to snap my phone in half. The game's like that now. We went back to cards, me and Chaz. It's just fun. Do you want to do it?

29:27We do the whole, like, God, please, heart of the cards, please. Sometimes you need it. Sometimes you need it. You do need the heart of the cards. I'll tell you right now, once you throw down your first blue eyes, white dragon, you ain't going back, baby. Dude, when I opened a pack of Yu-Gi-Oh cards and got a Blue Eyes by a Dragon, I was like, yo, this is the fucking best moment of my life. And then you got the Blue Eyes Ultimate, and you summoned the Blue Eyes Ultimate by sacrificing, what do they call it? Is it sacrificing? You summon a new monster, but you have to give your other ones for tribute.

29:59Yeah, sacrifice for tribute. Remember Obelisk? This is getting real nerdy. Yeah. Obelisk the Tormentor, do you remember him? No. The guy was fucking jacked. I remember Gate Guardian. that was a good card golden wing of raw you gave me for my birthday one year you gave me the arm thing with exodia all the arm all the pieces of exodia and I was like oh this is cool I was fucking I remember when we had tournaments in like fifth grade at lunch and there was this kid who had pieces of exodia and he's like but they're not real they're Asian and I was like what well there was that place by our school that like they sold packs and you were just like oh sick and then you go but they were like the the packs from japan yeah so like you'd get the card and you wouldn't be able to read anything or know what it did and it's before the internet so you just had to make shit up and i remember there was always like i would just be like oh you could see like the numbers for like attack and defense but like it'll be like the special effect is like you have to forever give me your card you just make stuff yeah just make shit up 100 man oh those are the days those are Where are the days?

31:09And now we're old, and we're talking about going on walks. Yeah, what's wrong with me? There was a time. I mean, when you gave me the Game Boy, I was ripping that a lot. Yeah, you never finished it, did you? I didn't, but... Your Charizard is in there, and he's just pissed off at you right now. He is good. He's my strongest one. Don't have a Zapdos. Pissed. I don't know if I've ever completed a Pokemon game. That's outrageous. That's great. I mean, completed in one sentence. Caught all the Pokemon? Never. Or made it Is there an end? Like made it to I mean there's an end To beat the elite eight I don't think I ever Got past Snorlax I was like this is dumb That is the beginning Of the game sister That's like midway through And then I just walked around It's also like Such a cool part of the game Cause like you Use this Pokeflute And this thing wakes up And you're like Holy fuck This strong ass Fucking fat Fucking Pokemon Also I fuck with the I always got scared By Lavender Town I don't fuck with it I really don't fuck With that at all I really don't fuck with that type of music at all, no.

32:09Yeah, they'll get you. Also, I just reminded myself from doing that little whistle, I watched Hunger Games for the first time in my life. I had never seen it. Yeah. But I like bow and arrows. So I was kind of in. Of the big bow and arrow movies, though, not the one that you want to watch. Lord of the Rings. Lord of the Rings, brother. Obviously. Or even the Avengers, dude. My guy Hawkeye. Yeah. Rambo. Rambo. He does use it. He does use it. Yeah. Big, big, big. The only thing I remember from Rambo is that he had a.50 cal in one of the last movies. Yeah. You ever see the meme where they edit it out, and he just looks like he's giving a really hard thumbs up?

32:48Because he has a Gatling gun, but it just looks like he's giving a really hard thumbs up. No, I haven't seen that. That's funny. But in that scene, yeah, you can pull up the meme.

33:00It's great. But it's like he has a 50 cal and people are just exploding. It's insane. Anyway, that's a good transition probably to the ads, people exploding. Explode those ads all over our face. Yeah, no problem. Listen, football season is right around the corner and you can make your Sundays more fun with prize picks, all right? Prize picks is a fun game. It's the only place where I really buy my tickets because they let you know if you're paying a good price for a ticket or a bad price for a ticket. It's color-coded, dark green, very good. Dark red, very bad. Stay away from that. That was a pretty good snap. Can you, how many fingers can you snap with?

39:45I did something recently. Like, I, I, I bought a bag. Yeah. Oh. Like a purse. Oh. Oh, like a man purse? What are you doing? Like the, like the ones that go around like like a fatty pack that you kind of put around your like you're my father no it's it's like a bag oh like a handbag kind of good for you a nurse good it's a it's like technically it's a tote bag how short are the the hoops though that's what really makes the big difference i think there's both can we see this bag oh you don't want to pull it up because you want to show us i'm gonna gatekeep it for now you're gonna gatekeep that can we just see how it has to be held um you can strap okay like a cross you could oh it's like a bag i'm confused as to what like you're teeing this you're keying this up because there's something about the bag that we need to know about is it just because it's like a purse i think that yeah cool i think that i'm making i'm i'm breaking down not me i'm no no you absolutely are but i'm like for me am breaking down gender norms.

40:58Exactly what my fucking, what those people were screaming about into the airwaves. First Harry Styles wears a dress, now you're buying a purse. Now I'm buying a purse. Now you're buying a purse. But I was thinking about it because I had like, I've had laptop bags and like, they're nice, but like, I can only put my laptop in this. So now, so what's the idea with this purse now? Are you going to be - I can put my laptop in it, but I can also have a bunch of other stuff in it. Oh, so like, I love, So like you'll throw your keys in there Yeah You'll throw your wallet in there Maybe not Wallet always stays on my body Phone That also stays on my body But keys So just keys in your laptop Headphones Maybe a moisturizer Which fit Oh okay So alright Now I'm getting it Maybe like an extra charger Just always be prepared for whatever may come And this is what purses are What's going on What's the size?

41:52The size is like, I don't have it yet, but I ordered it. But it's like. Well, what was that? Did they show like a picture of it on a person? Yeah. And? What was it? What's the question? Give us a good general size. Oh, I would say that it's probably like. That's not a purse. I mean, brother. Bro, it's big. He's getting there. Don't you say my purse is not a purse. That's not a purse. Honestly, I don't like the way that you're talking about his purse. First of all. That's my purse. Well, I'll be honest with you. I was like, I think that, I was like, yo, I want to get a purse. Was that, so like, what was that?

42:25Yo, I'm saying it like that. Yo, I want to get a purse. And I bought something, and then I was like, it was too big. I'm like, this is too crazy. Too much of a purse. It was just like a giant bag that I'm like, I could literally probably fit. Did you have to kind of like find a middle ground between like what is not enough of a purse and what is too much of a purse? I definitely wanted it to be. Hold up that basement yard tote bag. Right there behind you so we can show off the new merch and we can talk about it. Actually, no, that one's not coming out until holiday. Not that one. Yeah, it's a different tote.

42:55I cleaned up for reasons. Is it the second one? I have a feeling you bought the second one. Right. Yeah, that's one. That? No, I did not buy the money. That's$5 ,000? Joey, I'll be honest with you. If I saw you out with that, unironically, I might hit you. What the? I'm not doing this. Come on. Oh, here we go. Oh, oh. That is insane. A money bag crystal clutch. This is more of a clutch. I mean, that's also a clutch. That's a clutch. Yeah. It's not a purse. But you see what I'm talking about? The purse, I'm picturing purse size tiny purse. Yeah. No, no, no. It's not a handbag. The people that wear purses are listening to this right now, and they're about to scream because there's definitely a word for the size at which you - It's a tote.

43:36It's a tote. It's a leather tote. Can we look up male leather tote bags? We don't know if he bought that one. I mean, I'm not saying we just need to get an idea as to like the general - Well, you're putting purse. Oh, did you get that second one? Who told me purse? I just said tote. Did you? Now we're getting somewhere. It looks more like this. So you see the first picture, that brown one? Nope. Oh, that was the first one, but I know which one you're talking about. Yeah, this one, it looks kind of similar. That's just a purse. Yeah, yeah. I mean, this one has like a strap. Is that a purse? What is it then?

44:06I don't know. I mean, it's not a purse. I'm saying purse, so we have an idea of what we're talking about. It's kind of a handbag. Yeah, but this one has a strap. So at what point do you stop? Are you going to have like different ones? like you'll have a black leather one you'll have a brown leather one you'll i just got black leather or pleather i'm trying it out i actually don't know if it's real leather and i have no idea joey i'm serious i'm sure you got the real leather it's all right it wasn't that crazy how much do you think i spent on it um 200 bucks it was a little bit more than that 270 no it was like three something 340 but like some of them like there's there's like thousands dollars of bags.

44:43So this is honestly you have just made my job so much easier when it comes to your birthday and the holidays. Getting me purses? Now I can just get you like a Louis Vuitton bag. No I don't want that. I can get you like a coach bag. Nope. At what point do you just go to full on clutches? I actually go full on clutches? No I'm not doing that. Oh that dog one though. I don't know. Here's the thing. If I saw someone with this I would be mad. Yeah. Outside of like Paris Hilton I can't see anyone you know using this. How much is this? $3 ,000. What are you putting there? Oh, it has a little dog collar.

45:16Oh, I don't care. That better be solid gold. The collar's not the part of it that's annoying. It's the dog. No, I don't even know if I can pull off a bag. But I'm like, you know what? I want something that I can put my laptop in with a couple of other things. I love when he does this. Throw it on my shoulder and get a little cool. I love when he does this. Yeah, I love when he does this. They're going to be like a fucking gay slash feminist icon, Joe Santagato. He absolutely can. You and Harry Styles, baby. All right. Let's chill. There are a couple different parallels. We both did shows at the MSG.

45:49Don't ask how many. We both did them, though. Technically. We both did shows at MSG. We did the same places. We did the same places. Yeah. We, you know, you're now wearing bags. You're now wearing bags. Well, I haven't worn it yet. But I'll come here with the bag. Yeah. I actually, I went for a run, and I ran over the Williamsburg Bridge. Have you seen the videos of Harry Styles going to soundcheck? No. I think he lives in Brooklyn. Or maybe Zoe Kravitz lives in Brooklyn. But he's been walking over the Williamsburg Bridge to go to the Soundtrack. Why does it matter where Zoe Kravitz lives? I'm just saying he's walking from Brooklyn to Manhattan.

46:23Zoe Kravitz lives in Brooklyn together. They're together, yeah. Oh, I didn't know that. Well, context clues would help a little. Yeah, I don't know why. I assumed he knew that. So he's been walking over. I don't know if he's been doing it, but he was walking over to go to Soundtrack. Well, I saw when he hosted SNL, he walked every day. Right. So I ran over the bridge not too long ago, like last week. And in the middle of the bridge, there's paparazzi waiting. Oh, for him? Yeah. And I'm like, that's insane. Probably take a different route now. Yeah, I don't know. I mean, I imagine. Or he just go through it.

47:04Like, all right, so let's do something here. Just as an experiment. Google things that Harry Styles does. Come on. And I want to see. What do you think is going to pop up? I don't know, but if there is a list, I imagine there are people that keep tabs on him. What are you expecting to pop up? I'm just, I want to see if there are parallels between your life and his life to the point where we could say, Joe Santagato, Harry Styles. We can make a safe assumption here that no. You act like Google is this magic wand. He does. My guy. But I'll tell you what. And also the vagueness. Look at things Harry Styles does.

47:41I'll tell you this. He likes cold water swimming. No, you don't like that. Where are you getting that? Meditation. He's not there yet. It's a matter of time. I have done it. Learning languages and skills. He does like that. You do like that. Let me answer for you. Okay. Clubbing and electronic music. No, he does not. I don't think you. That's all I got. Only in Europe. Probably. Oh, he runs marathons Well, now we're getting warmer He runs marathons I don't know that we would classify He's like a legit runner We're getting warmer now He broke a three hour marathon He's Harry Styles It's fast, it's shit He's also wearing Women's clothing At a certain point, do you think that you will Make the transition into wearing Dresses and stuff like that And I'm not saying that in a judgmental way I am legitimately asking.

48:35I don't know. Maybe if I get invited to the Met Gala, except get canceled, maybe then that's where I would. That's the pipeline. Yeah. Okay. His birthday's in February. He's a Pisces? I mean. What am I doing? I don't know what the hell that was. Tell me when his birthday is. The first. Oh, well, that ain't you. That's probably not. Well, I would have said that it's on his birthday. That's a different sign, even. You don't even know Joey's birthday. What's my birthday? See? 20. 5th. Wow, you got it. Damn it. Fuck. What time? Oh, God. I'll give you a hint. There's only two digits because one doubles.

49:16What am I? I'm cracking a safe. I mean, I just gave you a... 722. No. 646. 646. See, Frank knew that. I knew that one. He set me up on the second question. His first word was cat. Joey. How are you actually getting this information? I'm texting him. Hey, what was your first word? I think we're seeing some possible parallels between you and Harry Styles. And that's okay. Oh, no. I'm not saying that. I was going to say, oh, no. You're slowly becoming one of the biggest stars in the world. I don't even sing. You could sing. Hannah. What was that? I'm sorry. What the fuck was that? Who are you? I think I tried to stop a laugh and it just said, where did you go?

50:06The throat. Do you think if I purse it up a lot that you guys may be infected with the purse? Ooh, that's how they said that the Harry Styles wearing dresses was going to go. Right, yeah. That's what they were. Everyone was just like, this is an attack on masculinity. It's like, this is one person wearing a dress. Yeah. I mean, I kind of have my laptop bag. I put stuff in. I don't think so But Look what happened With everything else With watches really Yeah I just feel like It makes the most sense To have something Where if you want All your shit with you It just feels like I'm cutting your ass A little bit I think that Whoever said like This incredibly Like Functional Useful thing Is just for women Yeah Come on Yeah nah Throw us guys a bone Make life easier for us Yeah Yeah, especially the straight white ones.

51:00Look at him. Look at him. Straight white. And can I get a break? There's something that is not tailored to you. Figure it out. And everything should be. And everything should be because it already is. Right. And it should be. And that's what I'm used to. So moving forward, that should be the case. And if it's not, take it and call it. Vote against it. Take it and let it politically motivate you. Yes, absolutely. And just forget about anyone else. What else do you even need to know about and think about? I just like the things that affect me and benefit me and just not anyone else. And I don't want to think about it and don't get me started on religion either.

51:44Hey, guys, have you heard of this new invention of handbags? They're for guys and they're fucking cool. You know? Oh, hey, you know what would be smart if we start selling these for women? Yeah. So it's like a man's handbag but for women. Right. And then we become billionaires. Right. It's a concept. There it is. It's an idea. Well, I think it's a great idea, honestly. I'd invest. 58:01What? Yeah, exactly. What's your problem? Tell the truth. That is what we are concerned of. Yeah, no, yeah, no. I'm going to go in there. I'm going to poison the whole fucking pool and kill everybody. Exactly. I like that. It's like, what? You're worried that I'm going to start handing out drugs in your establishment and get you guys shut down? Yep. I'm going to make a lot of money here from these people and sell them? Yes, that is exactly what we are worried about. That's why you always need a couple of sock pills. That's what they call them. What? A couple of sock pills. You can't bring in a whole pill bottle just in case.

58:27You've got a couple of sock pills. Also, do you put pills in your socks? No.

58:36Sounds like you put pills in your socks, brother. Cannot confirm nor deny. Wow. I would never do a pill. Also, what pills are you putting in your sock that you can't just take? Like, you're young and in shape. Do a little molly or something? I'm saying you just need sock pills. I don't want to hear about you doing drugs, dude. I like you. I don't. He will not respect you. I like you a lot. I like you a lot. Oh, my God. We completely forgot about the announcement. Well, we told you guys that we did have an announcement earlier in the episode, and we do have an announcement. Sorry. That's not how you sit down.

59:12I wanted to get comfortable. To make the announcement, we have a special guest, so please welcome to the show Mr. Sean Evans of Hot Ones. Thank you all so much. Yes. Thanks for having me, guys. There's a live crowd here. of a billion people. Dude, what's up? Thanks so much for having me. Good to finally meet you guys. Welcome to the show. Thanks for coming. Did Wing Pong have a little adjacent? We thought we would see you in the hallway. That didn't happen, but it's fine. I thought there was a bunch of pictures. We saw you there. It happened when it was supposed to happen. Exactly. On this fateful day.

59:46On this fateful day. Yes. There's an exciting announcement. There is an exciting announcement. I don't know what to say. We have a new show called Hot Ones Game Night, and I am thrilled that we have secured the best host in the game. He's in the room right now. Thank you. Very likable guy. Yep. Congratulations, Joe. Let's go. Let's go. Sorry, I know that there's more to announce before I ask my series of questions. Yeah. Good news begets more good news Because appearing on the show Will be Frank There you go Clap dammit Is it the pilot? We don't know but Frank will be there First of all I want to say Thank you for using the word begets on here Because that has never been done before ever In the entire existence I didn't even hear that Well open your ears I was listening to all the compliments at first I was like wow this is going really well Yeah this went really well Anything because you know you said best in the game Hosting it great in terms of guests where do i rank the best one that hot ones game night has ever had that's for sure all right honestly technically not wrong yeah that's true yeah that's gonna be fun congratulations thank you and i'm really excited the game uh is a lot of fun yeah so like me and greg are also like executive executive producers on it and basically i'll be sitting down with a celebrity guest every single week playing a board game there'll be questions there'll be hot wings i will be tortured it will be a fun time and we've recorded some episodes and they're just a ton of fun yeah yeah they they were they were a lot of fun the game was a lot of fun the aftermath might have been something they might have left something to be desired there but i i enjoyed it i mean i'm also like a i like like hot stuff and stuff like that so i'm like yeah i was fucking pumped and shit like i'm sure in your guys's position though that that goes away pretty quickly it's tough i don't know how you do it where you eat that many hot wings in your life well it's interesting to talk to you because i feel like this is a unique experience you're like the only other person on the world that i can talk about you know hosting the show where a prerequisite is that you have to eat extremely spicy wings you shot a few episodes i am curious how has that experience been for you like i feel like i'm hot ones right now he's asking really good questions um throw begets in there again i feel like uh i wasn't really paying attention to that part because once this idea started forming i was like this just sounds like such a fun idea and then once i arrived on set for the first taping i was like oh shit i have to eat these yeah why did i say yes to this yeah and then uh after the first episode i was like i don't know how you do it and i was also like we're never gonna like shoot two in a day right like because i'm dying over here like i i think that uh you know it's it's an honor to be able to work with you know the the first sweet feast company and do this show uh but definitely doesn't come for free what there's a price you pay for doing what was harder for i guess either of you is it the wings or the milk and or dairy that comes as a result well i always tell guests you know like when they're really crushing milk i'm always like hey i know that this sounds insane given the circumstances right now but a milk problem is actually much worse than a hot sauce problem is it really oh i learned that problem first episode that's how the game works yeah absolutely slam these things out are you not a whole milk guy no i mean it's just the volume and the chemistry experiment that's going on in your stomach when you combine those kinds of forces so i always tell people like you know maybe a glass of milk over hot ones but when they keep refilling it i'm always like that's going to be a problem later but i can't talk them out of it when they're just trying to survive the moment That was me.

1:03:43We did Wing Pong. This was our first experience ever eating those wings. The amount of milk I drank was more than I've ever had since, like, 1999. But it was also done out of, like, necessity. If I had not drank that much milk, I would have died, honestly, because those were hot. Those were very, very hot. But you pay for it later. Brother. but here is I think kind of if there is a glass a glass of milk half full take on this okay it's that the more you do it the easier it gets it's kind of car it's kind of like cardio you know like the more you do it the easier it gets the more comfortable you become in the uncomfortable I've started to look at each shoot as kind of a weekly ritual that I work my way up towards and then that makes the whole experience kind of easier for me but that's through many many years in this game yeah you know like you'll learn these lessons and how you take those going forward you'll learn those all firsthand but just in doing baby i cannot imagine the reps because i've done years of cardio and it has not gotten a single second i'll tell you that right now and i love how two fucking like in shape people are just like it's like cardio it's like i hate that maybe there will be an episode that afterwards i don't go to the bathroom to cry a little bit maybe that will be the case also i just get this thing where like five hours later there's just like a fireball sitting right here.

1:05:07Yeah, or a cramp. I just want to eat more. Cramps are tough. Yeah. You might need to invest in a bidet of some sort. That helped me quite a bit. I've been ripping Tom. Yeah. Great product. They're not paying me to say that, but great product. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's like, he's like the game. Also, Tom's now is like candy, dude. I don't know what they did. Yeah. I mean, at the office, there's like chalk ones. We got to get the candy. Because the candy ones are good. We got you. If you need a Tom's plug, I'm your guy. Hey, let's get the candy ones in there. No, but those are, yeah. So that's kind of like my thing.

1:05:39My guess was like, I'm going to have a TUM beforehand, and then afterwards I'm going to just get right before what I imagine an OD would be. And then also. Have a TUM, cry a TUM. Yeah, yeah, exactly. But I did hear that there is possibly some adverse effects from just like taking TUMs, which is just like more bloating, but like I'm down to bloat. Yeah. you know any port in a storm yeah exactly yeah yeah have you had to become like the like expert of science in terms of eating certain things like understanding the biology of what's going on in your stomach to be totally honest with you i don't overthink this you know i always like kind of the way that i compartmentalize is i'm like you know what ray lewis played 17 years in the nfl you know like yep you know he stacked those games and did a lot of years you know can be doing can doing hot ones be more of a physical, lifelong liability than playing linebacker in the NFL?

1:06:39I tell myself, no, you know, and like maybe that's just an idiot talking himself into something. But I'm always like, if he can do that, I can do this. But I really don't overthink the prep or even the postgame. Like I kind of just eat light before, rip the show and then go home, turn on the air put on some basketball shorts. It's becoming like a Pavlovian way, a kind of a reward moment of my week that I actually really enjoy. Yeah. You're like, I'm going to go home, put on some loose shorts. Yeah. Yes. And in front of the AC, I'm not on email. I'm not picking up any calls. Like it's become kind of a really lovely part of my week that I look forward to any, any, uh, uh, have you experimented with ice packs?

1:07:24If that helps at all, just like the external temperature, or just kind of cool things down inside? I've only done like a couple cold plunges in my life, but now the wheels are turning. You're welcome. That one's for free, by the way. Next one I will ask you to pay for. Upside down. Thanks, Frank. Head in there first. I think there are worse parts that you might want to throw in there first. And you just did the math on that. So if I'm giving you some tips, you know, we talked about the milk. The other thing is when you're eating these wings, you're going to have sauce on your fingers. Be very careful around the eyes.

1:07:55thoroughly wash your hands after every shoot because you won't think about it. You'll go to take a piss, and then you'll have a problem that's worse than the milk problem. And I don't want you to learn that lesson the hard way. I actually got, I don't know what it was, but something under my fingernail. And then when I have my hand down like this, it's pressing against my nail, and it just feels like I have a wound or something. It's like a hot pepper under my finger. Sometimes I'll take a shower that night or whatever, my whole body will be hot. Yeah, and I'm like, what's going on with my fingers?

1:08:25It was days after, like three days after. And I'm like, I'm showering. I'm doing whatever. I'm trying to get it out. But there's something lodged under my nail. You'll be forever changed on the other side of this. I wash my hands like a fucking surgeon the times I've done it. Like I'm in there and I'm like putting like the arms up like that and stuff like that and walking out like this. You got to be thorough because when I was younger, I had like cooked with a spicy pepper and like didn't wash thoroughly. and it hurt. Like medically, I thought I had a problem, but it was just... Learn every spice problem from first-hand experience.

1:08:58Yeah, you figure it out. It wasn't anything real dangerous or scary. I tried to melt down spicy candy once and I pepper sprayed the whole house. Well, I... What? We did a video where we cooked and I just saw a thing of pepper on the counter and I just used it, but I guess the pepper that it was was... Remember the red pepper when we did the cooking video? it like everyone in there could not breathe yeah it was it was pretty dangerous but oh god well it was fun yeah you'll be all right i'll be a fine we'll see you'll be a fine i'll be a fine just like nervous thinking about it i'll be like six months down the line but i don't know if i could do it fuck well a lot of good news begetting good news there's another beget But unfortunately, I have some bad news.

1:09:49So as part of the initiation into the great fraternity of spice, we did bring some wings over here. Greg's got quite the pep in his step walking with these. Yeah, you smirking, smiley bastard. Do you have a preference? Do you want the flatter to the drum? What is this? I'm trying to think about which one looks not as sauced, but they both look even. I have a feeling that this is just like a good hee-hee-ha-ha. Like they're not actually like hot. And it's just like, we got you. No, I don't think that Greg's going to. They're hot. Are they? I knew it was. Why do I have one? Because what do you mean, why do you have one?

1:10:28And now you'd be sitting there giggle McGee. Also, what about you back there, bastard? Yeah, go get one now. Oh, you really didn't expect that one. Yeah, go get a wig. Go get a wig. Yeah, you're involved. We're all doing this now. Now you got to be in. You guys want one. He just wants everyone to eat a win. All right. I think we just got a rip dip. Yeah. Congratulations. Thank you. When is the first episode coming out? September 30th. That was a good one. September 30th, the first episode on the First We Feast YouTube channel will be coming out. So look forward to that. No idea what time, but we'll figure it out along the way.

1:11:01But definitely go check it out. These are definitely hot because I sniffed it and it punched me in the back of the fucking uvula. It smells good, honestly. Cheers. Cheers. Here we go, baby. Cheers to you. Let's go. And let us know how our technique is as well. So I like the technique for both of you. It's just very shoot first, ask questions later. Oh, my God. Why do we have to? Oh, no. You can't breathe too much. Because if you breathe and you kick something back, like, into your sinus or something, goodnight. Oh, boy. I love how quick you're learning. You know, I love how you're picking all these things up.

1:11:39I'm trying to like eat while breathing. Holy shit. I'm trying to eat while breathing out. Because there was a time where I was breathing in as I did. Thank you, God in heaven.

1:11:53What is my... Oh, here it is. Oh, man. My hands are shaking. All right. I want to sing like Limp Bizkit. The glasses are fogging up a little bit. There's something wrong. What's going on? Don't get it. Don't do it. Come on. This isn't right. Okay, we're not going to make people throw up here. Do you want milk? What? Help. I want help. If milk is help, I need it. I think I'm... Oh, fart. I'm going to try and do... Do you personally try to be like, I'm not drinking any milk? So what I always do is kind of mirror what the guest does. That way they don't feel like they're being silly or something.

1:12:26You know what I mean? I'm always trying to let them know that no matter what you're going through, no matter how crazy you think you're acting right now, way crazier things have already happened in this show. So if you're going to reach for milk, that's okay I'm reaching to, I'm always kind of giving Whatever energy they're giving to the show I'm always trying to like return it In equal and opposite measure I'm always meeting them halfway Do you find that most people are trying to be like I'm not going to have anything, I'm just going to What I have found You guys are sitting there talking Every time of your life and I'm passing out He's a host, he is understanding the rhythm Of all of this Lock in Just lock in look at this I got this but I think the guests who walk in with humility end up doing the best it's the ones that I think walk in with a kind of a cockiness or swagger about how they're going to do that always backfires every time okay and also one of my very serious questions is I feel like you're regarded as one of the best interviewers that we have in this day and age uh what advice do you have for me for that approach as far as that goes you know what i would say like uh just whatever you're naturally curious about other people will be curious about so kind of let your own impulse and your own instincts let that drive uh how you construct an interview you know like don't try don't try hard yeah you know what i mean just marinate in the life of somebody else try to understand them do a little armchair psychology and then whatever you're naturally curious about like let that shape the interview and then hope for the best man hope for the best yo you how the fuck are you having a normal conversation right now you know i think that he's right in that when you do it and you're just like a little bit more comfortable in the whatever i'm definitely in pain it really feels like a like a scorpion bit my lips like i have like two lines like a vampire like fanged me right here and it's just like a space and i'm gonna pay for that you're very confused by what i'm saying aren't you no you're doing you're drinking an energy drink to try and we got you got the right host you know it's like you're learning all of the lessons and you're either even learning the rhythm of it you know like the way you ate it fast you got it down and then you were on your feet like a cat you know like Ready to feel the question.

1:14:51Ready to react to the rhythm of the show. If there's a pussy over here, it's this guy right here. I'm telling you right now. Well, this is insane. These are great compliments that I'm getting at the moment. Yeah, sweet, guys. I have big shoes to not fill, I guess, but... Fucking God. I have a big... Something. Something. I can't think right now, honestly. There's a lot of stuff firing in my mouth. God, I will say, this is delicious milk. Is this whole milk? He loves whole milk. Oh, I love whole milk. It's the right kind of milk for this situation. If they came over here with skim milk, I was going to throw it in their face.

1:15:24Does anyone ever ask for almond milk and then you got to break it to them? Yeah, no. I mean, no, we'll give it to them. So I don't, I mean, here's the thing. Like, yes, you can try to explain to an A-list celebrity, like actually whole milk is the thing that you use. But like the thing that I've noticed is like as the show's evolved and guests have gotten more high profile over the years, the kinds of dietary requests are like the riders just get weirder and weirder and weirder and then you have these like nut based milks and you know what i mean you know what i mean so um as that's happened we always just try to be like the most comfortable least comfortable interview show so whatever kind of requests guests have about the lifelines that appear around them we'll always just satisfy them but like yeah you're right whole milk is the way to go but it's actually rare that a guest is just going with whole milk but that that tells me that they know ball when I know ball, Sean Evans.

1:16:14I know fucking ball. Isn't it true that almond milk and those milks don't really help? No, you need... Fat, I think? Yeah, yeah, to cut the heat. But you got to know ball. I'm deep in the... Has anyone ever asked for just fucking butter to rub on their mouth or breast milk or something? You know, I'm trying to think. I remember Gordon Ramsay brought in his own Mary Poppins bag of spice antidotes. That was actually, who did that? That was Mark Rober who brought in. He tried to fight spice with science. I remember Gordon, though, he would have donuts. At one point, he brought a milk fire extinguisher.

1:17:00It was a fire extinguisher, and then he could blast milk out of it from across the studio. He had on every wing something new. but here's another thing that you learn okay is that nothing really totally helps like you kind of just have best luck bitch you kind of just have to surrender to the experience of it all and just try to survive you know people are always like oh what's gonna bring me back to normal like when we're in the middle of the interview and sometimes like you just gotta kind of ride it out yeah one thing too that i was very like aware of is not having chapped lips because i feel like if have chapped lips and I eat a hot wing like I'm just gonna you'll feel it you'll feel it it's gonna be bad has anyone ever swung on you afterwards like yo like fucking square up you son of a bitch Marcelo Hernandez actually like semi-recently you know he was just going through it in like a spice k-hole on the bomb you know like fighting night terrors but like wide awake and then I'm hitting him with what I'm sure for him was just this insufferable game where I'm giving him, you know, like just a stranger than fiction news stories and having him decide if that actually came from Florida or somewhere else.

1:18:08And I don't think he's hearing a word that I'm saying, you know, like as he's trapped in his own hell and I just keep rattling these news stories off. And then he got up, I would think to take a lap around the room and he just kind of squared me up and we did. And he just sent a hook, you know, that, you know, like I was able to, I was able to kind of fake But it like looked Like a really well executed Stunt punch in a movie I will say this He is in movies now Yes he is And thank god you got a voice like silk Because if you were out there And you sounded like fucking Gilbert Gottfried Or someone R.I.P.

1:18:46I guess Or like a Long Island mom Yeah if you sounded like a Long Island medium The Long Island medium She's like let me ask you something Let me talk to you about this That would make this ten times worse but you are very well spoken and it begets me. Did I use it? I've also been begotten from both. You've been begotten from the front and the back. Yeah, exactly. Everything has been getting you. I got begotten over here. Now I'm getting it over here. It's really just a, nevermind. Yeah. I'm not going to say that. It's a, it's a, God. Well, I mean, boy, oh boy. Well, thank you so much for initiating us.

1:19:19We appreciate you taking the time to come on the show and make this announcement. Again, thank you for the advice. and the kind words as well. Thank you for nothing from me. I got nothing. I got nothing here. I got your presence. It's an ever-expanding program flight. I know. I do appreciate that. On the next one, we got you. But, you know, I want to say, been a fan for a long time, so it's awesome to bring you in the fold, and I'm really excited for what you're going to do. And I always think, you know, like the hardest part of these things is finding a host that can rock with it, who the audience is going to love, and I really feel like we did that and I'm excited to see what you do, Joe.

1:20:00That's crazy. I just got a panic attack. Thank you for saying that, though. I appreciate that. But thank you, man. This has been amazing. If you want to check out Sean, go follow him on social media. This camera, this camera, this camera. You know Hot Ones, obviously. They've got a much bigger audience than we've gotten over the years.

1:20:26I almost caught one of those on the eye But thank you guys so much for watching September 30th Go check out Hot Ones Game Night And you'll see when Frank is on that show And Sean, thanks for coming And we'll see you guys next time See you September 30th

1:20:52Thank you.
