0:17Emily Oberg:How long gone? Another day in paradise. It's Chris Black coming to you from Manhattan. Them jeans was really good, baby.

0:25Jason Stewart:let's see here Thursday I'm just drinking a little green tea with ginger you know there's

0:32Emily Oberg:there's a nip in the air again unfortunately I've been hearing tales of rain is that yeah

0:38Jason Stewart:you confirm or deny those rumors we had on the record we had some drops a couple days ago I'm I'm not gonna bullshit you I'm not gonna sit here and lie to your face but yeah it was a little bit little bit but you know it's fine it's fine um you know and we're gonna get some more this weekend this v-day weekend other than like dog walking there's not really much of a life-changing hassle when it rains it's kind of it's fun it's it's like a novel thing it's a novel thing unless you like drive your car off a cliff or something bad you know you don't have any cliffs where you live as

1:12Emily Oberg:long as you survive yeah i was i sent you earlier um a new product that i was looking into um little Bow Wow, or excuse me, just Bow Wow, has released his own beaded turban that is to be worn.

1:28Jason Stewart:I'm sorry, you sent me this?

1:30Emily Oberg:I sent this to the group chat with you and David Cho. If you just want to pull it up, it's Red Premium New Beaded Tassels and Patterns Bow Wow Satin Lined Halo Turban. It looks like it's a collaboration. He's also the model. And I just find this to be, just something about this when i scrolled by this is this is the kind of shit i see on twitter when i scrolled by this i just had to share it with the squad because it was just such a shocking something about it is

1:58Jason Stewart:well i mean it is ai generated so there is that um but this this feels like some some mess that white people are not really allowed to comment on i would agree with you except i'm looking at a Bow Wow. This is a satin-lined halo turban. It's beaded. It's tasseled. There's one of the flavors. It's called Jersey Cheetah. One of them is velvet brown.

2:25Emily Oberg:Yeah, you're right.

2:25Jason Stewart:This is a mess that we can't

2:28Emily Oberg:even wade into these waters, Chris. Okay, I'm sorry. You're right. I apologize. I'm just thrown off because the Tate brothers are in New York, and I'm worried I'm going to run into them. Clave LeClerc is in New York. So the energy is off in Manhattan today with all these goons clav is um who's clav walking for again i i honestly i luckily d squared doesn't show in new

2:51Jason Stewart:york so i don't know oh yeah yeah that's honestly that's a good like who's most likely to have him

2:57Emily Oberg:and dolce dolce and gabbana would do it maybe i i don't i honestly don't know i don't know if a new york brand i i think that a new york brand or a brand that shows in new york would would probably know better. I would think.

3:10Jason Stewart:Elena Vasquez, is that what it is? Oh yeah, she might do it. But I feel like she might do it. That would be my, if I had to pick one.

3:18Emily Oberg:I wonder what he is doing here. It is interesting timing. Maybe he's getting paid to go to an event. Maybe he's hosting. Maybe he's looking for a new chin hammer. I don't know. It could be a range of things.

3:31Jason Stewart:I just asked Lauren Sherman, apparently clavicular, he's walking Stella McCartney and then the Tate brothers are going to do Loewe and Kate.

3:40Emily Oberg:I mean, imagine the Tate brothers, those two fucking goons. I mean, it's really funny to see them all in New York. Like imagine seeing walking through Times Square, like annoyed as hell. And you look over and it's Andrew Tate and his brother with a cameraman, like with an iPhone gimbal, getting like a 360 shot of them staring up at New York's worst neighborhood.

3:58Jason Stewart:I would be annoyed that you can't do anything to them because they probably have all those security guards. I'm not.

4:03Emily Oberg:Yeah. I ain't trying to step to those guys. Those guys are protected. Yeah, they're protected.

4:07Jason Stewart:Our friend of the show, I wanted to give a shout out to the Free Sky Ferreira movement. Apparently, she's finally free and they're shutting down the movement. Hold on. Grand opening, grand closing.

4:20Emily Oberg:So you're saying the movement has been active for years, urging the label to let her out of the contract was the cause, correct? Yes. And you're saying that she's now out of the contract, so the Twitter account's going dark. Yeah, they said our work here is done. Pretty cool to not pivot it, depending on how many followers you have, and try to free someone else, I would think. But maybe there's no one else on their radar right now.

4:45Jason Stewart:Yeah, Stereogum says, free Sky Ferrer account is shutting down because Sky Ferrer is free.

4:53Emily Oberg:I mean, look, it makes a lot of sense, logically.

4:55Jason Stewart:It's just rare. I guess, I mean, obviously it's good news that our friend and musical gift is now free from the predatory record label contract that she was held in for years so we are restoring some sanity and peace into her life bless up but it's just weird where you hear some some fuckery like this go down and then they're like okay we did it it's all all done

5:19Emily Oberg:you know you know it works out good for me time and wise because i started this when i was in high school and now i'm an adult with a job and it's it's good for me to kind of move on from this i think that is i mean god bless the movement at least one movement works i agree one we we're

5:33Jason Stewart:working small to big here in terms of our world's pains and woes but yeah there's a comment on here but but ash the god says it's finally backwards free sky tell us backwards and it is finally backwards it's finally you know thank god it's

5:52Emily Oberg:finally backwards that's that's really fucking funny oh maybe do you think that all these people

5:58Jason Stewart:are in New York because the Polymarket grocery store is open. I didn't know.

6:03Emily Oberg:Did Polymarket open a grocery store? Are they competing with Meadow Lane?

6:06Jason Stewart:Yes. Polymarket is doing New York's first free grocery store on 7th Ave. Jesus Christ. It is today until the 16th. I guess if you're white, you get free groceries. This seems like how it works. And then they have a food bank donation on the 16th.

6:24Emily Oberg:We might have to unfortunately ban Polymarket from this podcast as well. This is getting into mogged territory where it's being applied too liberally from everyone. It's the new AI as far as getting the terminology thrown around unnecessarily.

6:42Jason Stewart:So is it maybe because we're using polymarket as a descriptor noun too early in the game? Like it has become the Kleenex? Exactly. Everything just can't be polymarket?

6:56Emily Oberg:We're giving them too much. We're giving them too much. You know? I don't think that feels...

7:02Jason Stewart:We need to free Chris from the poly market.

7:04Emily Oberg:Free Chris movement. Free Chris. Yeah, free Chris movement. I want to give a shout out to Margaret Qualley for looking hot on the cover of the new... Put your cues up. ...Vanity Fair, holding the I Love New York Chanel t-shirt. Not wearing, holding. Period. We need to say RIP to the goat, James Van Der Beek. Yeah, man. Dawson's Creek, an eye-opener for all of us. that's actually really sad. He was pretty... He's like our age. You know what I mean? He's like a little old. Yeah, he was 48,

7:32Jason Stewart:Varsity Blues, Legend, and a lot of stuff.

7:34Emily Oberg:He had 14 kids, which I don't really... No, not actually, but he's got like six. He has a lot of kids. Okay. A lot of kids.

7:42Jason Stewart:He put in work. Okay. But you know,

7:44Emily Oberg:the fucked up thing is that his cause... He went out doing what he loves. He didn't get paid. They didn't get paid for reruns. So he's like... Oh, for Dawson's. Yeah, so like they have a GoFundMe for the family because I think they're broke after all the cancer treatments and shit, which is even crazier. Because that seems like a, that was like a pivotal, like, show. That, you should never have to work again if you were on a show like that for fucking 10 seasons. One would think. You know what I mean? One would think, yeah. That's not, he's one of the greats, but, you know, God bless him.

8:10Jason Stewart:Yeah, good comedic actor in a few other roles later on. Once he was an adult, he was good at kind of playing a guy who is self-aware of his own celebrity and would kind of wink at the camera and like a little.

Read the full transcript

8:22Emily Oberg:Totally, yeah, yeah, very much.

8:23Jason Stewart:I guess, like Neil Patrick Harris kind of style where it's like I made it through the child actor gauntlet. I'm a little fucked up. I'm a little affected but I'm aware of it. I'm going to kind of poke fun at it and that's my way of getting through the darkness versus perk 30s and cutty

8:44Emily Oberg:sark and driving your car. Cutty shark. Speaking of perks though, we got a king down from what you sent me yesterday.

8:52Jason Stewart:Oh yes. Our dear friend, hip-hop impresario, with one of the best names, rapper Gitche Gatti, arrested in Westchester, Ohio. We get it in Ohio, to quote Cameron, but he had, I was commenting on, I mean, he's... He had the pack. As somebody who enjoys a pharmaceutical abuse, I'm going to read what he was officially checked in with into the evidence bin. and let's see if all of these made it out of the old evidence bin see what do you think this punishment is going to be 860 816 oxycon pills 150 60 mg morphines oh big dog morphine oh wow okay 1083 uh vikes and 702 perks okay that's okay that's um does that transcend intent to

9:48Emily Oberg:distribute and that's like yeah that's yeah that's intent that's that's attempted murder i think at that point i yeah i don't know if um i don't know how much jail i'm not familiar with the laws of ohio i'm sure they're um quite strict just based on the the sort of geographical location of being in the midwest i feel like those guys are those guys make no bones about it over there but i got to say that the street value on that is quite high so geechie is is going to be well he's gonna be down bad. Not just from jail.

10:16Jason Stewart:Somebody in the comments replied how much is that worth on the streets estimation wise. We have three replies. No, this is not grog. This is the streets. TWO says they're likely not doing hand to hand. I would say$35 ,000 to$40 ,000. Then Ola Govito says rough estimate$56 ,000 on the low end based on Houston prices assuming he's not doing any wholesale and going pill for pill. biking in at 12. Perka's currently at 20. And Morphines, we can high-end max out at maybe 30. And then the 30-gram Oxys as well, 30. Well, 30-gram Oxys at 30.

10:57Emily Oberg:I thought the price would have gone up a little bit.

10:59Jason Stewart:Lastly, RAQ Rock Riz replies with a simple 62.

11:04Emily Oberg:Okay. So I'm going to believe him. I got to say these numbers are very specific in a way that makes me believe all of them in some regard. But I think that the – 100%. I think that the, I guess, you know, it's interesting because perks are the name brand now of sort of like it. That term just feels like a blanket for all painkillers in the streets. But I mean,$20, you know, I used to be able to get a perk for 10, Jason. I mean, it's not it's not the preferred.

11:29Jason Stewart:Let's get you to bed, Grandpa. Let's get you to bed now.

11:33Emily Oberg:Back in my day, a year 30 was over. i just i just like to see inflation touching all industries yeah that could affect that could affect us um all right we have a guest today oh by the way oberg oberg said she's five late well okay never mind um i guess we'll we'll continue to talk about wrong wrong okay yeah

11:54Jason Stewart:let's see here what else we have um yeah we can just talk about pills some more yeah um the margaret margaret qually vanity fair cover she uh do you think she tried to do the lip bite and then the photographer was like, let's do one without. Let's try one without the lip bite. You know what I mean?

12:12Emily Oberg:She can do whatever she wants, bro. I don't know. I mean, I think it's - Wow, are you a stan? Are you a qualifier? Not even, not. I mean, I'm a qualifier. I've never seen her in anything at all and she's married to Jackie. I guess she was in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, right? A little bit. Did you see that? I did see that. But I know her more as Andy McDowell's daughter and Jack Antonoff's wife. I do like her. Just something about her swag gives me old Hollywood that I really appreciate. That cover feels like it could have been in 1998, and I like that. It feels glamorous.

12:49Jason Stewart:Pair it with the Sidney Sweeney Cosmo cover, and we do have a little bit of a return to form where it's just like, what's the cover idea? Solid color background, tits, and just glam makeup. Big hair. Yeah, big hair. Correct lighting. And it's just, you know, boom, back to.

13:09Emily Oberg:I mean, I think Mark knows what works, you know, based on. I mean, I think the first cover with all the male actors on it was so good and such a throwback. And people were so mad there weren't any women. And it's like that's the whole thing. They did this every. They used to do this.

13:22Jason Stewart:There's no way. Well, every other magazine puts women on their men of the year cover. So I guess it's like, how come I only got ASAP Rocky wearing socks on the beach? I ain't got no damn. where's rita aura at in this mix how come bianca sensori isn't there sending next to me i got asap

13:41Emily Oberg:rocky and socks and no shirt and i can't get one bianca sensori on the cover of any fair this is

13:46Jason Stewart:bullshit yeah this is bullshit um okay yes we do we do have a guest today her name is emily oberg She's an old friend of ours, and she has never done how long gone, which is a little odd, one of those rare mishaps. But I think much like a nice stew, it took a little time to really get ready to serve.

14:11Emily Oberg:You know what I mean? Oberg had to marinate. I'm sure she's going to double park the 911 or the G-Wagon and come in here. she's going to plop her new speedy down with her and just start spraying. I think she's going to be turned up I bet she had her matcha and her bone broth and she's going to be ready to talk her shit from Beverly Hills

14:30Jason Stewart:It's not an hour or days but more of a minute since her last colonic so she's free and clear mental

14:40Emily Oberg:clarity is peaking Do you think before she does How Long Gone the nad shot goes in the neck just for sort of an extra little boost. It feels like that could push it over the edge.

14:52Jason Stewart:She's got a little bullet in her speedy bag and it's filled with creatine for just a little quick. It's good for the cognition actually when I do my media appearances.

15:02Emily Oberg:It's not just about my body. It's also about my mind. Dude, I totally agree. I need to be firing on all MFing cylinders.

Emily Oberg is here. You're reporting live from your kitchen on your Mac studio with your wired headphones, no Bluetooth, no 5G, right?

18:27Chris Black:No 5G near this brain. Can I ask you a question?

18:31Jason Stewart:5G doesn't come near this brain, bitch.

18:33Emily Oberg:Can I ask you a question? What are you doing with a Mac studio do you just like the way it looks or do you need the computing capabilities i need the

18:39Chris Black:capabilities i'm do i'm working with extremely large files every day pause okay how so how long

18:47Jason Stewart:have you been a cgi graphics video editor for emily yeah i i've seen the pds i know i'm pretty sure my macbook pro can open up the fucking uh the skew chart even if it is a big pdf no

19:00Chris Black:the files are massive so adobe illustrator needs a lot of power to work quickly otherwise it's super slow and i can't use like a normal okay okay just macbook wow okay okay diva so what do

19:13Jason Stewart:you do and also i know you like to game but you do that in the bedroom more okay so you you have

19:19Emily Oberg:it because your files are just too big but when you're on the road you're able to make it work

19:23Chris Black:on a on a laptop but you don't like it no yeah i like sitting at a desk and having like a large screen and a keyboard and a mouse and a mouse pad.

19:32Jason Stewart:Is there going to be a point, like you're already like boss bitch level, is there going to be a point where your assistant has the Pelican case with the iMac and it just travels with you and he sets it up in the hotel? That sounds kind of nice, doesn't it? I like that.

19:45Chris Black:That's my goal. Yeah, like in succession where they like set up the conference room.

19:48Jason Stewart:Set up the Bloomberg terminal in the hospital?

19:51Chris Black:That's my goal.

19:54Emily Oberg:I need the terminal now. Wow. That's a great idea. That's a great idea.

19:59Jason Stewart:If you're dating Emily Oberg and listening right now, start saving up for that Bloomberg terminal.

20:04Emily Oberg:Valentine's Day is around the corner. Literally, literally around the corner. Just two days away. That's all I want. So even when you're in the gym, getting your little pump on, you're using wired headphones? Oh, yeah.

20:15Chris Black:I'm really not even using, I'm not listening to things, really, when I'm in the gym.

20:20Jason Stewart:But you're like doing Pilates where they're playing music for you? No.

20:24Chris Black:I mean, I do classes. I see a trainer, but when I go to the actual gym, which I do, I just like to think.

20:29Emily Oberg:Wow.

20:30Chris Black:I don't like to listen. That's scary. I do not want to be inside Emily Oberg's brain

20:34Emily Oberg:on the fifth set of fucking chest presses. That is a scary place to be.

20:39Jason Stewart:I think that you have reached, that's like the ultimate goal is to go in without Joe Rogan on your headphones while you're doing your deadlift. That is impressive. Just you and your twisted little thoughts. Oh, yeah. I couldn't do it. I couldn't do it.

20:56Emily Oberg:No fucking way.

20:57Jason Stewart:Okay, so while you're in the gym, are you thinking about like, I know that you love to eat. Are you like figuring out what you're going to have for lunch?

21:04Chris Black:No, I'm thinking about work. I'm like working in my head all the time. You need to calm down.

21:09Emily Oberg:You know, like what is the, what are you going to get done in that hour? Maybe let the brain float. You know what I mean? Just let it go a little bit. I think you need to, do you think you need to de-stress? Do you think you're too wound up?

21:20Chris Black:yeah but i definitely have been better at like taking real weekends as normal people do and like trying not to think about work or do anything work related what's your phone usage looking like on the weekend are you able to put it down yeah i can definitely put it down like i try i don't like what about the selfies though i don't like to email my team on the weekend selfies yeah but like no i'm usually honestly i'm pretty good like i'm not really on my phone but it doesn't

21:47Jason Stewart:take eight hours to take a selfie by the pool you know you're you're done you post it 30 seconds in an hour you actually i heard that before you don't um you you actually well i feel like i feel like

21:59Emily Oberg:you you don't strike me as a person that's addicted to their phone actually at all not at all that's not something i've ever thought about in relation to you which is impressive really

22:08Chris Black:that's like a big compliment no i just feel like i just feel like you don't need to i don't know

22:12Emily Oberg:i think some people i don't think you need the i'm like addicted to information i don't think your addiction information. I think it's two different things.

22:19Chris Black:I don't want any information. I just, I want as little information as possible.

22:24Jason Stewart:That's why. That's the gift. We want to see commas when we open up the Wells Fargo checking and that's about, that's the only info we need.

22:33Emily Oberg:Yeah, what's your most used app? And don't say Bank of America.

22:39Chris Black:Most used app? I mean, probably like Instagram or Pinterest. Okay, that's classic.

22:44Jason Stewart:But you're, but I wanted, I wanted to ask you, Speaking of bygone apps, Chris is the only person I know who still is an avid Tumblr user. And I feel like you might still be in the trenches as well.

22:55Chris Black:I have. I heard it's great. I haven't used it. Honestly, Pinterest is amazing. It sounds so basic and kitschy, but it's great.

23:04Jason Stewart:You used to use Tumblr back in the day, though.

23:05Chris Black:Oh, yeah. I was huge on Tumblr.

23:07Emily Oberg:She doesn't mean just her pictures float around. She means she was a power user.

23:11Jason Stewart:Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

23:12Emily Oberg:Not just the inspiration she provided for so many people. Sure. means that she was actually using it.

23:17Jason Stewart:There were some great black and whites back then.

23:19Emily Oberg:A lot of good brain. No, people love Pinterest. I just never used it, but it does seem, it's very similar to Tumblr in the way that it's the easiest way to do it. What would you do if you caught your man looking on Pinterest,

23:31Jason Stewart:Emily? He does.

23:33Chris Black:I tell him to go on Pinterest to get references and do research.

23:38Emily Oberg:That's crazy. That's actually crazy. Fellas, you can't be on Pinterest. That is crazy.

23:43Jason Stewart:What are you doing? Like picking out your tablescape for your wedding, bitch ass. You can't look on Pinterest.

23:49Chris Black:That's what everyone thinks it is. It really has a bad route. No, I know. I know. I'm rebranding Pinterest. That would be a good idea for you. For free.

23:58Jason Stewart:Would you do SpawnCon for Pinterest?

24:01Chris Black:No.

24:02Jason Stewart:No? Would you do like a comprehensive brand deal with Pinterest?

24:08Chris Black:No, I've been offered a lot of SpawnCon things in the last few years. I can't. I don't have the time or energy. Also, sitting down and making a reel or doing any sort of content sounds like literal hell. I can't imagine. You're telling us. Exactly. We have to do this shit.

24:26Jason Stewart:Okay, well, Emily, what if on your level, what if you sit down and make this hellish content, but instead of getting 10 grand, you could buy another house? Sure. We'll give you 3 million. It's going to be a shitty week for you.

24:43Chris Black:you're going to say yes yes it's if it's in the six figures sure yeah i mean it's tough to

24:47Emily Oberg:everybody but i do feel like it is i feel like you don't i think most people in your position do that stuff and i do feel like you have slowed down but it's not necessarily consciously it's just sort of like i don't have time for this so i don't want to do it yeah i mean there's been

25:00Chris Black:things that are like yeah that's cool but it's like i don't want to add more to my plate like

25:04Emily Oberg:that's not my goal sure but even if you had okay well fair enough i thought you were a bag chaser

25:09Jason Stewart:You don't want to add more to your plate, but you're like, let's make vibrators.

25:12Chris Black:Yeah, that one was, don't know why I did that. I mean, it's fun and I love it, but like no time.

25:19Emily Oberg:Okay. Okay. How is that business doing and what has the response been?

25:24Chris Black:The response was amazing. I mean, it was some of the best press and coverage I've ever got in my career. The response has been great. Like so many cool, interesting people like love the brand. And I love the brand. I think it's so cool. like the image the products i'm like such a fan not just because my brand because i think it's cool but i have no time so i can't do it so it's just like sitting there well okay what is the okay

25:47Emily Oberg:it seems harder to manufacture maybe than some things i would guess it's not it's not because it's just like okay it's just like go to china it's electronics yeah they know how to please a woman over in those chinese factories don't they okay they're known they're known for that in the chinese factories they're dealing with difficult white women all the time because you you had the

26:06Jason Stewart:the mouth spray that was flavored but it also like makes it a moist environment.

26:14Chris Black:Yeah, lubricates the mouth.

26:15Jason Stewart:But that's not a thing that Chris, were you aware of that product market? I was not.

26:21Emily Oberg:No, I was not. I mean, I was made aware of it by Emily's

26:25Chris Black:You're not my target audience.

26:27Jason Stewart:Well, I mean, like we know about the standard sex toy, you know, pleasure market lube. Standard. Okay, but But obviously you break all of the rules and the mouth spray was. So is that something that you that like somebody presented to you like, hey, this is also big in the space? Or did you have your mind set on certain flavors and things like that?

26:49Chris Black:No, I have. So one of my good friends, her husband is like the biggest sex toy manufacturer in the US. OK. So that's kind of how this whole brand was conceived. so I went to their headquarters and they had all of the sex toy products that basically are available on the market and they just showed me a bunch of stuff and I was like okay this is what I like let's change this

27:09Emily Oberg:can you remind me of the flavors of the mouth spray again please?

27:13Chris Black:watermelon, peach and pineapple something funny about this?

27:17Emily Oberg:sounds like fucking Rick Ross promoting vodka

27:22Jason Stewart:I'm a foodie I love flavor combos those are the top three flavors that pair well with cum so i think it's a wise choice wise choice to do those three just to start out with at least chris are you frozen exactly damn oh no chris you froze a little bitch no okay oberg you just went to the super bowl san francisco give us a little scene report what'd you do there how'd you like the game did you lose money did you win money 21 savage share the blunt with you or no i don't care

27:53Chris Black:about football like very uninterested um more of a hockey lover no not even we went for my flames we went for this gap dinner like sushi club gap dinner which was fun um yeah okay shout out chris stamp i actually he's such a nice guy i really like him um and also shout out gap gap has been doing very good things lately like i went in the other day and i bought a bunch of stuff they're like they're really coming back gap is back what'd you get gap is back so they have just really nice basic tees like striped tees long sleeves good knits they have some good outerwear really good like loungewear i'm not paid by gap by the way or sponsored um no i just like a gap is such a iconic strong brand i think they just kind of need to figure out like how to become relevant again in this space which i think is really tough

28:48Jason Stewart:hey i mean the cat's eye commercial last year that really did it yeah that was great for them That was a big one. That was huge. But it's good because, you know, Muji and H &M, they've been sort of shitting on the gap for a while. It's nice to see the American gap back in the game, right?

29:05Emily Oberg:I just can't buy clothes. When I go to Muji, I can't think about the clothes, even though they're pretty good. They're better than they should be. They're better than they should be, though. Really, it is.

29:16Jason Stewart:So you're thinking about, I need a new pencil sharpener. I need a little new...

29:20Emily Oberg:Mooji Loki has the best travel shoe covers.

29:24Chris Black:That makes sense.

29:26Emily Oberg:You know, like if you're, because I mean, unlike Emily, not all of my shoes come with dust bags. So I have to kind of get my own. Step your money up, bitch. For my Nikes or, you know, my whatever, my workout sneakers. Right. And they make them big enough for you. Yeah, they do. But I swear by them. They're the best because I don't want my raw shoes rolling around in the luggage.

29:45Chris Black:I just put my shoes in my Hermes, like, cloth bags.

29:51Emily Oberg:that's exactly what I just said so thank you for confirming that I'm saying to you that I have also

29:56Jason Stewart:well that's cool so you do Muji there's a brand called Hermes and I use theirs so they're better than the Hermes ones is that what you're saying?

30:04Emily Oberg:what I'm saying to you Emily is that these are nylon in a more sport mode situation versus my Manolo Blahnik or Hermes bags that are more of a cloth

30:13Jason Stewart:you guys I like how since both of you guys work in textiles it's cool to see where your favorite you know it's like music genres or cuisines like Chris is more into like the tech workout and then you're a little bit more of like a little cashmere fleecy cool down cotton kind of thing

30:32Emily Oberg:well they're trying to really bring back the working out in cotton thing which I do but I still need an athletic short would you agree like I'll wear a regular t-shirt on top because I don't love a dry fit t-shirt but cotton short when you're all sweating in

30:46Jason Stewart:Pilates those shorts are going to weigh 12

30:48Emily Oberg:pounds you know it's gonna be all droopy a lot of people are into that but what do you what's your take emily on women rejecting tights are you a tight truther i mean i i obviously make leggings

30:58Chris Black:i like leggings but i i understand like the health aspects and concerns of oh yeah people are saying

31:06Jason Stewart:could you explain what though because there's like some microplastics being yeah squeezed into your inner thigh and pussy area over and over again and it's not good for you yeah i mean

31:17Chris Black:Sweating in plastic is not great.

31:20Emily Oberg:Sweating in plastic is not great. I agree. But don't you think at a certain point, I know I'm going to die.

31:26Chris Black:Exactly. You have to pick and choose your battles with this health stuff. Otherwise, you will lose your mind.

31:30Emily Oberg:Because I feel like you lost the battle for a little while. I feel like you were going down a dark road. And you pulled yourself back. Dark road. Because you were taking it pretty far.

31:39Chris Black:I mean, look. I think compared to most people.

31:41Jason Stewart:Were you getting your Brian Johnson on?

31:43Chris Black:No.

31:44Jason Stewart:You didn't go that far.

31:45Chris Black:I'm not going that far. But look, I'm still on the peptides. I take supplements, hyperbaric chamber. We do the red light. We do the vibration plate.

31:53Emily Oberg:Okay, you're still down the deep. I apologize. I thought you got better.

31:56Chris Black:No, but that's light. That's light? Yeah, that's light.

31:59Emily Oberg:How much does the vibration plate in your house cost, though? That's the real question. I'm not familiar with vibration plate costs.

32:05Chris Black:They're$120 on Amazon. It's not a bougie thing.

32:08Emily Oberg:What about the red light mask, though?

32:10Chris Black:The red light, I have the panel from this brand called Juve. That's pretty strong. I don't know how much that was. but I also got this one from this brand called Chroma and that's like a thousand dollars it's this big but it's like the highest grade medical red light and you only use it for 30 seconds because it's that strong you can't use it for 30 seconds but you can actually feel like it's super warm so you use it on your face on your like head scalp so you're using it like like

32:37Jason Stewart:some deodorant just a little under the hair exactly you just go like this it's like a few

32:41Chris Black:it's amazing

32:43Jason Stewart:and who makes Chroma you said

32:45Chris Black:makes that one Chroma Chroma

32:47Jason Stewart:okay well let's talk about one thing that you didn't mention in the wellness world that you used to be a part of the colonic movement pun intended with the movement I guess

32:56Chris Black:so that this is a controversial topic again not a licensed physician so take this advice with a grain of salt okay a grain of Himalayan salt Himalayan you were

33:07Emily Oberg:on the front lines of this shit though let's be very clear you were on the front lines of this shit not with a pinch of Himalayan salt. Do not.

33:14Chris Black:I was. Okay, look. I've struggled with gut issues. I've had my own health journey, so I've done what works for me.

33:23Emily Oberg:Emily, we know. We've met women before. You guys all have gut issues. We've heard about this.

33:27Chris Black:Yeah, why do you think? Because this world is so fucking stressful and because men are the workers. Oh, okay.

33:32Emily Oberg:It's our fault. I'll take the L.

33:34Jason Stewart:I thought you were going to try to blame being half Jewish for a couple years on your IBS issues.

33:39Chris Black:I'm not.

33:43Chris Black:not half Jewish I know you're saying that you

33:48Emily Oberg:a colonic was a first that's a reasonable step if you have actual

33:53Chris Black:issues yeah I mean if you're backed up you can't go to the bathroom that's a very good entry point into getting things moving do not say entry point do not say entry point

34:04Emily Oberg:this is too much you two idiots together is too much for me I'm going to have to go home

34:10Jason Stewart:Okay, so Chris, you're familiar with the colonics. I'm assuming you haven't received one. I used to do the coffee enemas, which is obviously not the same.

34:21Chris Black:That's fine.

34:22Jason Stewart:How often is a normal amount of colonics, let's say, per year?

34:27Chris Black:It depends. I mean, look, I had a really bad case of food poisoning last year.

34:33Emily Oberg:Name the restaurant.

34:34Chris Black:I can't because I still really like that restaurant.

34:36Emily Oberg:I'll bleep it. Yeah, we'll bleep it really, really well.

34:39Jason Stewart:actually yeah yeah we bleep yeah of course yeah we wouldn't do that we bleep all the time okay likely place likely place for that to happen this episode of how long gone is brought to you

38:05Chris Black:Okay, so that's what I, it was from Lettuce and it's not the restaurant's fault. Sometimes there's a bacteria and you don't wash it all off. Like it's not, I don't blame them.

38:13Jason Stewart:In this case, it is that restaurant's fault.

38:15Chris Black:Okay, it is their fault, but I love their food. They have one of the best steaks in LA, I think. They have really good...

38:22Emily Oberg:I like the sweet potato.

38:24Chris Black:The sweet potatoes are great.

38:25Emily Oberg:Sweet potato is special, but I don't think that... I kind of agree with you, though. I feel like it is a one-time... I don't know. I don't feel like you can... Of course, you can blame the restaurant, but I do think in a lettuce situation, it's tough to...

38:39Chris Black:Yeah. I didn't say anything. I didn't tell them. I didn't... But it was bad um but that definitely messed up my stomach and i had a lot of parasites from that um so i had to do like a good parasite cleanse and in the colonic i saw a lot of them come out

38:56Emily Oberg:so it worked how big are these parasites you're looking at the monitor and these parasites are

39:01Chris Black:just coming okay so the the place that i would go he sets you up you see everything coming out but he puts a video camera on the tube and the tv screen in front of your face magnified it looks

39:12Jason Stewart:like the luge on the Winter Olympics.

39:15Chris Black:Yes. You see it in real time. Blown up. I mean, I love it.

39:20Emily Oberg:I live for this. How much does it cost?

39:22Chris Black:They're$100 each. Yeah, I know it's

39:24Emily Oberg:pretty affordable, but I just can't... I don't know. There's something... I don't... I almost did it at Lanzerhof because it was an offer on my menu.

39:33Chris Black:I hated Lanzerhof. That's shithole.

39:37Jason Stewart:That's shithole. I loved it. I thought it was... I mean, I like the actual building. This is maybe the nicest place I've ever been in my life. It was one of the nicer hotels I've ever stayed at.

39:45Emily Oberg:Which one did you go to then?

39:46Chris Black:Land of Lens, I think.

39:48Emily Oberg:Yeah, I went to the new one.

39:50Chris Black:In Copenhagen? No, it's in Silt. Oh, yeah. In Iceland. Okay, fine. But look, a lot of those health retreats are just like you go for a week, they starve you. You think that you're losing weight or you're getting healthy and you go back to real life or the real world.

40:04Emily Oberg:Oh, I think everybody kind of knows that's the deal. I think everybody knows it's like a quote unquote reset.

40:10Chris Black:Well, what's the point?

40:10Jason Stewart:Their hope, well, it's because they need somebody to hold them down and physically make them stop ordering Goop Kitchen pepperoni pizzas every night and thinking that it's all good.

40:20Chris Black:If you need that help.

40:21Emily Oberg:I will say that my takeaway was the mental struggle of it was more of a personal challenge. And I was proud of myself for getting through it because I really obeyed it to a T. And a lot of people cheat.

40:33Chris Black:Try Hoffman. No, yeah, I know.

40:35Emily Oberg:But that's for women to get their life in order.

40:37Chris Black:No, I know. I've done both.

40:39Jason Stewart:Wait, so there's a Lanzerhoff and a Hoffman?

40:43Chris Black:Hoffman. You know what Hoffman is.

40:44Jason Stewart:I don't know Hoffman. Wow.

40:46Chris Black:I'm shocked.

40:47Jason Stewart:Well, tell me about it, guys.

40:49Chris Black:You can't go to a party in LA and not know what Hoffman is. Like, everyone is bragging.

40:53Emily Oberg:I've never heard of a man going. Is it actually women only? No, there's plenty of guys. I've never heard of a man going in my life. I think like Brad Pitt went.

41:00Chris Black:Like, all these celebrities go.

41:01Emily Oberg:Well, I'm sure. I'm sure. But how much is it?

41:04Chris Black:It's not crazy. I think maybe for a week, it's like$3 ,000. But that's for food. That's for like...

41:09Jason Stewart:like 3 000 i mean lanserhoff's a lot more than that that's a lot more than that so is it is it

41:14Chris Black:like tracy anderson but for the mind no it's like a week no phone no technology detoxing with all that stuff and it's hours and hours of group therapy every day all day nightmare okay well

41:26Jason Stewart:so back to the original question normal amount of colonics per year that a person might do so i did

41:32Chris Black:i did after my food poisoning to kind of clear everything out i knew i had parasites just from like all these different symptoms i saw them come out so like i know people say parasites are not a real thing there are parasites in our food like you can even see them can you tell me what can

41:46Emily Oberg:you tell me what a parasite looks like just on like the mucus commercial scale you know what i mean like are they looking like in the colonics it looks like a bug kind of it looks like a long

41:54Chris Black:little like silver fish it looks like a worm like a lot kind of yellowish like flat like long let's

42:01Jason Stewart:not get into the color how big is it like you're able to see it with the naked eye the pain so

42:07Chris Black:What happens in colonics is they kind of break apart. You'll see little bits. The biggest one I've seen was probably eight, nine inches.

42:19Jason Stewart:I'm glad we got clean audio of that.

42:21Chris Black:It's pretty crazy. Wow.

42:23Jason Stewart:They pulled a nine-incher out of you?

42:25Emily Oberg:That's fucking crazy.

42:27Chris Black:Multiple. Multiple.

42:28Emily Oberg:I didn't know that was possible. You went rounds with a nine-incher? Yep.

42:35Chris Black:Gang. All joking aside, I did not know that was possible.

42:39Emily Oberg:That blows my fucking mind. I did not know they were that big.

42:41Jason Stewart:I know. And the colonic cyst didn't drop a couple of those nine-inches down his sleeve trying to show you what's coming out of you. It wasn't a trick.

42:50Emily Oberg:Like when a cop puts coke on the ground and says, that's yours. What's that? What do you know? Bouncing drugs on you, Chris.

42:57Chris Black:Not possible. Not possible. Not possible.

42:59Emily Oberg:That's actually really – okay. But you think that these – but you don't do them anymore because you just got out of a habit or you think that it fixed your problem to an extent no i yeah i just felt like i was good

43:08Chris Black:i started like my gut i feel was healed i'm in a good place now and i don't feel the need to go

43:14Jason Stewart:anymore great beautiful that's the way it should be that's true wellness exactly okay what what about like the iv drips though it's something that i want to do more of i mean you only really

43:24Chris Black:need an iv when you're depleted or you feel like you're about to get sick or you were sick like i'll do it before a flight like an international long flight i'll do it after a flight like if i feel like I'm about to get sick, I'll do it. And usually I don't end up getting sick. It works. It works.

43:38Emily Oberg:I love the drip works. They're like$100 more than they should be.

43:42Chris Black:So you have to be careful where you go to because some of them dilute them. You're not really getting as much as you think. And yeah, they can be overpriced.

43:49Jason Stewart:Yeah, Carolyn, I think Carolyn needs to do one. I'm going to tell her to hit you up.

43:53Chris Black:I mean, my integrative doctor is the best, by the way, in LA. I love her.

43:57Emily Oberg:Integrative doctor. I don't know if we need that for the drip. You want to give her a shout out?

44:00Chris Black:Shout out, Dr. Erica Lehman. she's amazing um i do everything with her does she come to the house though or do you go to her so with an iv like they can come to you i like to go there i see her in her office it's in beverly hills because she has all the supplements like all the peptides i like going there but she's really the best and she's helped me so much with all my health stuff okay what peptides are we on right now oberg bpc 157 ghk thymus and alpha thymus and beta vitamin b shot i'll take um nad and I'm going to start to take epimoralin.

44:35Emily Oberg:How many shots is this per day?

44:38Chris Black:You put it all in the same syringe. I didn't know about that.

44:42Emily Oberg:I didn't know you could mix like that. Back in my day, you had to keep that shit separate. How long gone exclusive? We call that a speedball, Emily. When you do a heroin.

44:51Jason Stewart:There's a Long Island iced tea in my shit.

44:55Emily Oberg:Mixology ass syringe. When you smoke heroin and coke together. You said I got that.

45:00Jason Stewart:I just assumed that if I pulled some of my NAD and mixed it with my whatever, they would light on fire or something. Okay.

45:09Chris Black:You're good.

45:10Jason Stewart:You're good. Damn, that's a good idea. So you're just a little one from you. It's like when you're at Starbucks and they're pumping. How many pumps you want of this one? Exactly. Okay. And then where in the body is it going? Stomach? Ass?

45:23Chris Black:I like to do thigh because it's the least painful, I think. Okay. but anywhere that's fatty

45:29Emily Oberg:I wouldn't know that's why I can't find anywhere so that's kind of the problem for me

45:35Chris Black:fat who is she?

45:36Emily Oberg:I have to go between my toes because it's good

45:38Chris Black:oh my god that's dark that's dark

45:44Jason Stewart:okay so we're happy with where we're at right now physically and mentally it seems like you're in a good mental zen place all the boxes are checked

45:56Chris Black:no it's been a It's been the most stressful, hectic period of my life probably because of the transition, my restructuring of the company, becoming the CEO.

46:06Emily Oberg:Yeah. Do you really want to do that?

46:08Chris Black:No.

46:10Emily Oberg:I didn't think so. That's what I was saying. So you're saying you bought out the partner.

46:14Chris Black:I didn't buy out anyone. I always owned 100 % of the company.

46:18Emily Oberg:Thank you for clearing that up. I know all our Hypebeast comment section listeners will be happy to know that. Yes.

46:22Jason Stewart:And you took no investment. You took no outside investment from anyone, of course.

46:26Emily Oberg:No. Why do you think you make people so damn mad?

46:30Chris Black:I mean, look.

46:32Emily Oberg:Because usually, look. I love stirring the pot. I know you love stirring the pot, but usually I feel like women love when a woman. That's why we have you on the pot, Oberg.

46:41Jason Stewart:You're a stirrer and we fuck with a stirrer.

46:43Emily Oberg:I feel like usually when women get it out the mud and start their own business and it's successful, usually people sort of can't. You can't really say much about that. That's a pretty positive thing that you can't. I guess. I don't know what you could say negatively about that, but somehow you find a way to get people angry. And I don't. Is it because you're stunting? It's a beautiful immigrant story. Is it because you're stunting? Or do you think it's something else?

47:05Chris Black:Look, I do stunt a little. But if you compare me to some of these other designers who are like on PJs, like showing their insane watch collections, like they have crazy.

47:15Emily Oberg:Hey, I don't follow Cult of Gaia on Instagram. So I don't know what you're talking about.

47:20Chris Black:No, there are some. I don't stunt crazy. Okay.

47:23Jason Stewart:You don't sound crazy. Let me put it like that. But I mean, I guess if people are going to be like, you know, I saved up money washing cars and now I'm going to fashion school and I'm going to learn this and blah, blah, blah. And then they see you going hee hee out of the G wagon and they're going to be like, son of a bitch.

47:40Chris Black:That was me. I was working retail and saving up counting my pennies.

47:44Jason Stewart:I know that Chris knows that many people know that, but people like they're blind to that information because that means that they're failing because they're not good enough at XYZ versus...

47:59Emily Oberg:You know what the problem is? The problem is if you were ugly, it'd be fine. Dead ass. Honestly, that's real talk. Okay, Oberg, this is what you have to do. You can't have all of it. You can't have all of it. People don't like that.

48:12Jason Stewart:I know that you're probably going to not like this idea for the next phase of Sporty and Rich, but what if you get a little fat?

48:22Jason Stewart:Just bring you back down to planet Earth.

48:24Emily Oberg:Let's humble ourselves. You know, let's humble ourselves a little bit.

48:26Jason Stewart:You know how Chris likes Hayley Bieber? And she, I just saw a photo of her today. She looked like she had a little, you know, a little good, a healthy eight pounds on her rig. She's definitely not fat.

48:41Chris Black:I would say she's skinny.

48:42Jason Stewart:She is not fat at all. But I'm saying, you know, we've all had our body journeys.

48:46Emily Oberg:Watch yourself, Jason.

48:47Jason Stewart:She's obviously had a child as well. but you know I was all I'm saying is you can a beautiful woman like that can gain 10 pounds and she still looks just as a beautiful and attractive and I'm saying what if you you know put a little 18 on that look if it's gonna

49:03Chris Black:help the business sure I'm like

49:07Emily Oberg:if I could sell more if I could sell more sports bras I don't give a fuck I'll do whatever it takes but also that's why you're good at your job

49:13Jason Stewart:but also you you kind of eat a lot I do thank you So it's not like, like I've been out to dinner with you a hundred times. It's not like you're starving yourself. You're eating as much as I am and I'm twice your size. So if you even, I guess I'm saying even if you wanted to gain weight, would you be able to do that physically?

49:34Chris Black:Look, I think people have this like misconception that I don't eat, that I'm like have an eating disorder. Like I've seen all of these things, but I have, I mean, in all seriousness, I have, it's fine. I have a thyroid disorder, which is hyper, which means your metabolism is always through the roof. I mean, I wish I didn't have this. I have to take medication for it every day.

49:54Emily Oberg:Can I catch that from you? Can I catch that? Can you shake hands and I get that disease?

49:58Chris Black:No, you don't want it. It's not good. No one wants it. Trust me.

50:02Emily Oberg:Why? What are the downsides?

50:04Chris Black:I mean, you have heart palpitations. You're always cold. And then at night, you have crazy sweats. You know what, Emily?

50:12Emily Oberg:I think I could power through. I think no it's not great it's not great I do like the fact that you were able to make I think it is a powerful thing to make people that mad by just sort of doing your job and it being and being successful I do think that's sort of no but I also think look I know the brand name pisses

50:28Chris Black:people off I don't give a fuck who doesn't want to be who among us doesn't want to be sporting rich do not tell me you don't want to be I would I would never those are two things I really want

50:38Emily Oberg:to be I can't wear it on my chest I'm a 43 year old man it ain't for me so that's fine exactly

50:43Chris Black:that's fine but i'm just look it's like it's cheeky it's not people take it so literally

50:49Emily Oberg:if i was a 17 year old korean girl oh i'd be all exactly it's just like it's fun

50:54Jason Stewart:are there any i i kind of i was thinking yesterday when i was listening to you on a podcast like doing my oberg research seeing if there's anything i didn't know i was like you know what i wouldn't mind a couple pieces from the collection do you think i could do a pull of a couple items obviously

51:09Emily Oberg:okay good go for it jason what the fuck are you gonna wear please please tell me a sweatshirt

51:16Jason Stewart:short what you think you can wear i had a meeting yesterday with a friend um and we were talking about uh ralph laurent he was wearing this yellow polo hat that he said he had since high school and had a beautiful patina to it and i told him i was just looking um on ebay at like double rl hats and I found this one that was like a yellow Pharrell trucker hat style. Basically, I was telling him, I'm going to buy a double RL trucker hat of some kind and I want to get the worst, ugliest one that will not pair with anything because I like the challenge. And I'm not saying that your clothing is ugly.

51:54Jason Stewart:It's cool, but it's unlikely for a guy like me to maybe wear some of the collection. and I like the idea of making it my own style and having somebody be like, damn, you're making the sporty and rich work.

52:08Chris Black:You do do that. I feel like that's your thing.

52:10Emily Oberg:Don't gas him up. Stop.

52:12Jason Stewart:Well, it wasn't necessarily complimentary. She's like, you do have that problem a little bit. You do that. I didn't say good. I didn't say good. I say you do that. Just, you know. You do that. I like, but you guys are all like uniform, classic dressers, Levi's 501s, you know. know ralph lauren it's all it's all classic it's uniform and beautiful and class but like you guys do a little splash out sometimes right oh yeah i could see you yeah i could see you maybe

52:39Emily Oberg:in some of this yankees collaborative product you know what i mean real like stolen valor you know

52:44Chris Black:no i see it like in the vintage kind of sport vibe yeah like what is the okay i see that when

52:50Emily Oberg:i see a man wearing sporty and rich what happened which happens more often than you would think maybe what is the percentage of their chick bought it for them and your in your estimation honestly

53:00Chris Black:a lot of guys like it on their own I don't think it's from their girlfriend maybe like 20 that's

53:06Emily Oberg:not no that's not negative that that's not negative because I think a lot of like I know for a fact that at J.Crew and a lot of businesses like that a huge portion of the men's sales is coming from women right whether they're buying it for their boyfriend or husband or their brother their whatever it's like that's a there's so many guys that don't care about clothes at all and somehow it finds their way to them. But I guess maybe with what you're doing, it's a little more niche.

53:27Chris Black:It is a bit more niche.

53:28Emily Oberg:All right, well, next time I see a guy who's Sporty and Rich had, I'll ask him if he's gay.

53:31Chris Black:No. No.

53:35Jason Stewart:Yeah, I'm seeing a lot of Sporty and Rich bootleg when I go to my Armenian Pilates classes in Glendale.

53:42Emily Oberg:How bad are the fakes, Emily?

53:44Chris Black:I mean, Lululemon's doing them.

53:47Emily Oberg:No, I'm not talking about you claiming everybody ripped you off. I meant like real fakes. I'm talking about like China I don't know honestly I'm not privy

53:57Chris Black:to it I haven't really seen like maybe in Asia there is but here I don't know

54:02Emily Oberg:it takes a lot for it to make it over here

54:05Chris Black:I mean I'd sue them but whatever

54:06Jason Stewart:could you break down your customer demographic by race

54:10Chris Black:by race I have no idea

54:13Jason Stewart:we'll call it country

54:17Chris Black:US Korea UK

54:20Emily Oberg:got it okay okay when are we all right so you're but you're opening a new store in la correct

54:25Chris Black:like any day now when does it open so it's opening march 6th we finally very soon all right where is it what neighborhood west hollywood beside pacific design center oh it's in that space i know exactly where it is it there was across from solomon yeah but there was that fake store there for a while

54:39Emily Oberg:yes that german brand so you're gonna be right there earth cafe yeah when that store opened i was like i give this place six months there ain't no way this is this is a this is some money laundering shit there ain't no way this is staying here so it was it was the brand of the owners of high mat yes yes yes yes yes i knew this do you remember that crazy story family like one of them

54:59Chris Black:they all died in a plane yeah they all died in in a helicopter yeah plane or helicopter and then so i guess the brand just closed after that that was a story i always heard about high mat that it was

55:09Emily Oberg:there was this confusion going on because the owner and the person who was legally supposed to take it over if he died died at the same time no so there was like all this like they didn't know what to do they were like we don't know who should take over this thing because like legally it's like a mess because everybody's dead it's so it's so crazy that's dark shut it down okay so you took over but but it's kind of big it's massive it's 5200 square feet so the it's

55:32Chris Black:gonna be the bottom level is retail and cafe top level is my office which i don't have an office here so it's like our first u.s headquarters and then we're also gonna have like a fitness studio

55:43Emily Oberg:upstairs okay so i can there's finally somewhere i can go and i'll have to wear aloe with a gun in my head. This sounds great.

55:48Chris Black:Bro, I can't. So fucking corny.

55:52Jason Stewart:Are you going to have a mega reformer upstairs?

55:56Chris Black:No, it's going to be no reformers. I'm going to have a few really good trainers who are going to teach some classes, but it's going to be very curated, very small.

56:08Emily Oberg:No, we need full weight room. We need at least a squat rack. At least a squat rack.

56:13Chris Black:I have a bar that you could use for hip thrust.

56:17Emily Oberg:I don't, men don't hip, that's another thing.

56:19Jason Stewart:Men, we do it, but we got to keep it quiet. I was hip thrusting in Hawaii a couple weeks ago, and I loved it. I loved it. You got to hip thrust.

56:28Emily Oberg:I love hip thrusting, but I can't make it, when guys do, I only use the machine because when guys do with the bar and you have to put that little pad between your bussy and the bar, men can't do that. That's embarrassing. No, you can't. That's embarrassing. The bussy buffer bar. You have to use the machine, and the machine still really hurts, but you just have to power through. you cannot use the pad.

56:47Chris Black:Yeah, you can't. You really can't.

56:48Emily Oberg:I don't make the rules. I just can't. I personally can't. Fellas, it's a gate of thrust. I mean, for real. All right, so you're going to have... Wow, this is Oberg World Headquarters here then. This is Oberg Ground Zero.

56:59Jason Stewart:When you're upstairs in your office, is there going to be like a double-sided mirror so you could look down at your customer base and they can't see you? Or do you want them to see you up there? I like that.

57:10Chris Black:No, they can't see me. I'll just have to go down and see what's going on.

57:13Jason Stewart:The parking situation is pretty good too, right? Come down, sign a couple. Sign a couple 8x10s.

57:18Chris Black:No, there's street parking, but I think we'll have valet on the weekends because I feel like in LA you kind of need to have that. I mean, I don't like to go anywhere unless it's valet.

57:25Emily Oberg:I swear to God, if you make me pay$20 to valet to buy a pair of fucking leggings, that's awesome. No, no, no. No, that is LA shit. Chris, free valet for orders of$50 or more? Free valet. Just like DoorDash. No fees. I've only got$20, so I'm out$20 regardless. I haven't got change. I'm out$20 no matter what.

57:42Chris Black:Then you're not our demo.

57:46Emily Oberg:Your demo is trying to Venmo a kid.

57:48Jason Stewart:At the checkout kiosk, just have a stack of fives in case somebody needs one to tip the valet. That'd be a nice touch.

57:54Chris Black:Honestly, that is very chic. A crisp$2 bill?

57:57Emily Oberg:That's a good idea. That's a good idea. I always see them setting up the Jacques-Marie Maje valet in West Hollywood. I'm always like, how many people use this? And I bet it's way more than I think.

58:08Chris Black:Probably.

58:09Emily Oberg:Yeah, they wouldn't keep doing it if it wasn't worth it.

58:11Chris Black:Who the hell wants to park? That sounds crazy. I'll drive around.

58:15Emily Oberg:During the day, I love overpaying for valet, but only at night. Something about during the day feels too much.

58:21Chris Black:Yeah, during the day, it's like walk your lazy ass to the store.

58:24Emily Oberg:Walk your lazy ass to Jones. All right, so you're right. So World Headquarters is under construction. Yeah. All right, and is it moving in a timely fashion, or are you having to crack the world?

58:32Chris Black:No, it was supposed to be open in August. We're insanely delayed. August? Yeah.

58:36Emily Oberg:All right, so you're going to get a lot of runoff from community goods, too, and vice versa. There's some brand synergy there, I feel like.

58:42Chris Black:There's some synergy, but we're going to have our own cafe, which is like more a health-focused cafe.

58:46Emily Oberg:Uh-oh. Oh, so, oh, shit. All right. It's you versus Pedro in the streets of West Hollywood. I didn't realize that. You said we ain't got no breakfast sandwich, bitch. We got cheesy.

58:55Jason Stewart:Can you give us some menu exclusives?

58:59Chris Black:Yep. So, I love Jamba Juice.

59:03Jason Stewart:Oh, yeah.

59:04Emily Oberg:I forgot.

59:05Chris Black:I recently just discovered it like a year ago.

59:07Emily Oberg:This is cool for you.

59:09Jason Stewart:I'm really happy to hear this. Because it combines your two loves, candy and smoothies.

59:14Chris Black:Exactly. It is so delicious. It's my favorite thing ever. My boyfriend introduced me to it, actually.

59:19Emily Oberg:That's because he grew up going to the mall. He knows what fucking time it is. Jamba Juice.

59:23Chris Black:Yeah, I know.

59:24Emily Oberg:Most people's first smoothie. Yeah, but Chris, what's the smoothie place in Canada called? In Canada? I'm a smoothie king. I'm a smoothie king guy. Oh. In Canada, there's...

59:32Chris Black:It's Jugo Juice, but it's kind of trash.

59:35Jason Stewart:No, the one... It's like a cafe, like a sweet greening kind of place.

59:39Emily Oberg:Alex goes to a place called Nut Bar, which is one of the best names of all time.

59:43Jason Stewart:It's like a one word. It's not mixed, but it's something like that. I don't know. We go there in the mall.

59:49Emily Oberg:No, you're talking. Yeah, it's where I get my wrap. It's called your wrap place.

59:54Jason Stewart:What is it called?

59:55Emily Oberg:But it's like a Canadian only. A wrap? People hate it. Yeah, it's like, don't scoff at me.

1:00:01Chris Black:A wrap is like such a weird food.

1:00:05Emily Oberg:It's like just have a sandwich or a salad. What is a wrap? I like a wrap. I like a wrap because of the form factor. It's less spillage. No fork required. No, I kind of agree with that. It doesn't shoot out the sides. It doesn't shoot out the sides. If a sandwich is properly stacked, like my Linwich, my favorite, it'll still shoot out the sides a little bit when you take a bite.

1:00:24Chris Black:Yeah, I guess so.

1:00:25Emily Oberg:You know what I mean? All right, I'm sorry. What's on the menu?

1:00:27Chris Black:So I like how Jugo Juice – oh, sorry. Wait, what is it called?

1:00:31Emily Oberg:Jamba Juice. Jamba Juice. Jugo Juice is cool. I like it.

1:00:36Chris Black:Jugo Juice is Canadian.

1:00:37Emily Oberg:jamba juice has like a secret menu i didn't know this and i think that's sick like you go and

1:00:43Chris Black:you're like i want the strawberry starburst and just like ordering something that's off the menu first of all everyone loves that it's an exclusivity factor but i want to have a secret menu but i kind of want to recreate some of like the greatest hits from jamba and make them in like a healthy way um so i'm wearing on that we're gonna have soft serve um the same one that everyone

1:01:02Emily Oberg:has the coconut based one we're gonna have bubble tea but i'm gonna make it healthy that's always been my dream let me ask you a question let me ask you a question like bubble tea can it be healthy

1:01:13Chris Black:and still taste good or is that the challenge so listen tapioca is not i mean it's just tapioca like the pearls are not extremely unhealthy um so that's pretty much just the sugar is the only problem it's just the sugar so it's like it's the base of the drinks are always loaded with sugar they obviously have like regular milk which is fine for some but the artificial flavor so i'm going to do like you know real fruit smoothie based probably honey um i'm excited about that and then we're going to have some food items as well more like grab and go stuff okay because

1:01:42Jason Stewart:you know i love to cook yeah i can't wait to buy an 11 apple for 400 oh we're gonna have the 20

1:01:48Emily Oberg:strawberries there too yeah no shit no shit the oyster yeah obviously i'm somehow not surprised no i think that yeah i know that the the food element of this stuff is is important to you and make sense for the brand, but it does feel like a big pain in the ass.

1:02:02Chris Black:Big pain in the ass, but it's not my problem to deal with. I hire a chef and cafe manager.

1:02:07Emily Oberg:Hey, you're the CEO. It's all your fucking problem now.

1:02:09Chris Black:Yeah, true.

1:02:10Jason Stewart:But it's smart. It turns your retail destination into a third space. Do you drink coffee?

1:02:17Chris Black:No, never. I don't do caffeine. Never have, never will.

1:02:20Jason Stewart:Is Rocky's matcha going to be available there, Ober?

1:02:22Chris Black:I don't think we're going to have his matcha. We have a matcha from this girl, Nami, in New York. I think we're going to have hers here, too.

1:02:29Jason Stewart:Okay. How do you like, now that we've shifted over into America, you're grabbing the reins of the horse again. How has Ben having to hire a whole new staff been for you? How do you like the hiring process?

1:02:44Chris Black:I don't like it. I don't know what questions to ask them. I don't know how to interview people. I don't know what to say. It's horrible. I'm not good at it.

1:02:52Emily Oberg:All right. Well, look, you can practice. I'll come in for it. Post a job. I'll come in.

1:02:56Jason Stewart:What positions are you currently hiring for?

1:02:59Chris Black:So over the last four months, I've done nothing but build my new team. I pretty much have hired every single person.

1:03:06Jason Stewart:Okay. Yeah, it's done. So we're all sorted out, ready to go?

1:03:10Chris Black:We're all sorted, yeah. I have a great team.

1:03:12Emily Oberg:Oh, too bad. I was hoping for a, you know, not entry level, but kind of a part-time position. Something in the mail room.

1:03:19Jason Stewart:Just get in early.

1:03:20Chris Black:I'm trying not to hire any guys. What if I was? I think it would be great if I was your assistant.

1:03:26Jason Stewart:Damn, we don't support SHEI over here. Yeah, she is fucked up.

1:03:30Emily Oberg:Hell no. Emily, I could be your assistant. Look, if you let me drive your car, I could be a great assistant.

1:03:38Chris Black:Maybe an assistant position, but positions of leadership, I would prefer no men to be in those roles.

1:03:42Emily Oberg:I think you need to have a straight male assistant. I think that's the most powerful move you could have.

1:03:46Chris Black:No, that's weird.

1:03:47Emily Oberg:No, that's cool. That's powerful. That's you saying, you're a loser. I'm the boss. Go get my fucking buffalo cauliflower. Yeah, maybe. And he says,

1:03:56Jason Stewart:When I'm done at Erewhon, can I clean your toilet? And then you're like, that's fine.

1:04:01Emily Oberg:Yeah. I think it could be cool.

1:04:02Chris Black:Okay, maybe. She's back. Yeah, I'll flip the script.

1:04:05Emily Oberg:Yeah, I'll flip it. If you could find a straight male assistant that's older than you, that is the number one flex.

1:04:11Chris Black:I don't think it'll be hard.

1:04:12Emily Oberg:Yeah, this is going to be a...

1:04:13Jason Stewart:I want there to be a devil wears sporty situation.

1:04:16Chris Black:Honestly, yeah.

1:04:19Jason Stewart:She's like, that already exists, sweetheart. Just knock on my door. Welcome to my fucking life. Okay, so even though we're zenned out and things are going well, we're hired, we're moving on course, you have to experience some sort of burnout at some point where you hit a wall. And I know that you don't really have too many vices, no drugs, no alcohol, no caffeine. So what's your burnout splurge? I guess shopping. I know you're dropping a bag, but on what? What scratches that itch the best?

1:04:50Chris Black:A Birkin.

1:04:52Jason Stewart:We'll do it. Hit it with a Birkin and we're okay.

1:04:54Emily Oberg:Now, question, do you have a dealer or are you going into Hermes and playing the game?

1:04:59Chris Black:No, I don't like new Hermes bags. They're kind of, I don't know. They just look different. I like the way the old ones look. So I go like vintage. Like I've gotten Birkins off vestiaire.

1:05:12Emily Oberg:What's the Birkin count looking like right now?

1:05:15Chris Black:Okay, so I got two Birkins stolen when I was robbed. RIP. I also had a Kelly stolen.

1:05:20Emily Oberg:What else do they get in the robbery?

1:05:23Jason Stewart:You might be setting up robbery number two with your next call.

1:05:26Chris Black:All my Chanel jackets. I had like five. They still Chanel jackets? Yeah, they had good taste. I was like, God damn. Different Chanel heels. This Celine suede jacket that I love.

1:05:40Emily Oberg:All the old Phoebe is gone. Was it mostly clothing and bags?

1:05:44Chris Black:It was only clothing and bags. No, all of my Julian watches were with me. Thank God.

1:05:49Emily Oberg:Thank God. Okay, so you had all the bust downs with you.

1:05:52Chris Black:But do you think, did we do an investigation? So I was robbed twice. They found the first person.

1:05:58Emily Oberg:Do you think these are people that know who you are?

1:06:00Chris Black:Yeah, they did. They were definitely tracking and following me on social media, seeing when I was out of town, all of that.

1:06:05Emily Oberg:Oh, Jesus Christ.

1:06:07Chris Black:No, but funny story with the first guy. So the first guy, he robbed a few other people. He actually stole furniture too. I have two Paul On lamps. He stole them. I got them back. So he went to jail because he was basically stealing from all of these high-end vintage furniture stores in LA.

1:06:24Emily Oberg:Back in the truck up? Furniture stealing is not easy.

1:06:27Chris Black:Yeah, I think he did some credit card scams with some. He would go into some and yeah, he broke in overnight and stole stuff. He stole it out of my house when it was under renovation. I found his address and I went to his apartment.

1:06:39Emily Oberg:Bro, what?

1:06:40Chris Black:Because I wanted to confront him. I was ready to kill this guy. I don't give a thought. I'll do it and I'm crazy.

1:06:46Emily Oberg:Which gun did you bring with you? What did you get out of the gun cabinet?

1:06:50Chris Black:I was not prepared. I found his address. I went and I knocked on the door and he had moved. So he wasn't there. I was so disappointed. But the person knew who I was. They're like, are you Emily from Complex? What are you doing? I was like, don't worry about it.

1:07:06Emily Oberg:Aren't you Emily from Complex?

1:07:08Jason Stewart:This sounds like a scene out of Entourage.

1:07:11Emily Oberg:Or like I Love LA. Where are the box logos? What the fuck? I don't want all this Hermes shit. What the fuck? We got any Jordans in here? Okay.

1:07:19Chris Black:Okay, so have you had to take security precautions?

1:07:22Emily Oberg:Do you have a new system?

1:07:23Chris Black:Yeah, of course. I mean, I have cameras. I have an alarm. That doesn't do much in LA, but...

1:07:28Emily Oberg:I think we need to get some heavy-duty locks on the closet.

1:07:32Chris Black:I think I just need a big safe.

1:07:34Emily Oberg:Yeah, that's true. Yeah, big safe.

1:07:37Jason Stewart:And then once we get that LVMH buyout or whatever, then we can get the armed guard who just posts up on the Benny Blanco style.

1:07:45Chris Black:Yeah, overnight security is like the goal.

1:07:47Emily Oberg:That's actually crazy. I knew that it happened, but I didn't realize it was targeted like that. But I guess that makes sense. Most of them are.

1:07:54Chris Black:I've had so many friends who've gotten robbed and it's like when they post they're out of town.

1:07:58Emily Oberg:Luckily, I don't have anything, so I'm kind of in the clear. Yeah, you're lucky.

1:08:02Jason Stewart:You're lucky in that way that you don't really have any good stuff. I don't have any good stuff.

1:08:07Emily Oberg:I'm all set.

1:08:08Jason Stewart:So it possessed nothing of value. You want some jeans? You can come rob my ass right now.

1:08:13Emily Oberg:Get you a little REM shirt. Yeah, if you want 10 REM shirts, prime era. you can come get those

1:08:19Chris Black:honestly probably worth like 20k though

1:08:21Emily Oberg:I wish

1:08:22Chris Black:in totality

1:08:22Emily Oberg:no Travis Scott hasn't worn one yet so we're still on the low end yeah I mean that's that's how they got

1:08:27Jason Stewart:Brad Pitt in Los Feliz that he was doing some promo tour just throw a rock through the biggest window in the house and

1:08:34Chris Black:yeah it's so easy like if you think about it
